Not "was", it still "is". Just like Driver, it wasnt a good game but rather it is a good game. I will tackle Colin McRae/Dirt at some point but right now, i still have the rest of the Toca/RaceDriver/Grid franchise in front of me.
First Racing game i ever played. I was like 5 years old and my dad bought it or got itgifted by someone ( my dad never really game but he was an IT guy) Just seeing the menu's the cheatcoses, the tracks... holyshit pure nostalgia
Thanks, mate. Hope you are doing fine with your channel and grinding towards the top. Even without this channel, i just prefer to play stuff that isnt big or has a massive following (for the most part). Ya know, like Divers Dream, Demolition Girl , Empire of Angels, Darkwatch, Anarchy Reigns, etc. And yes, there will be a lot obscure stuff to come.........alongside some well known stuff from time to time. The obscure stuff (hidden gem, niche game or whatever you wanna call it) is my home. But TOCA isnt really obscure considering that the franchise technically is still going to this day and it had three titles on the PS1 alone.
@dragondavemk7917 Wow they have a strong tenure in the gaming world. Yeah I tend to slip into that obscure gamer genre too. Those games have the most creativity since they didn't have a high budget and deadlines to meet.
@@ScorpioandSebek Well, every dev team has a deadline. But obscure games tend to show the more creative side of the developers mainly because of the budget. Limited budget usually encourages/enforces creativity so the game can stand out among all others and the devs often have to find a workaround to certain problems they may have during development..........or at least make the game unique. While high budget tends to have the opposite effect of this. Not saying that high budget games are bad in general but (especially today) they tend to give the player the same experience over and over again and dont take risks nor are the devs very creative with what they present (exceptions always exists however).
Its easy if you know how to drive (play racing games a lot). If you dont, then it can be a nightmare for newcomers (Toca isnt really beginner friendly). But sure, overall i also think its better than the first...........even better than Toca World (also did a video about it). However, the trilogy is GOAT level on the PS1 and in some aspects, absolute top dog even compared to the more successful franchises like GT.
Colin Mcrae Rally was another good one back in the day

My mom still wishes she could play this game 😂
Based mom right there.
If she doesnt have a PS1 anymore, then Toca 2 is also on PC (at least physically. I dont know if its on Steam as well)
Toca 2 is so easy , is better the first
