Hi Dani! Thanks for the lovely reaction. This is one of my favorite live Carpenters performances so the synergy with Tori, to me was chilling. Oh, both Karen and Tori are/were 20 for this same performance. That this was 1970 technology and sounds as good as it did out on the hospital lawn, amazing. And yes the harmonies were live with the band. Usually it’s just Karen and Richard but when live it’s all the musicians. As you’re young, the introduction voice was Ed Sullivan. Joe ❤
I think NOW was her last recording, a beautiful lady with a great arrangement by Richard, i remember seeing an Interview with Karen's Best friend Olivia Newton John who said it was so painful seeing her in her last days, & also said no one could hold a candle to Karen.
@@chrisalldis3375 you are correct. Oh and to complete the synergy Tori can do a bone chilling homage to Olivia. On her channel check out Magic, Never Been Mellow and I Honestly Love You. So you may think she sounds like Karen? Explain ON-J. 🤷🏻♂️ That’s range.
Remember this is with 1970 audio equipment done totally live in the middle of a field!....Incredible! By the way, early Carpenters indeed did "jazzy medley's" hence the speeded up version of some of these songs...
Thank you Dani for this wonderful reaction i grew up listening to there music they were fantastic her voice blows me away every time so thank you get well soon and happy new year x
This is why I asked Dani to do Tori as a part 2. For the first time in 53 years this Medley was covered correctly and beautifully. A tribute act did it 4 years ago but altered it. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. And there’s a lot more from this young songbird. Also 20 at this point like Karen in the video.
Karen Carpenter the best female drummer ever IMHO and to most of the music industry. Best selling american group in the 70's thru all the bad press they received. They are unbelievable. Great reaction to a legendary group.
I thought her last performance was Now where she died several months later because she had just gotten out of the hospital. It's really hard to watch Now
Amazing ... as this is the only video you can hear Burt Bacharach songs though jazzed by the iconic Carpenters. Sadly, so many of Burts songs and those done by Dionne Warwick .... NONE of her songs can be done on TH-cam sadly.....
To be truthful I prefer the songs they did of others by the singers who did them originally. I'm listening to music since 58 so I'm familiar with mostly all unless there off an album. Karen had the most beautiful voice ever Hard to believe shes gone over 40 yrs.
"I'd rather be watching Dani" W/OUT the busted Black Eye she had on the Riders on the Storm reaction video. Dani is a Great Singer and has endless Talent. So glad she got rid of the punk that blasted her left eye. You Go Girl. Dani Atkinson. YOU ARE A STAR. Signed Mike, an old dude that was part of many hits in the 60's and 70's
Oh I forgot..... Dani..... no one reacts to her/their song by the Carpenters - Please Mr Postman. It is a throwback song to the 60s done in the 70s.... I always love the song.... Dani you could react to that if possible..... even if somehow putting the words Copyright over it to get it through.
It’s a great song and an adorable video at Disneyland. I’ve seen numerous reactions. Always a nice upbeat song. Also one of 8 Beatles covers. Though they covered it, too.
Such a good video to showcase all of Karen's and Richard's skills and show how good they were live. Thanks for doing this one.
I love it when you react to all the videos especially THE CARPENTERS!!!👍👍👍🥳🥳🥳
LOVE KAREN!! Broke my heart when she died. I was high school when it happened. The world lost a great talent.
Outstanding performance. One of my favourite live performances of all time.
The most beautiful voice of all time, coming up to 41 years since we lost her.

Hi Dani: Just a quick add. Karen was only 20 years old here. Pure talent!
And as I noted is Tori for the part 2 feature. 20 is a magical age, I guess. 💖❤️

I hope 2024 is going great for you DANI!!!👍👍👍🥳🥳🥳
Take care of yourself and get better soon DANI!!!👍👍👍😀😀😀🥳🥳🥳
One of the greatest selling groups of the 70s.
The best selling American Group of the 70’s. (ABBA took world wide)
Thank you Dani. Loved it

this is incredible ! The change of tempo, the stop and starts ...wow !
Karen sang lovely but at the same time was a Force to be reckoned with!

Karens voice and drumming were incredible and Richard composing, singing, writing incredible. Love The Carpenters and always miss Karen. ❤❤
Snow at last. Rain here in VA. and Mondays Alway Get Me Down. Great show.Thanks.
Great to see Karen on Drums. She has such a beautiful voice. Thank you for your reaction. Get healthy soon!

The magic of the Carpenters.
They were just getting started here. The majority of their biggest hits were still ahead of them at this point.

Karen and the Carpenters were amazing back then. I had just turned 11 in 1970, and I loved Carpenters music from the first time I heard them.
Richard is a great arranger as well as writer.
Thanks Dani!

Dani has a voice also, Karen has a voice of an ANGEL. Dani is kinda close to an Angel voice and i mean that as a compliment
Thank you!
Karen called herself "A drummer who sings" Well at least we have Tori Holub today!
TYD 💖🥰💖
❤
At the tender age of eight I fell in love with Chryssie Hynde.

Karen always considered herself as a drummer first and s singer second.
Feel better and please update. ❤❤
Karen was 20 years old.
