This is the first and only video I have ever watched that stated "never taught him how to be a good passenger" I am going to teach that to my son and pray he is one. God Bless x Thank you.
I thought the exact same thing! Maybe it's because I don't allow my children to be passengers. I know too many people who have lost their children in car accidents while being passengers. I once let my daughter, now 13 but 3 at the time, to ride to a sleep over with my best friend of 20 yrs. I cried as they drove off. My husband thought I was being too sensitive but I wasn't being sensitive, I felt out of control of her safety. I was anxious, scared, and literally terrified of the potential to never see my baby again. She was too young to advocate for her safety nor relay potential dangerous behaviors. As a teen I rode with one reckless driver and that did it for me. I was never a passenger again! Even now at 40, being a passenger gives me anxiety. The idea of putting my safety in another driver's hands is unbearable, let alone my children, toddler, adolescent, teen or otherwise. Lesson learned: Teach your children how to be a good passenger and instill good driving habits within them, promote driving themselves whenever possible, and how to advocate for their safety! God bless everyone and drive safely 🙏🏾
@@davidcross701 you look like an idiot because she's correct. This WASN'T about texting and driving, it was about speeding and being distracted. He wasn't on his phone.
it won't. And speeding isn't the problem if the driver is DRIVING. The germans have no speed limit and you don't hear about a bunch of driving deaths. Pay attention when piloting 2 tons of steel. I've driven in Germany and I can tell you they are better drivers than those in the USA and they follow the driving laws more strictly.
Johnson Kevin that’s actually not true.... deaths have been low sure but injuries due to accidents have been on the rise in Germany since 2016. Having a low percentage of deaths due to accidents doesn’t mean the roads are safer. Maybe they’re just getting smarter about what to do to help prevent death when in an accident.
The kid wasn't even texting and driving, there was nothing regarding the speed in this story, and it wasn't distracted driving. It was reckless driving. It wasn't even the driver's entire fault. The laws and education regarding driving are garbage in this country. Driver's ed is a complete joke, and nobody ever teaches new drivers that they need to respect the fact that they're driving a 2500+ steel or fiberglass bullet. There's no respect taught for how dangerous it is to drive and almost no one understands how to truly drive correctly or well.
I can’t stand hitting thumbs up for these sad videos, however, I don’t want to give it a thumbs down either. Just want the family and friends to know how sorry I am for their loss and pain.
The issue is what as parents you teach your children from birth onwards which determine whether they text, distract drive, poor passenger understanding aside from speeding which demonstrates whether they will listen and survive driving…..Selah (pause, wait and then pray for ‘travelling mercies’ for yourself, passengers and to when your children drive and have passengers present themselves. Then pray for ALL others on the road daily!) OMAIN (Creation needs to thank the CREATOR, Yahushua Nissi (Banner of Victory) Herself for the opportunity to pray and see safety for others on the road DAILY)
Sometimes kids do stupid things and forget it could lead to terrible situations. They forget the car isn’t just fun, it’s dangerous. It’s sad but it’s true and it’s really hard to avoid because, well, they’re kids and they forget they’re not unstoppable.
When I'm going somewhere with my kids I always told them to be quietly sitting good and having their seatbelts on, and not talking to me unless it's something really important like they feel bad or something like that.
I guess every state is different, because I got my learners permit at 15 and license at 16. Over 30 years driving, I'm an extremely careful, I wasn't always when I was younger ( we did dumb things )
jennifer wellman this is relatively new. We did the same as you but my nieces had these provisional licenses and we grew up in the same town but 30 years apart. And I certainly drove my friends around at 16. Also I understand the state of Hawaii let you get your license at 14 back in the 70s (drinking age then was 18).
In Washington State, you actually can't carry any passengers outside of your family for the first year you have your full Drivers License. This is why that law was put into place most likely.
These messages and warnings unfortunately will never sink in to ignorant people in this lifetime. It’s nauseating to think that innocent people will still be killed by idiotic morons who play Russian roulette on the roads and families will suffer devastating losses . RIP to this young man.
I think it’s good practice to drive in the at with passengers. For future references you will need to so practice but don’t be distracted and don’t distract.
In the UK, it is illegal for a provisional license holder to drive any vehicle unless accompanied by a qualified driver with a minimum of three year's experience. If this young driver was following the uk law then this accident might never have happened.
I was never a text person. Not even at home neither. I rather talked on the phone. Whenever I talked and drive? speaker is ON and phone on my lap or passenger sit. Even is still a bit distracted, but I have control in all.
this always sucks, but when it happens to such a close loving family it is just wrong! she is right, the kid wasnt a horrible kid, he was just a kid. i cannot imagine how this is affecting his life. he is a victim too. another kind of victim, but still a victim. this is just so bad. i am so sorry! he didnt do anything almost every other kid has done at his age. i know i did some really dumb risky things even as an older kid. even as an adult.coming up to a light that i know i should stop at, but rushing and going thru that almost red light thinking, ahhh made it. we all do things like that. dumb things, whether driving or having that one too many beers, or whatever. this is just so horrible that it happened to what seems like such a great family. may Karma bless them with goodness from here on!
Weird.. I just looked up Hunter and found the article about the accident. He burned to death in that car! His friends tried to pull him out but could not. Sweet mother of Mary, stupid mistakes and bad decisions with such grave consequences. 10 years gone.
My cousin had her whole life in front of her a supervisor at a college and boyfriend. She was texting while driving and went under an 18 wheeler and is paralyzed from the neck down. Her mother is still taking care of her. Her mother is in her late 60’s. It has to be a horrible life for my cousin and her mother. I believe I would rather die than to live my whole life paralyzed.
Okay but what does having a provisional license have to do with the crash? We could say it is their fault for allowing their kid to get in a car with a young driver, or their fault for him thinking it’s okay and not following the rules. Let’s say the driver no longer had a provisional license, this still could have happened. This is about knowing where your kids are and who they are with. Especially in 8th grade.
This is very sad that this happened to this family, but the driver should not have been driving recklessly, he was drifting with the car, and damn if you want to do that kind of stunts go get training for stunting and do it on a closed course and where it's only the driver in the car not with innocent passengers in the car, people think it's fun to do this kind of stuff and the driver only had his license for a short time, my heart go's out to the family and friends of HUNTER
Maybe when we are texting and know the other person is driving we should just stop and tell them text me when you are stopped. If you are a passenger just say, please stop texting me as you are scaring me.
If you do not feel safe doing something don’t do it even if your friends are pressuring you to do it !! The drive made a poor decision and he should feel so ashamed !!!
The driver of the vehicle was not allowed to have other young passengers. The driver's parent knew this and allowed it to occur. The kid who died was trapped in the burning vehicle. So sad and unnecessary.

Say if you want to drift around a corner go buy a dirt track car that is legal for the track, and go racing, driving isn't to screw around, I'm 15 and to me driving gets you from one place to another, if I want to be cool, I'll buy me a racecar that's built for safety and having fun, and it might make you a little bit of money.
The driver is the killer. It was he's decision to make. Rest in peace Hunter. Texting and driving is the same thing you idiots. Whoever is texting, knowing the one receiving the test states they are driving. Should not text anymore until the texter is not distracted.

This is a very important message (being a good passenger!), but the title is misleading.....texting was NOT the cause of this death.
So what
M Detlef WOW so don’t drift? Brilliant.
But it was distracted driving
M Detlef yes it was the passengers where destructing the driver to make him drift which caused his unfortunate death
Audrey French Oh wow! Someone erred!
So nobody was texting? This should be called distracted driving.

everything is about choice
He was driving illegally for someone to supervise a provisional licensee they have to be 21 and have a valid license. No one in the car was 21.
