    Great course. I see that under the "Milling Schedule" , Payability units appear in oz instead of %. Is that a typo?

    Can you please explain why breakeven gold doesn't equal AIC? AIC covers all the company costs. Do you explain this in the course? If so, I'll buy...if not, can you explain it here and I'll still buy :)

    Thank you so much for your time. I wanted to ask you is the fmva certification enough for a company to hired me? I am really taking your course for my own business and because I want to go into the stock market. But I would like to know just incase?

      online certificates are definitely not enough for company hire, you need proven results and experience from internships or work then any of your online certs will be useful. To learn and not do, is not learning at all. I work in investment bank as analysts, and asked the recruiter on my friends behalf on this. But this could be different for other companies depending on the industry and size, but most of the cases this is what happens

    Wouldn't you want to stay away from a DCF model for mines and other companies with high earning variation? Like a P/B multiple method?

    • @CFI_Official
      @CFI_Official  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes there is a lot of earnings volatility in mining, however, a life-of-mine DCF model is still the preferred way to value a mining asset

    I was working through the DCF quiz. The given answer 0.8227 to the question: " Imagine we are currently in the year 2017. At a fixed 5% annual discount rate, what is the discount factor of the year 2020?" appears wrong. My excel calculation shows that the answer is 0.8638. Am I missing something?

    • @estheraitcheou2170
      @estheraitcheou2170 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. You have to count 2017 in. So the discount rate is discounted by 4. This will give you the first result. I hope that helps!!

    Why does the total mining cost exclude waste? Isn't that understating the mining cost? Obviously you mine both ore and waste. Also how is the transportation of waste to the dump accounted for if you are only referencing Mill Feed?

    • @CFI_Official
      @CFI_Official  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi,
      The cost per tonne mined takes into account that the waste has to be mined as well, hence, it doesn't have to be added on.
