I met a SEAL once. He had a personal presence that made the hairs stand up and your heart beat a little faster... and he was just visiting our boat and smiling and stuff. Something about the eyes, I think. Like when a tiger at he zoo makes eye contact with you and you suddenly feel like prey. Amazing humans. We are lucky they are out there.

My EX brother in Law had a friend growing up who became a seal. He was always at the house hanging out when not out doin what they do, lol.
I lived with my sister over the course of seeing him for about 5 years. From about 16 years old to 22, I saw this guy.
I knew he was a seal, but I was young, and it was not until later in life did I truly understand the pure BEAST MODE of a human I was around all those years.

OMG my brother Richard served on the USS Bainbridge as a radio/telegraph operator way back in 1955 thru 1960 and only served one tour. He did not care much for the assignment as there were many high ranking individuals onboard. It did however got him a jump start on his future employment in the computer world. I on the other hand chose a different career and went into the US Army with the 82 Airborne and 11th Airborne in Germany and eventually attended Officers candidate school and ended up in Vietnam in two tours once as a LT and the second tour as a Cpt being wounded both tours and medivaced. I retired as a Cpt in 1975. I am so proud of these guys in how the handled those pirates in some cases ended any future pirate nonsense. I am 85 years old and now retired as a police office here in Marina California. Several of my fellow officers harassed me about being The Old Guy , however nine of them have passed away, some being the young guys, however several of them were honest hard working cops. Retirement is great. Thanks GOD the getting old stuff works.

Hello Captain...thank you for your varied career of military service and community protection. I admire guys like you. I did 23 years in the Navy, stationed aboard six different ships, one year VN incountry, and two years in Athens, Greece on a ship. I was a Navy E9 at time of retirement...Master Chief Petty Officer. I am 77 now...catching up to you, Kenneth. I salute you, buddy. And yes, thank God in Heaven...but Jesus, God's son, is right here among us if our heart and mind is right. From an old Navy saying, "May you have fair winds and following seas." Take care, Skipper.

I don't like how they repeatedly refer to the Seal Team as: Killers, killing machines, attack dogs wanting off their leash, etc.
Like any special ops teams from around the world, they are extremely well trained specialists. They spend an inordinate amount of time honing their skills.
I notice its not mentioned where they perform missions and no one knows about it including saving lives.
As the wife of a veteran who served over 24 years in the Army, we want peace through strength. Thank GOD, we have those willing to use their skill sets anywhere and perform what looks impossible.
May GOD bless these folks and their families.

I was the team Sniper in the Vietnam War (2/502 Infantry, 101st Airborne) We were always in a "free fire zone", the A Shaw Valley ("Hamburger Hill") 330 Days of my tour. I never saw a village or villagers. I'm amazed at these guys abilities and training. It was an extremely dense jungle area and my job was to protect my team. I had a "Bamboo Viper" craw inches in front of my boot. A tiger crossed in front of me ... and I doubt I could do the training they did. Sadly I hope they are beyond the memories I still live with at 75 years of age.... I never experienced the glory of our success. I only remember my lost fellow Troopers.
At least I never waited for ANY permission to fire. I was only dealing with NVA.

I was worried how he would handle it, as a father I never raised my hand to him or his brothers, it was the old; "Go to your room". I'm dying from so many health issues related from Dioxin Poisoning (Agent Orange) as my appointed VA Hospital in Colorado ... I move to Australia to work as a teacher after 9 years Army. It's not perfect, but at least we have free health care, subsidized college and NO GUNS unless your job requires them and then you need to do a course. I watch those MAGA Trump lovers in shock???? In the small village I grew up in Michigan, if you were in need, illness, neighbors came by to help you or drive you to the hospital....instead you have door bell camera! Shooting kids in school? I had planned to take my Australian Wife for one last visit, but it's too dangerous ... I won't own a gun and in my life I ended way too many lives /// sure none civilians like the NVA and VC had done in the same area. There I said it... I promised my wife I would never repeat what happened ... I'm 100% disabled so I can fly for free from Australia to almost any US Base ... even for free I won't put my beautiful wife in danger of 32 years. Be safe with yourself and your family.@@Zilla-r3h

Thank you for sharing your story! I am humbled. I am only 37 years old. I know as much as I can, from many text books, articles, documentaries, etc. About the Vietnam War.
Clearly, not there, so my understanding is just a tiny TINY scratch on the surface.
For Some reason that war, in particular, has been the one I have been drawn to learn about the most over the years. I remember my dad having about 25 books. All had many color pictures. Pictures of men on the battle field. Stories written about those men. Who they were, what the felt. The stories of the men out there. It was a series of encyclopedia type books on that war. At 10 I used to study those books. I still Have them.
      Absolute tragedy.
My dad was sent in, to be drafted.
The physical he had at 19 showed he had to many health problems. They did not want him. They sent him home. Married my mom and walla, here I am!
Your son, and his daughter (me) have fathers that had very different outcomes in regards to this war.
I am sure your son is proud of you...fighting for our country, just as I am proud of my dad for what he was prepared to do if needed.
The U.S. has turned into a very different place. Even in just MY lifetime i have seen it. I fear to send my kids to school. Imagine that! This is something my parents NEVER would have taken a second thought of. Things have changed.
I am glad you are in a country where you feel safe!
Where you are getting the care you need. The support you need. It makes me sad to think you had to go to another COUNTRY to get this. We should be taking care of our vets!!
Good bless you and your family!

We spent just over 330 days in the jungle as we didn't work from a fire support base like most units ... that meant our water we drank contained dioxin (Agent Orange) as we got it from the streams and rivers .... my own government KILLED us! All the presidents since JFK through to Ford were informed that the defoliant had 3-5 times that SAFE amount of dioxin... killing over 300,000 Vietnam Veterans AFTER they got back home... five times the amount killed by the NVA and VC Armies did combined.

USA are proud of their Seals and rightly so, same as UK with our SAS. They have been known to work together, and train in each others backyards as such. Unfortunately a lot of their operations will be classified. In the UK they have only really been seen in public as such inconnection with the Embassy takeover in the 80s which brought World wide media attention. Makes u wonder what the world would be like today without these highly trained incognito soldiers, and how many missions they have all undertaken apart from the excellent take down of Bin Laden, that are classified and the world will never know. Hats off to all of these groups worldwide

If you follow the trial of the one pirate who was arrested, the one one went to the USS Bainbridge, it didn’t go according to the movie. In fact the defense attorney ripped the Navy apart. It wasn’t three shots three kills. It was about 35 shots, one kill, two wounds. One SEAL went to the lifeboat and killed the other two. And the bag with $35,000 came up missing. NCIS and the FBI investigated for months but it went nowhere. It no doubt was incredibly brave mission, including jumping out of a plane at night directly into the Indian Ocean, then inflating a boat while in the ocean. But the facts are the facts and not the movie. Research the trial of the pirate.

      @albertomoniz9051 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@gib59er56 to answer everyone's questions none military ships are not allowed to carry weapons on board in the majority of ports in the world, some merchant ships hire private companies to protect them and their weapons are airlifted to the ship via helicopter when the ship is usually 60 miles away form port when it is traveling towards pirate waters and when it's done passed, the same procedure happens again wepons air lifted of and then the ship will dock near a port and let the security off. They are expensive and some ship owners don't want to pay the relay on Nato ships but there aren't enough of them to protect all the cargo and cruise ships the travel in that part of the world.
