My father was a big Archie Bunker fan and was shocked when I told that the actor Carroll O'Connor was nothing like Archie Bunker. Archie Bunker may have been a Nixon loving Republican but Carroll O'Connor was a New York Democrat liberal. I always wondered how my father would have responded to _In The Heat Of The Night._ He passed away in 1983, a few years before ITHOTN
