I absolutely LOVE this kettle with all its great features! However, I guess it would have thrown a negative light on the advertisement to mention that the body of this kettle gets EXTREMELY hot! I actually had to devise a couple of hot pads to permanently stay wrapped around it to void accidentally hitting my hand against it. So, just be mindful of that.
I bought one 2 or 3 years ago. Used it a dozen times and it stopped getting hot. Everything Ivebought by them a steam oven, electric can opener all fail. The PerfecTemp is in a box in a closet waiting.
I had an off brand that I bought 10 years ago and used it with the exception of the 2 weeks The PerectTemp was working. The Aroma Brand, It still works fine.
Not good at all. We have had three of these in the last three years. The fancy temperature feature sounded good but the fact that they always died a bit over a year is very annoying. The last one started to leak in less than 10 months. We decided to go with something else.
But then I called Cuisinart. Did you know it has a 3 year warranty? I just have to send the old one back in a prepaid shipping package once I get the new one, which I think it will be soon. I assumed it was the base but it could be something else like the motherboard inside the kettle.
This kettle has a severe design flaw. The "Keep warm" button tends to be pressed as well when you press the "Start" button, and there is no intuitive feedback about the "Keep warm" status. The kettle will then boil the water until nothing is left. Very annoying, power wasting and dangerous when you burn yourself with the steam.

I have the European version of this kettle and I highly recommend it.

With daily heavy use after a short while the lettering wears off......Too expensive to have that happen.
Returned it for a full refund.
Yeah this kettle was the tipping point for giving all of my Cuisinart away. I was done paying lower high-end prices for mediocrity at best.

i have one and doesn't work anymore. it only last for 1 1/2 years.
I also have one in London, where the thermostat packed up after 2 years, and rendered the kettle completely useless. Will not buy this brand again.
