    This is completely dope AF, totally NTM and much-appreciated. Frank Black is the man and like the "other Frank" (Zappa) so terribly underrated despite being a once-in-an-epoch musical savant. D-mn this is one tight show. Thank you Mark Cox for hosting this (and in such amazing sound quality).

    Frank Black/Black Francis/Charles Thompson III is arguably the finest singer-songwriter that has ever lived.

      I consider FB one of "The Two Franks" (the other being Zappa): Both inspired , prolific, genre-expanding musical savants who somehow never received the full recognition they deserve(d). But yeah: FB is one of the best OAT. ANd he thanks Motorhead. F-ck yes. This show is so f-cking tight, I am impressed. Saw him live w/The Carholics and WOW! But this is amazing as well.

    OK, Mr. Black, Mr. Santiago AND They Might Be Giants! Epic show. "Hey, do you like Lipton tea?" he quips before they launch into "Parry the Wind". Ah, Frank Black: You're the man.Thanks again, Mark Cox!

    Frank Black on top of his game here. Maybe the best live capture of these amazing songs?

      Honestly this 1 I don't remember. But I do think it's famous recording known as 24 live maybe. Lot of this was easy to find back early days. And Frank was first on EMusic

    without knowing, i now have come full circle. i became addicted to the pixies, discovered frank black's solo stuff. and now i'm back listening to TMBG. what are the chances

      I'm listening to the Pixies because of TMBG now. I guess your direction is more like a climax though ;D

      I remember TMBG were first to setup a phone line you could dial a song. Don't remember how it worked. I believe Frank Black may have been first to put his music on emusic. something like that. I do remember emusic. I just checked but don't find him there. odd

    • @erikstigter7897
      @erikstigter7897 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dmarkcox Dial-a-song.. you just dialed that number and would get a randomised TMBG song through your phone.
      Pretty cool concept, pretty cool songs.
      TMBG were also on emusic.

      @dmarkcox Yeah, I remember Frank Black being one of the first (if not the actual first) to have his music for sale online. I recently looked it up to see if I remembered correctly, and couldn’t find anything either. Maybe I’m misremembering, or perhaps this is an example of the Mandala Affect (as opposed to the Mandela Effect)? 🤣

    thanks Don! you've made my day!! This show is FANTASTIC!! Only 10 minutes in and we have Frank, EDF, Joey Santiago, the Ramones, Motorhead, Tony Maimone and Nick Vincent!!

      This show you can kind of see Frank mood is changing. He tried to be social and courteous as a traditional artist. But we know that's just not going to work out. And I kind of hear in his voice on this
