With 16 studio albums, 40 years of being a band and Dave Mustaines history with Metallica, there was SO MUCH I could have covered in this documentary. It would have been impossible to fit everything into 40 minutes so I hope you all enjoy the early life of Mustaine and Megadeth that I decided to focus on!

Say what you will, but Dave is one of the most hardworking men in metal music. He turned spite into a legacy that forever changed music history. Megadeth is still going strong and deserves all the recognition in the world.
Dave and megadeath won't lie to you they'll tell you flat out yeah some of my members are drug addicts Coke heads outlaws criminals criminals we're not your saints we're not the saints of God we're the exact opposite Metallica on the other hand are too busy trying to be ultra boys I'm trying to be too better than everyone else you're in a f****** metal band not in a quieter
Dave getting kicked out of Metallica is one of the best things to ever happen for heavy metal music. Dave isn't meant to be in a band where his creative authority is limited by fellow band members. Megadeth is making seriously heavy albums. Dystopia is amazing. Metallica's latest album...eehhh...
@Keith Nowak There's no denying what Metallica has achieved...especially during the Cliff era. Ever since Cliff died however, Metallica hasnt been the same. Dave on the other hand, he's had countless line up changes and he always pulls it off. That's because he runs the show. Metallica, everyone has to have a say...the difference between both shows.
I agree Megadeth was born because of it and I believe Megadeth is a better band than Metallica I stopped listening to Metallica after Cliff passed I didn’t care for Justice and you know the rest of Metallica history.
I am reading the Mustaine book you mentioned. Truly, the story of his life is so impressive and full of teachings. Giving Megadeth a try was one of the best things I've done in life
Megadeth was the shit. i got rust in peace on cassette and had a walkman the old one's that didnt have rewind had to play the cassette all the way then flipside and play the second half of the album or take it out and stick a pencil in the hole and spin till u think u have it in the right song. That was 91so i was in year one and was crazy about megadeth. And coz im autistic and was in to metal, parent's hated me to them i was a retarded devil lover and come from a broken home with a mother who was never home coz need to work. So meagdeth was my career and teacher
Dave's story needs to be made into a movie or series I swear just like "The Dirt" All his pass through Panic and Metallica and end up probably at Rust in Peace
If you've ever picked up an electric guitar tried to learn electric guitar or actually played electric guitar in the band you know that Dave mustaine's guitar skills greatly eclipse anything that Metallica ever had offer without him in
Megadeth is definitely my favorite band. When I was younger, I favored Metallica. As I got older Dave's lyrics were more interesting to me. And Megadeth definitely won the speed war. Peace sells live, always makes the room explode. I'm excited for the new album.
I had a run in with Dave on July 5, 1991 in Portland Maine. He is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He was sober, funny and very impressionable. Great guy.
@@AZ-kr6ff You are correct bro. Wasn't Alice in chains amazing ? I was so impressed with them. Ironically after their set (right before Anthrax) I saw this long haired dude sitting up in the upper section, It was Mike Starr sitting with a girl. I walked over with my girlfriend and we instantly hit it off. He was also a really great guy.
@@100chuckjones Wow, that's cool you met Starr! I was too cool for AIC, they weren't metal enough for me at the time. Haha I changed my view in time though. Yeah I forgot about the 4th of July line, but you're right. I remember him saying "we're not here to hurt each other", and the crowd kinda expressed disagreement with that sentiment ( at least in the front on the floor where I was), which seemed to disgust him a little bit, and he just said "keep it up and we won't be allowed to come back". I was standing just behind where the firecrackers we're going off and the crowd was packed tightly enough that they were landing on people's shoulders and going off right in their faces... must've kinda sucked for the few people who got nailed. I have a clear vision of it in my memory. At the end of their set Lombardo threw a stick and a couple guys both had their hand on it. Instead of fighting over it they agreed to break it in half, so me and my buddy followed them over to the stairs where they snapped it and we both got a few splinters. I've still got mine somewhere. I don't know if it had anything to do with the firecrackers or not, but they didn't come back to Maine until 1999 in Lewiston. I think I remember early in Anthrax's set, Belladonna came out and ran around with a big inflatable microphone that he held at his crotch and waved around like it was a dick. Haha That's about all I remember if the show, other than Mustaine standing there ripping on his guitar, as usual.
Rust in Peace was my first taste of Megadeth. The guy at the music shop used to work at a local rock club and every week I'd go down to buy an album or two and on one occasion he recommended that album to me. Never heard of the band before but listening to that album all the way through in one sitting, reading the lyrics and looking at the artwork it was a truly mind blowing experience. From Holy Wars and it's explicit description of what war usually entails and leaves you with going through to the end of the album where Dawn Patrol describes what life would be like after a nuclear apocalypse and then the last track Rust In Peace - Polaris telling it from the point of view of the atomic weapon itself that just wants to destroy everything. One of the greatest albums of all time.
Religiously followed Megadeth since 1986 and witnessed these events in real time. This Doc has been most accurate and so well put together. Very nice work.
Well done my good man... well done. I have always thought Dave should get more credit. He pulled his self out of the mud and created thrash history. It wasn't a Metallica knock off, it was Megadeath!
Agreed. He doesn't get the credit he deserves at all. The fact he hasn't been inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame yet is criminal. The Metallica subservient media still paints him as the bitter ex bad guy while Metallica are squeaky clean, no questions asked. . Whenever Metallica say anything about what happened,it's taken as gold, while the word "allegedly" is always attached to everything Dave says about hat happened back then..even the incident that led to Dave clobbering James for kicking his dog...read about that incident and it says "Hetfield allegedly kicked Mustaine's dog"..Ron McGoverney confirmed Mustaine's version of events and he had no reason to back him up!
@@alangregg5520 - James was always a prick just like Lars. A perfect example of this is when James was making fun of Layne Staley’s addiction on stage and someone hit the dipship upside his head with a bottle and he ended the show. Well, you kinda asked for that, James. You don’t think YOU were wrong? Oh and how shitty he and Lars treated Jason. I absolutely believe Dave Mustaine over Lars and James. Dave has his ways, but he’s not fake. With Dave, what you see is what you get. James is the one that always tried to act cool and humble.
Growing up poor in a crappy small town with just my mom and my sister was rough. But all it takes is one person who does something you like to spark that curiosity and get you going in the right direction. I didn't have anyone around me who played music growing up. But I did have a neighbor who was always working on his custom car. Now I'm a gearhead
In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, I was a young teenager into Nu Metal. I had heard a few songs from Metallica and a few from Megadeth. It was when I heard a snippet of Holy Wars/Punishment Due, everything changed. I bought Rust in Peace from my guitar shop, popped the album in my dad’s cd player and my jaw hit the floor. I was speechless to what I had just heard. My musical interests changed at that point
Same, only I liked Metallica more and just heard of Megadeth until I actually started listening to Megadeth more in the recent months and now I love them just as much as Metallica lol.
Of the Big 4..... Metallica - Most accessible, easiest to get into for new fans. A good place to start, and probably better lyricists than they’re given credit for. Anthrax - Most fun, by a landslide...Good time party music, even played a part in the Rap/Metal hybrid that came later. Arguably pushed the most musical boundaries of the Big 4. Slayer - The best “image”, they look exactly like they sound....Scary.....The rawest of the 4, and subsequent major influence on death metal. Megadeth - Most talented, by far. None of the other 3 bands could pull off such intricate arrangements. Thinking man’s thrash, almost prog-metal.
Most people would despise Mustaine's voice but it's aptly a reflection of the nature of Megadeth. I couldn't imagine another voice singing Megadeth's songs. Same with Geddy Lee of Rush or Brian Johnson of AC/DC.
Dave is a shredder. He brought so much to the metal world. I never saw him as being kicked out of Metallica really. It had to happen. Metallica became majorly boring to me by the late 80's, Megadeth were thankfully putting out real thrash still. Among other Bay area bands.
@Josh Traffanstedt with all the time they have between albums you’d think they’ll have plenty of time to create another album as great as Ride the lighting.
I would encourage everyone to get the book, Mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir. If you like Dave Mustaine, you’ll love it. Dave has had his problems, but, along will Neil Peart and Steve Harris, he is one of three musical geniuses in hard rock/metal. The other thing about Dave, which made Megadeth better is that he let the other guitarist in the band shine. He was never afraid to feature other guitarists at his own expense. This led to phenomenal music, especially in the Marty Friedman era, since Marty was the only guitarist that played with Dave who is better than he is.
I really enjoyed this documentary. It is so awesome that I can watch all these stories like this free now any time I want on TH-cam. Back in the 90's I never had cable or MTV or anything like that. In fact, only ABC, FOX, and PBS worked on my TV. We were too far away from major cities and the broadcast towers for NBC to come in. I never had cable or Satellite TV, and this is why I love TH-cam so much.
I was really lucky to have cable in the 90s as a kid and I'd spend hours watching stuff like Behind The Music and Headbangers Ball but even still now I love watching all the old stuff on TH-cam!
This man,Dave Mustaine, gives me a strength to survive and I learned a lot from him.How to stand on feet when life is punching and how not to give up from myself and my dreams. He may not be perfect, but he is unique.
Love that the big 4 all have a connection with Mustaine. Metallica - well, you know… Megadeth - he formed Slayer - their guitarist Kerry King joined Megadeth for like a week Anthrax - used the same recording area as Mustaine era Metallica
Dave doesn't know it, but he taught me how to play guitar, I bin playing about 30 or so years, I have to say he's the best teacher I ever had, thanks dave
Fun Fact: Steve Harris was at one of those New York area shows, and saw Mustaine play with Metallica. He went up to Dave afterwards and said he really liked his guitar playing.

@@andyhinds542 ??? Politics is slogans - "Read My Lips!!" Remember that one? Megadeth have been talking about politics their whole career. The second album shows the U.N. completely blown up and destroyed!! Songs like “Symphony of Destruction” and “Foreclosure of a Dream” are still relevant today, with the dark military and political themes going on around the globe.
"Not only was he kicked out of Metallica, The biggest rock band ever..". Huh? The biggest Rock band in the world? When he was kicked out of Metallica they hadn't even recorded an album yet? I first heard Metallica on the Metal Massacre compilations. "Hit The Lights" first, I believe, and another song with Dave and Ron. "Metal Militia", I believe..? Dave was kicked out right before making "Kill Em' All"! They hired Kirk from Exodus, and he had two weeks to learn the songs and the solos, before recording the album. My favorite Megadeth album was "Peace Sells". I loved the drummer from that album. Very prolific, almost like a Jazz drummer, and extremely talented. Then they got a "heavier" drummer. Saw them live with him, and he sounded prehistoric with mich less talent and creativity, but a heavy hitter. Last Megadeth show I saw was in an arena in Rochester, NY. Dave's always been great! But that lineup wasn't anything like "Peace Sells", and I never bought another of their albums. Metallica's Black album was the last I purchased. None since then though. Nothing very interesting after that. At least compared to the other albums.
Brilliant video - love that you chose to focus on a lot of lesser-known early & behind the scenes stuff. Think I need to go and read Dave's memoirs now.
The album cover of Countdown to Extinction is awesome. At 15 years of age, I my interpretation of the guy on the cover was the last person on Earth dying, and ascending to another level. Megadeth is a very thought provoking band even the album covers. Dave Mustaine is a very creative, and talented artist. It's pretty low that Metallica stole his music after firing him, and took all the credit. I wore all these tapes out in the 90's, even Metallica. I love them both.
They need to stop running this same ole story into the ground. Dave is a HUGE success and while I was a big Metallica fan in the 80s (Saw them 3x) I would rather listen to Megadeth now. Dave survived it all and he is still here cranking out albums and putting on great live shows.
Dave is the best guitarist in history! I met him 2 months ago during the "destroy all enemies tour" here in Austin, TX. He's the nicest guy ever & even thanked me for my service as a U.S. Army Veteran. I just bought an Epiphone Flying V Prophecy (Mustaine version) He said he'd sign it the next time I see him and I can't wait. MEGADETH FOREVER!!!

GOD BLESS CLIFF AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE but neither dave nor cliff started the band, which again, is the point the O.P. was commenting on Look, ... to keep this real ok if we look at what the O.P. was ACTUALLY TRYING TO SAY instead of strictly his words he was saying DAVE IS FUCKING AWESOME but he was trying to say also (and incorrectly) he is awesome because he started 2 of the greatest bands in metal well... HE IS AWESOME no one can doubt that , but first of all CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE, You are not awesome just because you start a band, so he is wrong as to why dave is awesome and he is wrong that dave started metallica Dave has awesome things about him and then has dickhead things about him. if we want to debate dave started metallica, well he also got kicked from the band he started didn't he, and if we get to the crux of it, it's because he was young and drugs and money and all that bullshit and it sort of turns you into a dickhead so we can debate that if we like, which still doesn't get us anywhere LET'S UNDERSTAND IT FOR WHAT IT IS 1. Dave didn't start metallica, Lars and James did, but more correctly Lars, but then he sort of stole the name as well, LOL... but formally it was Lars so that is a fact and it shouldn't be changed or debated 2. fact 1 does not take any glory away from dave, Dave didn't start metallica, so the O.P is incorrect, but in saying that THE O.P. SHOULD HAVE CHOSEN A BETTER POINT OF ARGUMENT TO PRESENT DAVE IN LIKE..... HIS SPIDER TECHNIQUE, HIS AMAZING RIFF ABILITY , HIS UNIQUE STYLE, HIS UNWILLINGNESS TO GIVE UP, No one is doubting that dave it awesome, but i think some people think if i say he didn't start metallica it means he is less than what he is ... NO I'M NOT SAYING THAT i'm just saying he didn't start it , but that doesn't affect his awesomness because regardless he still started Megadeth which turned out to rule the world as well SO... WHAT ??? IS STARTING 1 MEGA BAND (PUN INTENDED) NOT ENOUGH ????? Mustaine is the icon of hope, self medicating and perseverance through Hell. His becoming clean is a mantra for most. He experienced pain, recovery and joy. I love Dave. I've been 9 months sober for his plight.
Dave is just a musical legend. the gifts he has given the world through his songs are immeasurable. out of all the classic metal bands, Megadeth is the one making the best music to this day
first song I’ve heard from megadeth was RATTLEHEAD. absolute best song i’ve ever heard. in my life. chris poland blows away any lead guitarist. i’ll never forget hearing it for the first time
Idk, dude. The line up now is pretty much spot on. Kiko is as off kilter as Poland, as emotionally engaging as Marty and as technical as Broderick. Dirk is so much like Gar, and Dave will tell you the same. And although when I think of Megadeth, I think of Ellefson, James is the better player. He strays way more off the guitar path and adds a dimension to the music Jr. doesn't. Ironically enough, Ellefson's most musical album is Risk. But, Lomenzo is such a killer player. When I think of Washington is Next, I hear the bassline. Not many Megadeth songs where you can say the bass is the more memorable part of a song. His contributions to United Abominations and Endgame cannot be overlooked. The guys adds so much. If this was the line up in the early 90's, they would be just as iconic as the RIP lineup.
I always felt Megadeath was more talented. I like Metallica a lot. Especially, while growing up in the '80s. But I always felt Megadeath was a better band. After the Metallica Black Album, I liked Megadeath even more.
Yeah but Dave basically is Megadeth, especially since he kicked Ellefson out. He's always relied on hiring "the most talented" artists to fill in spots. Meanwhile Metallica have been the same band with the core 3 of James, Lars and Kirk for 40 years. We can only imagine what the original Megadeth lineup would be like if they all stayed together, or the Rust in Peace lineup. Same can be said for Metallica if Cliff had not died.
Dave Mustaine is a musical game changer. He is a legend in my book like Hendrix, and Van Halen. I think his musical path passed Metallica sonically and musically along time ago.
My brothers and I met Marty & Jason Becker in NOLA when Cacophony was touring....we helped 'em outta a tight spot. Several years later when Megadeth was touring Rust In Peace thru' OK and Marty comped us tix/passes and we kicked it with 'em at their suite the night before the show, reminiscing about NOLA and talking MEGADETH. Marty's a genuinely nice cat.
My dad came back from a tour in iraq and brought back one of those brick music players from a friend of his who gave it to him.. like the very start of the ipod kinda thing. Ill never know this stranger but i heard “502” and my love of Megadeth sparked. Thanks stranger! 😂❤

I feel as though Dave Mustaine's life would make for a VERY interesting movie. Metallica is Metallica. It's a pretty straight forward story. The story of Dave Mustaine and everything that man has accomplished and been through, however, is a far more compelling one than the story of Metallica.
Wow. I had no idea Dave Mustaine had a tough childhood. Which explains why he had a drinking problem later on. After dealing with the trauma from Metallica I respect that man greatly, Megadeth Is super famous in my home country Argentina.
I love Metallica but regardless of how bad Dave had gotten, in my opinion, they fucked him over big time. They never would've been who they are today without Dave.
You can say the first three albums of Metallica had a little of Dave's influence for sure. I even believe the story of MOP riff being somthing he tough them to. The spider chord etc.

Dave stuck to his passion, doesn't hold back about his past, tells it like it is. Dave is simply a Badass and a great player.

Yep! He is waaaay too good of a riff/song writer to be in a band with James and Lars. It was the absolute best thing could ever have happened.

If you've ever picked up an electric guitar tried to learn electric guitar or actually played electric guitar in the band you know that Dave mustaine's guitar skills greatly eclipse anything that Metallica ever had offer without him in
Well yeah megadeth riffs were always harder to play that Metallica riffs
Megadeth is definitely my favorite band. When I was younger, I favored Metallica. As I got older Dave's lyrics were more interesting to me. And Megadeth definitely won the speed war. Peace sells live, always makes the room explode. I'm excited for the new album.

Wow, that's cool you met Starr!
I was too cool for AIC, they weren't metal enough for me at the time. Haha
I changed my view in time though.
Haha
That's about all I remember if the show, other than Mustaine standing there ripping on his guitar, as usual.
megadeth was always my favorite metal band growing up. rust in piece as an album changed my life.
One of the greatest albums of all time.
The entire rust in peace album is extremely well produced, and the musicianship displaced is sublime.

How was megadeth live in 86 ?
Just saw megadeth 2 days ago with lamb of god. At 60 mustaine is still a monster.

1000%
Most people would despise Mustaine's voice but it's aptly a reflection of the nature of Megadeth. I couldn't imagine another voice singing Megadeth's songs. Same with Geddy Lee of Rush or Brian Johnson of AC/DC.
I like that "thinking mans thrash".
@Benson Shrimp I actually agree, but the general consensus is that they belong, so that’s why I included them, regardless of my personal opinion.
@Benson Shrimp Testament or Sepultura should override Anthrax. Sound of White Noise is really the only Anthrax album I dig

It's an excellent book and I completely agree with your statements! 🤘🏻

Love that the big 4 all have a connection with Mustaine.
Metallica - well, you know…
Megadeth - he formed
Slayer - their guitarist Kerry King joined Megadeth for like a week
Anthrax - used the same recording area as Mustaine era Metallica
Not the big 4 but dimebag is the one who recommended they use Hanger 18 as an opener which stands to this day

Megadeth is a very thought provoking band even the album covers. Dave Mustaine is a very creative, and talented artist. It's pretty low that Metallica stole his music after firing him, and took all the credit. I wore all these tapes out in the 90's, even Metallica. I love them both.
Peace sells hit hard in high school. Holy Wars cemented my respect forever. We love ya DAVE
They need to stop running this same ole story into the ground. Dave is a HUGE success and while I was a big Metallica fan in the 80s (Saw them 3x) I would rather listen to Megadeth now. Dave survived it all and he is still here cranking out albums and putting on great live shows.

No i'm none of those
I'm just saying
the O.P's comment is incorrect
I am acknowledging that Dave largely contributed on the first few albums and that he's an awesome guitarist
I am acknowledging the awesomness of cliff (who could possibly argue that point) cliff didn't just help, Cliff basically rocketed them forward to success...... GOD BLESS CLIFF AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE
but neither dave nor cliff started the band, which again, is the point the O.P. was commenting on
Look, ... to keep this real ok if we look at what the O.P. was ACTUALLY TRYING TO SAY instead of strictly his words
he was saying DAVE IS FUCKING AWESOME
but he was trying to say also (and incorrectly) he is awesome because he started 2 of the greatest bands in metal
well... HE IS AWESOME no one can doubt that , but first of all CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE,
You are not awesome just because you start a band, so he is wrong as to why dave is awesome and he is wrong that dave started metallica
Dave has awesome things about him and then has dickhead things about him.
if we want to debate dave started metallica, well he also got kicked from the band he started didn't he, and if we get to the crux of it, it's because he was young and drugs and money and all that bullshit and it sort of turns you into a dickhead
so we can debate that if we like, which still doesn't get us anywhere
LET'S UNDERSTAND IT FOR WHAT IT IS
1. Dave didn't start metallica, Lars and James did, but more correctly Lars, but then he sort of stole the name as well, LOL... but formally it was Lars
so that is a fact and it shouldn't be changed or debated
2. fact 1 does not take any glory away from dave, Dave didn't start metallica, so the O.P is incorrect, but in saying that THE O.P. SHOULD HAVE CHOSEN A BETTER POINT OF ARGUMENT TO PRESENT DAVE IN
LIKE..... NO I'M NOT SAYING THAT
i'm just saying he didn't start it , but that doesn't affect his awesomness
because regardless he still started Megadeth which turned out to rule the world as well
SO... WHAT ??? IS STARTING 1 MEGA BAND (PUN INTENDED) NOT ENOUGH ?????
Dave is a fucking legend in his own right and i haven't taken anything away from that
I'm just answering the O.P. for what he's saying , but i'm also correcting the mistake

Best combo for Megadeth with a time machine-Dave, Marty, Ellefson, and finally the legendary Gar Samuelson.

How do you spell MegaDeth though?
Yeah but Dave basically is Megadeth, especially since he kicked Ellefson out. He's always relied on hiring "the most talented" artists to fill in spots. Meanwhile Metallica have been the same band with the core 3 of James, Lars and Kirk for 40 years.
We can only imagine what the original Megadeth lineup would be like if they all stayed together, or the Rust in Peace lineup. Same can be said for Metallica if Cliff had not died.

I feel as though Dave Mustaine's life would make for a VERY interesting movie. Metallica is Metallica. It's a pretty straight forward story. The story of Dave Mustaine and everything that man has accomplished and been through, however, is a far more compelling one than the story of Metallica.
As hot-headed and tormented as he may be, one of the most spectacular talents to ever exist.
I agree, it was a bad way to go
You can say the first three albums of Metallica had a little of Dave's influence for sure. I even believe the story of MOP riff being somthing he tough them to. The spider chord etc.
@@MetaITurtle right. The cool thing about it all at least is out of this came Megadeth so instead of one awesome band, we ended up with two of the best bands ever to listen to.
Totally he shaped their sound
HE was acting like an angry spoiled drunken idiot and punched James...
I love how bands like Megadeth wanted to be the "fastest, heaviest, most extreme" ever while stuff like Sodom, DRI, Bathory and Sepultura were around.
Yeah they never hit any of those targets lol, still badass as fuck tho.
@@BillCoz Oh shit yeah! But is funny how black/death metal appeard at the same time as thrash. While Kill 'em All and Show no Mercy were coming out, there were demos of DeaTH (Mantas), Sodom, not to mention hardcore punk bands.
No internet
Sadly, they all suck...
girls dont go to those concerts, whats the point?
Met Dave in Tampa back in '98. One of the nicest guys. Talked to me and my buddy for an half an hour , A true highlight in my life. Megadeth rules
Megadeth is one of the best metal bands of all time.
I saw both bands when they were just starting. Both great bands and seen them both many times but the one that sticks out in my memory forever is a Megadeth show I seen at a small club and Dave was shwacked out of his mind drooling on his guitar and singing with drool hanging out of his mouth and was so crisp and beyond loud. Raw talent and energy on a different level.
I absolutely love Mustaine , his guitar playing is so unique, and his song writing! Lars is a twerp!!! Such a dork, and James is ehhhh meh…. Thanks to Dave Mustaine for his perseverance in music and life. Rock on Dave!!!!
yes lol
James is of greater musical importance to Metallica than Lars. Dave's style of riffing obviously rubbed off on him.
@@robwalsh9843 Lars writes most of the arrangements to the songs though.
And some of his drum parts are turned into riffs.
Time has shown Megadeth to be the better band. I'll put any Megadeth album against anything Metallica crapped out since 1991.
You should see Lars interviewing Dave Grohl. The worst drummer alive interviewing the best drummer alive.
RUST IN PEACE!! THE Best metal album of all-time!!! MASTERPIECE!!🤘☢🤘🔪
IMO of course!!!🤘😎🔪🔪🔪🔪
It's hard to disagree with that!!
@@RAWMUSICTV Btw Thank you for sharing this with all of us!!!
What’s with the knifes
@@darraghhenley7528 Killer tunes of course lol
Dude, this was an awesome documentary! Well done!! Megadeth was always my fav band for a long time.
Great production about Mustaine. You did an amazing job with it and I look forward to more. Dave is so blunt in his speech and thoughts, lyrics ya gotta give him credit.
Dave has no credits on master of puppets because he didn't write any of it
@@imagereflection4826 I bought the cassette when it first came out , and I'm looking over the song credits and thought who's this Mustaine guy? Anyway , I don't have proof so ,moving on....
@@joemars41 No he never had credits on that album, only kill em all 4 songs and ride the lightning 2 songs.
He claims he inspired the bridge of leper messiah but Metallica have denied his writing
@@imagereflection4826 Side note: I saw Cliff Burton play with Metallica in Brooklyn, NY. At a club called L'amours . Supporting Ride the Lightning. Same club when Exodus' Bonded by blood came out , after the show , my friend and I hung out with Gary Holt and the other guitarist at the bar and they were real cool. Gary broke out a powerful blunt and it was crazy - good times
As a fan of Metallica and several other bands, I did not know very much about Megadeth, thanks for this great documentary about the guys, Dave I had heard about but never this much. Well done and keep up the great work you do. Thanks for this.
The first 2 bands of the bid 4 I ever got into was MEGADETH AND ANTHRAX.
And my introduction to both METALLICA and SLAYER was merely by accident.
First first 2 thrash cassettes I bought was.
AMONG THE LIVING and PEACE SELLS BUT WHO'S BUYING.
Pretty much change my taste in music after that.
even though I do have a lot of respect and love for hair Rock.
I still don't consider most of the LA hair bands were either pop metal or hard Rock.
But hair metal term it's still a bit of a stretch for me.
I’m glad to say I got to see Megadeth and Metallica live both in the same year after a global pandemic 🤘🏻🤘🏻
They just believed and became a rockstars.
What an amazing documentary! So much great information that I’ve never been aware of. Megadeth is and always will be my favorite metal band.
Dave, I am so sorry your upbringing was so hard and painful. I'm glad you were able to find music to pull you through. I feel like your talent has been used for bringing good karma to all of us. You've been through hell but you made it bud. You made it and I am so grateful to you for what your music brings to my life. You rock dude. I love watching you live. God Bless Megadeth !
I'm not banging my head, I'm rattling my skull!!!
I was born 11 days after Dave . He loves the Fans of the band.
I can only imagine the level of music that prime Hetfield, Burton and Mustaine would create.
Awesome video, brother, thank you so much!!! Bad-ass!!!! I read his memoir: Mustaine, frickin' explosive!!!!! Can't wait to read Rust In Peace: The Inside Story! I can't wait to watch other videos of yours!! Cheers, mate.
I love the dark setup with the audio equipment and green lights in the background while you talk. Looks very cozy
Always loved Megadeth as a kid when dad first bought the Rust In Peace album. This is a great documentary, loved it. Thank you!
Such a good documentary!
I am a huge Metallica fan but I will never deny that without Dave mustaine's influence in the early days of Metallica, Metallica may have ended up being a considerably different band. In my eyes when you think back to the early days of true metal Dave mustaine will be written in the history books with names like Angus Young, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Lemme. He is one of the greatest of our generation.
Dave is the fucking man. My favorite musician and guitar player, and no one comes close.
Cant wait to see them for the first time today IN THE PIT
