Louis is a middle child with an older sister and a younger brother. And that can be kind of tough, since any time he wanted to join in on activities with them, he was either too old for his younger brother or too young for his older sister. And, even though he loved his Mom very much, and knew that deep down she really cared about him, still, at times he got the feeling that his Mom loved him a lot less than his other two siblings.
For a while it was just his Mother and the three kids since his parents had divorced, and things were okay (and safe) until his Mom met a new person, who just so happened not to like Louis and his little brother very much, and was super strict with a short fuse and a bad temper.
If Louis and his little brother didn't do what their new father, well, step-father said, he would hit them, hurt them. Once he hit Louis so hard that he knocked him out. And this then went on for years. It got to the point where Louis actually called the police to come - he didn't feel safe and didn't think his brother or sister were safe either. But, unfortunately, when the police arrived his story was dismissed and ignored because he was "just a child" and his step-father made up a story and schmoozed the cop.
So, that was life at home, and his new school was no better. Because of what he was going through at home his self-esteem was really low and he would end up getting bullied just for being a loner, by himself, and a bit scared - who could blame him - but the kids at school weren't nice to say the least.
For the entire first year he had no friends at school - literally - and he was always by himself, so the kids made fun of him, called him a loner and a loser, broke him down every single day.
Then, after a bad day at school he would head out for a bad night at home - he didn't feel safe anywhere and felt like he had nothing good or positive in his life. And he'd get beat up.
After time, with all of that continuing, he saw his stepfather about to hit his little brother and without thinking, Louis stepped in between them and said "NO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT." This only made things tougher and he got hit even harder than usual, but at least he had protected his little brother from the abuse.
Up to that point Louis had always felt like an outcast, but something changed inside him then, he had been pushed too far, and he decided to put himself out there, to keep trying, and to overcome all those challenges that had been put on him and to be more confident and less of a loner.
He kept trying and trying to be friendly, to say hello and join in where he thought he could, and he never gave up. And finally, someone actually approached him, started a conversation, and Louis' first real friendship had begun!
His new friend ended up introducing Louis to more people and he made more friends - he even became known as a popular kid that everybody liked and respected. His confidence grew, and his happiness grew, and things at home started to improve then as well. He got along better with his brother and sister, and his Mom made more of an effort and he felt, finally, equally loved and cared for.
He felt like part of the family again, like home was a real safe place for him, and he felt good and welcomed and liked at school too!
How did he do it? He just stayed strong on the inside and tried not to let all the challenges take him down. He pushed himself to get out there into his world, be himself, grow his confidence and change his future.

Ikr they act like posters are what fix it but then they never do anything to actually help and then the ppl bullies eventually and then some even considered become either suicidal and depressed or dangerous school shooters. They contribute to all this, but they just toss it aside, risking other's and even their own life.
I'm a middle sibling and I feel like that sometimes but you should know that there's people around you who cares about you! This is the most important thing that I learnt that in life there are people who care.

This makes me remember when I really was suicidal and I didn't want to live because of how my life was. I was poor and beacuse my mom remaired she started caring bout my step brother and beacuse I was older I felt like she was going to stop loving me. It got the point where I failed two of my classes and was ready to run away and kill my self. I recoverd from all of it in the end beacuse I noticed people who I thought hated me weren't bad at all, not different but the same. Keep on going even if it goes to a bad point

I was very hurt when I saw poor Louis going through so much tragedy, loneliness and abuse. I know he deserved way better than that. If I ever happen to come across Louis someday, first thing I'd do is tell him, "Way 2 Stay Strong. I know it must've been hard trying to go a very hard time like that, but I'm glad you're still doing and feeling okay right now." At least that's what I hope to hear from him. 2nd, I'd probably give him a hug while I'm at it just to show him how much I really care about him. IDK, if that seems a little bit "too much," but hey, if it means making Louis feel better about himself, then it's totally worth it. Trust me. And I will not let his story go unseen or unheard. Because nobody deserves to go through dark times like this. Not ypu, not me, nobody. 🙅🏾♂️🙅🏾🚫
So let this be a lesson to everyone. Be grateful for the life that u have right now. And if you're ever going through a difficult time in your life, go to someone you can trust. And don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and those around you because I guarantee, you won't be alone. There will be at least someone there to defend you and be by your side. It's very important to make everyone feel safe the best way possible. Especially adults. Now I might not be an adult, but what I do know is that when it comes down to dealing with
kids/adolescents like myself, hitting can sometimes be a little bit extreme. 😖🤕😔
However, it depends on the situation. So don't take my word for it. But I will say this: "Hitting can sometimes be acceptable. And by that, I mean something like a little spank on the behind or hands. But, there is a certain limit to this hitting rule. Sometimes, people tend to take it too far and start to actually harm the child in more ways than what they wanted to in the first place. So be very cautious of that." But overall, just please remember to stay strong. You're not alone and it will all be over soon if you just hang in there. I believe in you. ☺🤗♥

Defending his brother was the saddest thing of all. He took a bad beating that could make him injured just so his brother could be safe. No kid should ever be treated like this.
But yet, they are about a thousand kids like this boy, and his younger brother die each year from being abused by either their mother or their father or their relatives or grandparents or babysitters or teachers and school bullies too. Even babies aren't safe from this. Many of them are aborted by their would-be mama's because their doctors tell them that their baby isn't a baby and many fetious babies are killed by abortion every year before they could even get a chance to be even born which is two more eyes which will never see, two more legs that'll never run, one more mouth that will never speak. And if this kid thinks that he and his brother have got it bad, the babies that are murdered in their mothers' wombs each and every single year have it the worst and all cause their mother doesn't want them I was almost one of those babies because my mom almost aborted me.
She even said right to my face as a six year old little girl that I was a mistake and that I shouldn't have been born. And heard her say to my aunt on the phone about how she had wanted me to be a boy. ☹️
What a shame. His mom should've believed him more because he's her son, she didn't trust him simply because he's a child? I don't get how she was unaware her new husband is hurting Louis! He should've called the police again or talk to the Guidance! The situation would've been handled sooner and get his abusive step-dad in prison! Also, the cops who neglected their job should've been fired and/or imprisoned! At least lets hope he wouild personally tell his new friends about this.

Let's be logical, it's the mother's fault for picking the wrong person to replace the children's father with a negative, abusive and threatening behaviour towards the children that can scar them. Thankfully, the children (including the narrator) are safe, but it was still the mother's fault for letting the children put up with the bullshit of the step-father for their childhood/adolescence stage.

Olita Regn Lovender sadly that's something some live with. My mom watched as I was physically,verbally,and emotionally abused by her friend. She ignored it. I called the police and they lied to the police. But 3 lies beat one truth. I was told to get checked for some illness because he spat in my face and the cop left. I had just turned 18 a few months prior. The cops didnt care. And they were not strangers to getting calls about me being abused as its happened my whole life and they came to my house on claim atleast once a year. I was never removed. The night the cops came I packed up my things and left with my pets. Things were not a happy ending. I'm 23 now and things have just started to get better in the last year. I'm still emotionally abused by my mom and now my biological dad.
That f***ing sucks. You should record their abusive behavior without them noticing and show it to the police as proof.

As a middle child, I have that exact same problem.
These problems when it comes to be the middle child can lead to Middle Child Syndrome due to lack of attention from the parents and having thoughts of not being part of the family.
I cried hearing this story and I just wanna hug him so much and tell him face-to-face that he’s not the only middle child in this world and many families have more than 1 child and that’s ok because, every child deserves to be heard and loved ❤

They did, is just my mom spends so much with my oldest sibling while my dad with my little sibling and I felt like I’m not important or their too busy to help me

She most likely didn't know or was too scared to confront. It's surprising how people can manipulate and control others to the point of fear if they stand up for themselves.

It's so easy for kids and teens to commit suicide when they are in that space of violent physical and mental abuse no matter where they turn. One friend or loving family member could change that feeling but if that presence isn't available for you during such a time of need, it could become very dangerous. I'm so glad that he was able to look forward and keep working on himself despite of everything. He held on to hope and courage until his situation got better. Great story.

I do not think in any situation you are allowed to hit a child.
That's is how you mentally scar them. If you constantly provoke fear into your child they can't tdo anything. If they do anything wrong it's hell for them even if you don't do anything. I don't understand why people spank or hit there child, if your child is misbehaving it's probably your fault. You've been teaching them for there entire life and if you can't explain to them to be a better person without hitting them it's not there fault. They inherit your traits and they inherit language from kids they talk too.

That's why some kids in my age were calling me baby and laughing. But u know what? I didn't care because that was me and I love myself the way I am and I don't care what other people think. I am a middle child. It is hard. Always hard for me. My older sister likes to be mean and rude to me. My younger sister only agrees with what ever my older sister says. I always feel lost and alone. I still feel this way today. I dont know what to do to fix it. I cry most nights sad that at dinner my sisters are always going to say something rude and nasty to me. Sometimes i wished that my other siblings would just understand how this feels. But sadly they wont and they never will. Unless they stepped into my shoes. But sadly that cant happen.i am 12 years old
