The Marquesas Art Festival · French Polynesia

The Marquesas Art Festival happens every two years on a different island from this archipelago: Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Ua Pou, Tahuata, Ua Huka or Fatu Hiva.
It celebrates the art of the Marquesas and you can see many different kind of artists: sculptors, tattoo artists, dancers, musicians, painters, ... Every archipelago sends a delegation with its best artists to represent them at the festival. There are many shows with dancers who also sing and perform the music live. You have the possibility to buy traditional sculptures and art.
The Festival lasts a few days. During this whole time, you can discover the culture of the Marquesas archipelago. It's a very unique opportunity to meet people from all the different islands.
The Festival filmed in this video was the Ua Pou edition, in 2019. The next festival will be in 2023 on the island of Hiva Oa. The following Marquesas festival will be in 2025.
