    Push the eyes down with a pencil eraser. Works very well.
    Great pattern, by the way. Thank you.

    Great pattern! Craft fur is just fishy! I tie a similarly tied fly with ripple ice fiber. Thanks for the videos! Love them!

      loubrownguy69 you’re welcome. I like ripple ice fiber. I tend to gravitate towards flashy materials and you can’t get much flashier than ripple ice fiber.

      New England Streamers Thank you very much like anything it takes just a little bit to get on to but once you do it’s a great material

      Keith Gillogly I do too. It’s usually what I tie when I get bored from commercial tying.

    Great pattern, Shawn!
    I have found that I get more consistent results if I cut my craft for “hide” into squares and then trim those individually as needed. Just thought that tip may help someone out there.

      Ron Porreca I will have to try that. Thanks for tip.

      Also, I have a question. Do you keep the “underfur” to use for dubbing?

    • @HolsingersFlyShop
      @HolsingersFlyShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ron Porreca I have not done that. You easily could. I think it would be great for blending dubbing and adding to a natural material like squirrel or rabbit. I’ll admit, I’m lazy. I’ve wanted to try blending dubbing but having a shop with access to multiple kinds and colors of dubbing has kept me from doing it. It would definitely work though.

      I have not tried to blend yet either, but I think I will start saving some craft fur to try it out!

      @@ronporreca9574 Absolutely keep it.Blend it with cut up angelina fiber and give it a spin in the coffee grinder.

    I’m going to tie a couple up and give them a try.
    If you were going to target holdover or wild rainbows, what would be your choice of colors for some winter streamer fishing.
    Thanks for the videos. I seem to learn something new every time I watch your tying!

      Rahn Tressler thank you very much. Here in my area our streams have lots of black nosed dace in them. So I tie this to match a dace, white belly, black stripe down the middle, brown back. Also a cream or white with a brown back works well.

    So enjoy your videos.Does the fact that your vise wobbles so much drive you crazy?

    Shaw, nice pattern! Do you attach it to the leader with a loop knot and how do you fish it?

    • @HolsingersFlyShop
      @HolsingersFlyShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly haven’t tried the loop knot. I just saw a reel the other day showing how to tie it and thought to myself I really need to give that a try but I haven’t yet. I mostly fish this for smallmouth, down and across giving it a strip or two every now and then.
