Aguirre: This is the 1st time I've experienced in my 40 years of practice that judge lectures lawyers. Hindi po tama yung ganun.

I agree that both parties have their faults but watching the "ear covering video" again Senator-Judge Santiago herself is trying to be nice to the prosecution panel in airing her concerns in order to correct the mistake before it happens. I do believe that Senator-Judge Santiago would not berate the prosecution panel if they're doing things correctly. Sadly enough, when Atty. Aguirre explained his view, he acted like he was "astig" and if he was more knowledgeable than any of the lawyers.

Oo, normal. Pero kalakip nun, nababawasan yung kredibilidad ng pleading na sinampa ng abogado sa hukom. Nakakahiya sa kliyente yun. Sa kaso ng impeachment, isa sa pinaka kontrobersyal na uri ng kaso sa larangan ng batas ng bansa, hindi basta basta na dapat nag wiwithdraw dahil sensitibo ang kaso na to. Kung sa usual na cases pa nga lang baka pwede ka na ma technical dismissal ng judge pag nainis sa withdrawal at grounds for withdrawal mo kung sakaling baluktot, paano pa kaya sa impeachment? Panyero naman.

At kaya nga nasermonan paulit-ulit ang prosekyusyon ay dahil, pangatlo, paulit-ulit din na walang sustansya ang nga argumento na galing sa kanila mula sa "Mr. Anonymous" at sa "100 witnesses" na naging 15 na lang sa huli (swerte nanalo pa din prosekyusyon). At masesermonan ka talaga lalo dahil sa asal mo bilang abogado. Imagine, gawin yan ng isang attorney sa harap ng judge, yang pag takip ng tenga habang on-going ang proceedings.

Meron kang karapatan mag object ano ba. Maski nga RTC at MTC o kahit moot court lang pwede ka mag object SO LONG AS, at ikaw na din nag sabi, Aguirre, na dapat i-recognize ka muna. Di ka ba makakahintay? Gaano ka ba kaimportante?
"Kahit po na ang mga senador ay mga judges at kami po ay hamak na mga prosecutor lang dito, ang mahalaga sa tao ay RESPETO."
Utang na loob. Nasa HEARING ka. Kung abogado ka, you submit to the judge, plain and simple. Abogado ka for 40 yrs pero hindi mo alam ang pinaka basic na realidad sa larangan ng batas? As early as law school pa lang tinuro na to. Di ba kayang maging propesyunal at isantabi muna ang lalambot-lambot na damdamin? Imagine sabihin yan ng isang abogado sa usual na hearing "judge respetuhin mo naman ako" tignan ko lang kung di ka madismiss at ma reprimand with matching suspension mula sa Bar. Bruh.

@jackbaguio Unfortunately, that's not how it works in a court, much less Impeachment Court. You really cannot ARGUE nor ADMONISH a judge. There are proper ways to file for a complaint (or motion for a judge to inhibit) if one lawyer thinks a judge is impartial, corrupt, disrespectful, etc, and not by covering one's ears. It's like teacher-student relationship. Only a teacher can admonish you, not the other way around. If you think the teacher is wrong, go to a principal and file a complaint.

Technically, Aguirre was wrong. For me its nice to have these kinds of senators (Miriam) so to challenge citizens who aspire to work on an environment like this. Playing while still abiding the rules of the court is the key here. People who take Miriam's words personally are weak in this kind of environment.

In another note, we must remember that we are the one paying Atty. Aguirre since they are paying him tax payer's money. In this context that we can say that we are the one who is paying a lawyer that didn't know how to inhibit in court proceedings then later blatantly insulted a Senator-Judge/former RTC Judge and soon to be International Criminal Court Associate Judge. Opinions are just opinions, if can take it then good for you, if you can't then just better leave.

Siguro magandang ipaalala ko lang din na wala naman sigurong matinong magulang ang nagtuturo sa anak na magmura o mang-alipusta at magpahiya ng tao.
