      I don’t Ron. Frankly speaking, I don’t like social media. I do research on Google and TH-cam. It’s enough for me. I can tell you that I’ve been learning a lot with these sources, acquiring lots of skills that I didn’t have. Now a days my target is to improve them, mainly the ones related to Athearns Blue Boxes. I’m really very found of them! 😊

      Them = the Athearns. Although I like my (not so many) skills…😊

    Thanks for this video. I noticed your shelving unit in the first video I watched and it peaked my curiosity. I, too, have a variety of trains and would like to display them, but my woodworking skills are not very good. I think I may be able to follow your pattern, though. Oh, yes, I subscribed because I like your approach to model trains.

      Thanks for the Sub and all your great comments. I enjoy the feedback that my vids are making an impact on those that watch them. I hope you get a shelve unit or two made up to display your collection proudly :-)

    So Kool I like it!!!! You could also back the unit with a 4/8 sheet of 1/4 inch ply it will cost a little more but it will be more rigid an durable! Just a thought? Thank You! I Say

      I thought about the plywood idea, but I wanted to see my wood walls thru the shelves. I should have brought up the plywood idea in the vid. Thanks for your nice comment!

      Thanks for the informative video. I share my train space with the rest of the basement which is dusty. would you suggest adding a plexiglass panel?

    I need to finish my shop walls. I've used drywall on the ends, but would like something different for the other 2 walls that will withstand a bit more abuse in a work area. Are you pleased with the price and performance of the pine wall boards? Thanks.

    • @classicmodeltrains
      @classicmodeltrains  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 2X6 Tounge and groove boards are 12' long and were $12 and some change when I build this cabin 7 years ago. The boards are now mid $20's or higher. Makes a really expensive wall covering. Very good surface for nailing / screwing stuff to. Does take a lot of abuse but I think next time I will go with a sanded wainscoting 4X8 sheet interior plywood or a T111 exterior. Same general look but much cheaper in material and labor to install.

    • @avlisk
      @avlisk 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      $20 Ouch! I have 12' ceilings in my garage, so maybe T111 on the bottom and dry wall above. I guess there's no inexpensive way to do it any more. Thanks.@@classicmodeltrains
