This song actually over 50 years old. Michael Schenker co-wrote this when he was 17, and it is from the 1974 album "Phenomenon" by UFO. The best version is from UFO "Strangers in the Night", largely considered one of the best live albums ever.
Michael Schenker is one of the greatest guitarist to ever draw breath: a true star and individualist. This song dates from his early years in the British heavy rock band, UFO, in the mid-70s. He’s had his troubles with alcohol but is still out there, still killing it with his extraordinary skill. Lots of players can really play, not as many have a history of writing great riffs, Melodie’s and solos as Schenker has over the years. And, of course, he can really play.
You replied already ..thanks ladies .....go for molly hatchet..you must of heard of them ..boogie no more ..put it up now .ill stop up and wait lol ❤❤❤
Michael released the album, My Years With UFO, A 50th Anniversary Celebration in September 2024 where he rerecorded 11 songs from his UFO years with guest Rock artists such as Slash, Axl Rose, Erik Grönwall, Carmine Appice, and many more.
All right my lovely ladies.... I have heard of this group, but I really never checked out their material except with the material they did with guitarist Neil Schon from the group Journey. This rocks and I like stuff that rocks ‼️💯🔥🎸🥁🎸🎤🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
When this German guitarist (Michael Shank-er ) was with "UFO" back in the early 80's, I got to seen them in Chicago.Earlier on Playing alongside his Brother in the Scorpions just wasn't his thing, so he left to blaze his own trail. He is now 70 yrs old, and still plays on the big stages around the world as MSG. Many of his songs have solos, that are as long as the song is. It's crazy how he can remember them all. He had some big hits along the way too. Doctor Doctor, Only you can rock me, Attack of the mad axeman, but my favorite to this day is "Lights Out".
Michael Schenker (pronounced "shank herr' 😁) is a guitar legend from (West) Germany and the younger brother of Rudolf Schenker, guitarist and founder of Scorpions... In fact, Michael Schenker was a teen when he co-wrote & played lead guitar on Scorpions' debut album 'Lonesome Crow' in 1972 ... In 1973, he left Scorpions to join UK rock band U.F.O. and co-wrote a number of their major hits like 'Rock bottom'... 'Doctor Doctor' ... 'Lights out'... 'Too hot to handle'... (Metallica's lead guitarist Kirk Hammett is a huge fan) ...on the U.F.O. albums - 'Phenomenon' (1974)... 'Force it' (1975)... 'No heavy petting' (1976)... 'Lights out' (1977)... 'Obsession' (1978) and the live album 'Strangers in the night' (1979) In 1979, Michael Schenker quit U.F.O. over a dispute and briefly rejoined Scorpions - he played on their 1979 album 'Lovedrive' ... before bailing on the band again... He formed the Michael Schenker Group (M.S.G.) soon after and established the band in the 80's... The band was McAuley Schenker Group (also M.S.G.) for 4 albums (from 1987 to 1993) w/ singer Robin McAuley and had hits like - 'Gimme your love' ... 'Save yourself' ... "When I'm gone" ... 'Anytime'... Michael Schenker also joined the L.A. band Ratt as a touring guitarist in 1991 after their guitarist Robbin Crosby was out due to alcohol and drug abuse. Michael Schenker reunited w/ U.F.O. and recorded the albums - 'Walk on water' in 1995... 'Covenant' in 2000... 'Sharks' in 2002... but quit the band again, his struggles w/ alcoholism to blame for his erratic behavior and unwillingness to tour... He also released M.S.G. & solo albums during these years... Thankfully, Michael Schenker sobered up in recent decades and began touring w/ renewed popularity after 2010, and released numerous albums under the names - Michael Schenker Group ... Temple of Rock ... Michael Schenker Fest... However, Michael Schenker's relationship w/ brother Rudolf Schenker of Scorpions has deteriorated in recent years... the guitarist publicly attacked Rudolf in the press for career moves & creative choices w/ Scorpions... Michael has also worked w/ former Scorpions members Francis Buccholz (bass) and Herman Rarebell (drums) in his solo band. This performance was for M.S.G.'s 30th anniversary tour in 2010 in Japan (Schenker rotates band members frequently)... w/ Gary Barden on vocals. Also Neil Murray (bass), Simon Phillips (drums) and Wayne Findlay (keyboards/ guitar) ...Michael Schenker just turned 70 yrs of age.
Been a huge fan of Michael Schenker for over 45 years. Finally got to see him live in Vancouver in 2019 and he was sensational! Incredible guitar player, composer and performer!
Thank you, Kathy and Donna, for reacting to my request !! I know it took a little while to get to it, but WELL worth the wait !! I have so much more to request and share with you. What is the best way to do priority requests ? You ladies ABSOLUTELY ROCK !!
Hi ladies I haven't heard this band in 30 years either lol and have lulu at the tip of the boat too and you ladies look beautiful today. Wintersun Alex and Cathy ❄️❄️⛄
michael is the brother of Rudolf SCHENKER from Scorpions he also was in Scorpions later he left and went on a solo career he also was in UFO he is a great guitar player
Michael Schenker has been around 43 years, not counting the many years he was with UFO before that. I don't think the other guys have though. The singer might have had a stint with him back in the days of the MSG. I wish the request was for te version from their Strangers n the Night LP. Rock Bottom was a UFO song first.
Michael is one of the best guitarists bar none. He was the original lead guitarist and founding member of the Scorpions at 16 years old. He left the Scorpions to join UFO. When Michael joined UFO he was the only guitarist. He played this song LIVE as the sole guitarist. You need to hear the UFO song “Love to Love”. It’s one of the best songs ever written. It’s an all time favorite of mine. Michael was a big influence on many of the 80’s Metal guitarists. Steve Harris of Iron Maiden’s favorite band is UFO and favorite song is “Love to Love”. Iron Maiden’s sound was inspired by the UFO song “Doctor, Doctor” which they play STILL to this day as their warmup song before every show. “Love to Love” by UFO th-cam.com/video/hIBhwWbviFw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=igVhQw53h4JwTnAB
My new favorite gals !! Michael Schenker has a brother named Rudolph and he’s in a very popular band called Scorpions; they’re from Germany! Michael is one amazing lead guitarist.
UFO! MS is one of the best. very influential for a lot of other metal and hard rock guitarists. One of which is Kirk Hammett of Metallica who is a huge fan.
Michael Schenker is one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. Started out with the Scorpions as a 16 year old, was the. Poached by English rock band, UFO. This song is from the UFO album Phenomenon from 1974 and, to my mind is still the best version. Possibly the best melodic guitar solo of all time. Schenker recorded 5 albums with UFO before briefly returning to the Scorpions and then starting up his own band, The Michael Schenker Group. His best work was undoubtedly with UFO though.
Donna, you might be familiar with his old band, UFO's song called Too Hot To Handle, which was one of the last things he did with them before leaving for the first time. He played in a little club about 5 miles from here a couple of years ago, and I passed up going. I think he was down to a trio at that point. All UFO and MSG songs will light you up pretty much like this one. Glad you two dig it!!
UFO: "Space Child" and "Doctor Doctor". the early years of the Scorpions before he moved to UFO at the age of 17 Michael is the little brother of Rudolf Schenker, the founder of the Scorpions.
FYI Michael Schenker's older brother is Rudolph Schenker bassist for the scorpions...a founding member of Scorpions???...catching the wave?.. Michael started his career with them...left the scorpions...picked up with UFO....as this song is a UFO song.....then he went out on his own and formed MSG of which there have been several incarnations..at one point MSG stood MCcauly Schenker Group....so....there you go!!......
Michael Schenker is an all time legend, giant influence on all 80s hard rock bands. You need to hear the originals he made with UFO, both audio and live. This guitarist is no joke. This was a good version but listen to UFO, the live Strangers in the Night version blows away 99% of the rock bands from his era (70s/80s). The original MSG also does a better version on Rockpalast 1981 or so. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎶🔥
I love MSG. From way back in the 80s and even before with UFO with Michael schenker and when he was in scorpions with his brother. And I love the band too when it was called the McAuley schenker group. You should react to the band kix Don't close your eyes. Back from the 80s also
Michael played in the Scorpions (Rudolph his older brother started the Scorpions), for 2 albums. Check out the Love drive album, especially another piece of meat.
Ladies..how about some ..molly hatchet. Im a brit but i love molly hatchet..southern rock ...fall of the peacemakers or boogie no more ..PLEASE...thanks ❤❤❤
I prefer rock/metal where you can make out the lyrics and the harmony goes somewhere. This is just a loop of edgy mumbling coming at you. He could be saying anything.

Exactly. Well said.

The guitarist was in the band UFO ( lights out in London, doctor doctor) Also guitarist brother is the guitarist from scorpions. ❤

Michael is the little brother of Rudolf Schenker, the founder of the Scorpions.
You guys are hilarious!
Yep, Michael is THE guitarist. Gary Barden on vocals.
Indeed and Neil Murray on bass, old colleague of John Sykes, who sadly died just recently, from their time in Whitesnake.
You will know his brother, Rudolf. He's one of the guitarplayers with Scorpions. 🤘
I hope these guys realize they have their own Mama’s Family vibe thing going on big time.
A most enjoyable reaction. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
You need to check out Their song "Gimme your Love". At tbis point Robin McCauley joined as lead singer and they became the McCauley - Schenker Group.
