Fascinating.
As an American Christian who was raised in a family with a military serving tradition, I find this to be absolutely fascinating.
It bothers me, as an American, that one does not want to take at least a year or two to serve their country in the military.
It very much confuses me. But to each their own. I’m not one to judge. I feel that everyone is entitled to live their lives as they choose as long as they do not harm others doing it.
So, I get both sides.
I understand the frustrations of the ones that are entirely capable of serving in the military, even if it’s pushed on them by family.
I also understand the frustration on both sides though.
It looks to be a very challenging struggle in Israeli society.
Here we have religious exemptions for ones that sight religious reasons to not serve during a draft.
I do, however, understand how that could be rather contentious when you have such constant threats to your very survival, as Israel has.
It looks to be a very carefully considered and difficult task to be able to make things feasible there for so many people.
Yes, as Christians, we are persecuted.
But no one will completely understand what persecution truly is until they become a Jew.
In the Bible it states very clearly that the Jews are God’s chosen people.
But it also states that we Christians, Gentiles, should always be allies of the Jewish populace, no matter what.
So, in closing, I hope that all that is supposed to be figured out according to God’s will, gets figured out very quickly.
You have my unwavering support no matter what happens.
