How to Make a Springtrap Costume - ON A BUDGET!

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 29 ก.ย. 2024
- Learn how to make your very own Springtrap costume from Five Nights at Freddy's! I apologize for how long it took to make this, but I decided to post all the parts into one for y'all. There will be some stuff I do off-camera, like adding flesh, wires, and random touch-ups. This video is to show you the basic creation of it, and how you choose to spice it up is up to you :)
I GET A LOT OF COMMENTS REGARDING THE EYES - for my heads, I make the eyes removable using velcro. I then make two different sets of eyes, one for display that looks like the real thing, and the other one with mesh instead of paint so I can see. For the purpose of this mask, I add foam inside the head so my vision is from the mouth.
Make sure to check out @DaRegularSauce's and @Axestil's channels for a more in-depth tutorial for the hands!
The total cost for this suit for me to make was approximately $123.

Cooooooool dude
I can't stress eanough how helpful these tutorials are and how kind it is for you to go out of your way to make them. You are an inspiration and a legend, and i want to thank you for all that you have done, are doing, and will do. Bless you, and have a good one.
Thank you so much, this means a lot. 😁🙏
I second this sentiment so much! I have been wanting to have a Springtrap Cosplay for YEARS and always second guessed myself, but this actually makes it seem feasible for me to do!
Honestly with that cost and output, Blum house should hire him.
That'd be a dream!!
I watched this a couple time then followed the tutorial as close as possible then once I was finished I wore it to a convention and got lots of compliments
That's great to hear! Glad it helped 😁
These videos are so helpful they make me feel calm aswell
That's great to hear! Glad I can help 😁
God forbid, wearing this suit, he will repeat the fate of William
I’m watching this video while making springtrap! I hope it goes well because it’s my first time! I’m your new subscriber!
Thank you for supporting me! You'll do great!!

Nice! Put the springlocks inside the next time to make it more realistic!
wow,you are so good!
Thanks!
Hey! That looks so cool! Although, can you actually see through the suit? But that still is awsome+

New Halloween costume next year!
Nice i will do it
How about you make golden freddy from the movie. I really like the design.
I love you thx for this
What tools did you use for this project scissors glue gun etc.?
Scissors, glue gun, ruler, tape measure, Xacto blade, paint brushes
@@AyeJayDeeDIY what type of ruler?
Why do I have a feeling that he was watching Andimatronics Spring Bonnie tutorial while he was making this? Lol
First, I wasn't. Second, I don't think she's even made a Spring Bonnie suit?
@@AyeJayDeeDIY I meant to say the Glitchtrap suit, the one from help wanted. And I only said that cause I saw you watching a video, and most of the methods you did were in her video. It was just a small thing that I thought you might have done. Sorry if I offended you at all, it was just a thought.
Watching a video? I never watched a video lol. Are you talking about at 10:48 and 12:28? Because I was using a 3d model of Springtrap so I could get the scars right 😂
My smol brain cannot handle making this😢
It takes confidence and patience!
I love this!!!!!!!
Pls do goldenfreddy
U should make burn trap next
i just wonder how it hasnt gone dark in the video
What?
I’d you were selling this on eBay or something listed as an “official” FNaF item, I’d mistake this for being a licensed product. 🤯
🙏
I really want a springtrap costume so bad, but i barley have any knowledge to even make a costume 🙁🙁
This was the first ever costume I've made. It takes patience and confidence 😁
No way
How is the mouth moving 😮
Step 1: have talent
Ayo, how did you apply the second layer to the top of the foam?
Hot glue it while wrapping it around
How many inches should the triangles be? And how much foam in leangth
Measure how long the foam sheet is. Divide that number by a high number like 7-10. Say the foam sheet is 32 inches long, divide it by 8 so you get 4. 8 is the number of triangles, and 4 is how many inches the bottom of the triangle is. I usually make the height about 3.5 inches tall. Mark a line at the midway point of the 4 inch base on the triangle (2 inches) and draw a line straight up 3.5 inches. Then just use a straight edge/ruler to connect it from the top middle to the bottom sides. Hope this helps 😁
@@AyeJayDeeDIY thx sm! :P
how meany pieces of foam and fabric did u use? how meany did you buy?
I used about 2.5 rolls of foam and bought like 5 yards of fabric but had a lot left over
omg thanks i really want to make this next Halloween i just hope my parents let me buy the materials @@AyeJayDeeDIY
You are so talented I’m just wondering how much did this cost
Thanks! Check the description 😉
@@AyeJayDeeDIYdang keep at it
Does the hot glue hold on? Cause some times when i do stuff like this i have to maneuver in tge suit really carefully so it doesnt break or instick 😅
Make sure your hot glue gun is a low temp one
@ayejayd33 i see , thanks ill try that , but just in case , super glue doesn't work right? It would work like acid huh?
How do you measure the triangles for the top of the head. I am having difficulty measuring that.

@@AyeJayDeeDIYah! I found it! Thanks for sharing this!
Is a live?
A premiere is a pre-recorded video that is played at the same time for everyone. It acts like a live, but the video has already been made
How do you know the measurements for the triangles for the head? Sorry if it's a dumb question

How many of the foams and fabrics do i need?
I believe I used about 3 rolls and 6 yards of fabric
Hi! I’m trying to make the costume and I was wondering, how much foam and fabric do you need? Also I’m having a bit of trouble with the head.
I believe I used either 2 or 3 rolls of Fairfield 1 inch thick foam, and about 6 yards of olive green anti pill fleece. It's always good to buy more than less
@@AyeJayDeeDIYThank you! Also how much mesh did you buy?
I didn't use mesh, except for the jaw hinges but those were just scraps from around the house
This video is so unbelievably helpful! Based off the comments, it looks like I'm not going to be the only Freddy at Halloween this year!! Also if anyone has a local Clark Rubber, they have great foam that you can get In store (although I think it's only located in Australia).
Glad I can help 😁
Sorry for bothering but how can i buy foam the foam i found is too thin and too expensive what should i search for the foam in this video?
WE MAKIN IT OUT THE SPRINGLOCKS WITH THIS ONE 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
On a budget
Hi there! My name is Jerrel. I want to thank you for this amazing video. My son Michael Phoenix has been a fan of FNAF since the age of 4.He's now 12 years old. And the past years he had 2 dreams and hopes. His biggest wish was that one day they would make a FNAF movie. And that wish came through this year. Amazing movie. In the opening weekend here in The Netherlands/ Europe he got all dressed up with his Puppet suit i made for him. But his biggest wish always has been to have a spring trap costum. Every year here in The Netherlands we have a National tradition where we there's like a kind of 3 day festival from 2 p.m. till 3 a.m. where people all got dressed up with costumes and just party for three day. It's like a mix between Haloween, Mardi Gras, Cosplay kind a thing. Everyone in the are celebrating in the city in bars and on the street. So with the flow and energy of the FNAF movie he wanted a suit. And he showed me your video. Thank you so much for this video. You made my son the happiest kid on this side of the globe. Thank you. Keep making these video's and God bless you and your family! Greets From Jerrel
Hey Jerrel! I am so glad to hear this! This absolutely made my day, and I am so happy Michael's dreams could be fulfilled 😁 I wish you all the best 🙏
LOL btw ur sons name is michael right? theres someone in the games called michael lol
@@Tidlyz WAS THAT THE BITE OF 87?!?!!?!!!
Thanks for including the supplies list and where to find them and a rough estimate of the final cost… my son wants to be this for Halloween. I don’t consider myself very crafty but I might try this for him. And your tutorials seems easy to follow.
You're so welcome! I hope it goes well for you! He's gonna love it 😁
What a good father.
Ima do this when I’m a teen
Or
I will get one off a shop order idk what it’s called
How would you see tho?

@@AyeJayDeeDIYthanks😊
Your channel is growing so fast, you deserve it! 👍
Thank you so much 🙏
Despite saying it's Springtrap on a budget, it looks great for a costume. And the best part, it comes with a detailed and easy-to-follow tutorial!
🙏
yeah, "on a budget" means its cheap, not bad. dummy
I have some questions:
1- Approximately how many meters of fabric did you use in the cosplay?
2- what would you recommend to add details and depth to the texture of the fabric? I plan to use the felt fabric.
I saw some videos where some people used a spray that darkened some parts of the fabric, there was a guy who applied this spray between the cosplay's toes and it created a depth to the texture of the fabric.
1: I bought a total of 6 yards and still had a bunch left over. 4 should suffice.
2: felt can work
@@AyeJayDeeDIY Do you know of anything I can use to add details to the fabric, like shading?
I wanted to add a depth effect to some parts so they looked a little worn and dirty.
I just used black paint and it worked fine. I put some on a sponge and dab it on
@@AyeJayDeeDIYsorry if youve already answered this elsewhere, but how much foam should i buy for this project? is one roll of the one you have linked enough? it doesnt look like a lot & i want to make sure i get the right amount, i know product images online can be deceiving so i wanted to ask
I made my own Springtrap cosplay based on this tutorial. You have helped me so much bringing back my creativity because before I saw this, I thought making this cosplay would be almost impossible, but then I saw this video, watched it around 15 times, and now I am so happy with my new costume. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!

Hey man, thank you so much for making these videos. Without you, I would have never learned how to make these costumes. I learned how to build my Springtrap costume from this video and I'm using the same technique to build the whole FNAF 1 animatronics. Thanks again.

Yooo
How many yards of foam and fabric did you need for yours? I'm making a spring Bonnie and Don really have an idea on how much I'd need
I bought three rolls of foam and about 6 yards of fabric. I had quite a bit left over of each, but it's better to get more than less. The type of foam I get is in the description 😁
Stuck on the part where it says wrap it in a second layer
You hot glue another layer of foam around it

Omg thank you for this , i want to be springtrap for this halloween.😂
brother, thank you so much
most tutorial nowadays are full of 3d print
ye I know, they are good. but these low budget with foam are legends
How many packs of foam did you buy or was it only one
I believe I used about 2.5 packs of foam
How much of the foam/fabric do you recommend? I'm interested in maybe making this one day, but I don't want to not have enough supplies
I bought three rolls of foam and about 5 yards of fabric. I still have a bunch left over. It's better to be safe than sorry
You should name your channel ajd
Is there any tips I’m doing this soon
Be confident, patient, and have fun with it. There can be stressful points in making it, any many mistakes you'll encounter. But that's how you learn 😁
How long did this take you to make?
I didn't keep track
@@AyeJayDeeDIYoh ok
add some springlocks under it then pour water on yourself to become THE SPRINGTRAP
Now all we need is the springlo-*AHHHHHHHHH*
I’ll do this for my costume for 2024 Halloween maybe if my dad makes it.
How to make a Springbonnie suit with Springlock? Then can anybody tell me how to get a Springlock Failure please?
Wow a already very dangerous spring lock suit on a budget, what can go wrong!
Actually tho I thought the video of entertaining.
Plan on using this for making the Yellow Rabbit from the movie and I was wondering about a few things:
- How do you know how much foam and fabric you need?
- Is it necessary to put a 2nd layer of foam on the head?
- Can't remember if you said this in the video but how much did the whole costume cost?
I used 3 rolls of foam and about 4-6 yards of fabric. I always get more just in case. I recommend doing a second layer so it's sturdy and so it's the perfect size. It cost me almost $100 to make, but that doesn't mean it'll cost you that much to make it. I made sure to use discounts, use things from around the house, and buy stuff from thrift stores
I’m gonna make my dad William Afton because he looks vaguely similar to Matthew Lillard
Nice
I want to buy sprintral suit because im real fan od springtrap so, Does anyone know where to buy springtrap suit (maybe profesional)?
At your side I saw that the eyes of Freddy masks are really moving this means you are endangered
Was this hard to make or easy. And do you have to have any skills to make this
I really can't answer that question because everyone has different levels of experience. It just depends on how much time and effort you put in, as well how experienced you are in making stuff. It definitely wasn't easy, but it also wasn't hard. Some people may have different views on it. That's why I can't really answer this question
Thanks!
My son suggested nightmare foxy
Adoring the posture you’re rocking throughout the video😂😂 amazing result and great tutorial nonetheless👍👍 great work!
Gonna have a back brace in my 20s 😂 And thanks!
