Oh! And I thought I was good as started making videos even turning 40 in couple of weeks... 😎 I have 7 uploads too :) Good luck to both of us. I am going to check yours now. :)
Thanks for the encouragement guys! It's amazing just how supportive some are. It's pretty scary putting myself out there for all to judge, but sometimes you just have to say YOLO!
A big reason why I have been putting it off is because I´m bilingual and don´t know in what language to do my videos in, English or Spanish? D: I´ve been debating over it for years, I consider English is more universal and might reach more people, and also people from where I live will less likely see my videos (feel embarrassed starting and finding out someone from college could see me online haha). But sometimes I wanna talk about certain stuff that is more local/regional. Thought about adding CC subtitles.
Lucia Piriz definitely do both! If you speak mainly in English you can reach more people, but you can add Spanish subtitles, as well as Spanish translations for the title and description :)
English will definitely give you a broader reach but personally I love when bilingual youtubers throw in their other language here and there, makes me feel better about procrastinating on YT when I'm learning something haha, e.g. Asia Jackson and her Tagalog
I'm totally on the same page! Right now, I'm just making them in english and when I have something I feel comfortable with (a better rhythm and structure to how I record) , I'm considering then going back, translating and bulk recording in Spanish and just having the translated videos in separate playlists. I see no reason not to release duplicates, it's going to be different in spanish and is meant for a different language community. Between cultural-linguistics and the vastly different ways we express ourselves as bilingual speakers, I think it's a HUGE opportunity to cater to both of our respective cultural identities without losing authenticity by creating dual videos (1 in english, and one in spanish). Side note: it also helps bridge people together, because two people who may not have a good enough language skill to talk to each other will have video topics to connect with each other over and help with communication.
i'm a youtuber from Bangkok Thailand. I just finished your guideline for starting my own youtube channel. I love your guideline. It helps so much to be clear with what i'm going to do. It set up a solid plan for building up my little channel. thank you so much with LOVE keep doing and keep going with what you are good at. : ) "Let all that you do be done in LOVE." - 1 Corinthians 16:14
I started TH-cam then immediately stopped cause I was like I HAVE NO TIME AND IM SO BAD AT EVERYTHING AH!!! but now I think I'm gonna start again because even though I'm not perfect, the only way to get better is practice. I have to stop worrying about what other people want and try to have fun doing what I want.
I just want to say thank to you, this was the first video I watched that inspired me to create my channel two years ago and it is starting the take off. I've watch all of your videos and implemented your strategies on tags, cover art, video intros, lighting, themes... You advice has been invaluable and my channel wouldn't be what it is without your advice. I wanted to share this and let you know that I am grateful for you :).
you are so so helpful..when I started thinking about starting my own channel I thought I'd do some research but it's worst ...you find thousands of advices, thousands of things to make u feel intimidated but when I found your channel I stopped looking for more....you have best and ACCURATE tips, advices and guidelines one can follow ...super love your channel 💕
Thank you for this quick yet informative video!! You had some great tips! I like how you said don’t wait until you have everything together to start your TH-cam channel. That is a major key!!! I know I was very hesitant of starting my channel because I didn’t have xyz or better yet couldn’t afford all the equipment. I just started recording with iPhone and still do that to date. My goal is to get a good camera, backdrop/clean background, and lighting so my messages can be professionally explained but until that time come... I will continue doing what I have been doing to remain consistent. Thanks again for this awesome video!!
Hi Michelle! Your video came up as a TH-cam recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised on your ideas. You've motivated to get things started for my channel. Thank you
Me watching this one year into starting my TH-cam channel.... great tips though! Very valid, especially the stop thinking, start doing! Too often we are our own worst enemy and wait until things are just right, but for anyone thinking of starting a channel, just start! You will be so glad you didn't wait!
OMg thank you so so much!! Girl you dont even understand how much you have helped me worry this video and i indend on continuously watching liking and probably commenting on and sharing your videos because everything is so precise clear and very practical advice and lastly i love the layout sheets idea i will be filling them. Much love, hope your channel continues to thrive, and thanx again💕💜💙💚😄
I've been doing TH-cam for about 3 months now and I still couldn't reach 50 subs while other people hit like 2000 already. It's so frustrating but I guess I'll just not give up and keep going. ☺
Gina From Korea Its almost been 3 month for me as well and I'm greatful for my 350+ subs but I feel as though I should have more lol! I work so hard and put so much effort in but don't think it reflects at all on my views/subbs sigh
Love this...especially your tip "just do it" - I've been putting off uploading a video for 2 years now! "Oh I don't have the perfect camera", "the lighting today sucks", "I need to go do something crazy", etc. No! Just get out there and make the first video that comes to mind!
I like how I still watched this video but didn’t do any of this stuff when I started my channel... let’s just say my first videos were terrible... but it’s fine mistakes help me learn what to do and what not to do
So tbh when I first started watching this video I was like oh whatever it's just another video about bs.. another TH-cam wanting to get views off of people dreaming to be like them.. but then I saw your channel and I felt like a complete jerk for judging right away because this is THE ONLY video I have seen that makes me actually want to get started. Just like you said I've been holding off on it and I have to stop and just get to it if I want to become anything on here.. thank you so much for dedicating so much time and effort into helping people achieve their dreams. Definitely the most helpful video I've seen, especially because of your amazing advice at the end! Thank you thank you thank you ❤️
That was useful. Especially the bulk filming tip. I'm just starting out and whilst I've got a million things I want to do, the time to film is limited whilst the time for editing is much more available. I'll have a go at bulk filming instead of doing things on the same day I edit.
Lol! Wish I would have seen this before starting my channel a few weeks ago. Preparing yourself for minimal views was something I wasn’t expecting as much. Even now, this was super helpful 😊
Thank you for the tips. I already downloaded the worksheets and hope to get started with my family vlog soon. I am a full time working mom, with 2 lovely kids and foreigner husband ♥️♥️.
I've been procrastinating on restarting my channel and posting videos but this video helped me start back up again! i'm so glad i stumbled upon this randomly lol
I recently started a vlog channel and I love your tips it really helped I only have 14 subs witch I am happy with for now I didn't expect to have that many I love vlogging my birthday is soon and right now I film with my iPad but for my birthday I really want a vlog camera
lol. For easy ways to make money online you guys can go to *LIVEONLINEJOB. COM* this is the same thing I've been doing. Hope this helps. I’m more terrified of failure than rejection-so I’ll know my way to YES!
Hi there, Michelle it was a treat to stumble upon your channel... I am also trying to make my youtube channel grow and yes it is a struggle to get subscribers and views.. But after watching this video I am definite that I will survive.. Thanxxx for this video and encouraging me to stay in the game .. !!
I like the simple ideas even having the same picture across all platforms! Very helpful thank you! Also, just doing it and getting started seems to be a popular tip that I’ve now embraced! It’s so hard to put yourself out there! Thanks again!
I started my channel a few months ago. I am an extremely shy person. Also English is not my native language, and I am very self-conscious about that. I speak with an accent, and I make grammar mistakes. In my first video my voice is trembling. It's so painful and embarrassing for me to watch it. And yet, my first video got over 60K views already. So to all the people out there who want to make this big step but scared, just do it, give it a try, and you might be surprised! Good luck!
Another great video, thank you for reminding me of these tips again Michelle! :) I have already binge watched all of your videos before I started my channel, your tips are great and useful, thank you! :) Now I should get to work! xoxo
Chole Joy my and yours channel have same subscribers! So can we do small meet up or can we promote our both channel names into our channel...???Do msg me on these email babarkhatri0@gmail.com
such good advice. Thank you for making me restart my whole youtube account from giving it a break for 4 years. and making me feel way more confident to continue making videos. xx
The bulk video Filming is a great idea as well i recommend that, it will be time were ideas are flowing so just write them down and film as much as you can, for those days that you feel like to just sleep lol great video thank you michelle
Reading the stuff on the plan... Im the guy that waits a month to uplaod, didnt like it and then deleted it! this is the motivation i needed! thank you
thanks for your channel style guide and channel plan. they really helps me. i have completed my one month of youtubing . your guide is handy to me everytime i make a video. your plan helped a lot. though i couldnt answer exactly to all the points in the plan before i started my channel, they help me to assess myself in my progression. thanks a lot
Honestly this video is sooooo helpful, the tip about equipment tho I’ve already bypassed since I’m a film major so I bought equipment in hopes of using it personally as well as for my class. Honestly the channel I’m thinking about starting isn’t through this account though but even so this is where I watch all my entertainment and tip videos 😅😅 everything in this video is completely helpful and I’m happy I found it. Thank you for posting this.
I'm been posting once a week lately but I'm just not happy with what I'm posting. So thank you for these kind of videos they are going to help me so much!
I'm a big fan of your main channel already, but this is just perfect. I promise I won't procrastinate too much on posting my first video, even if editing takes longer than I expected. Anyway, thank you sooo much for this video :)
I just came across your channel and loved this video. I live in Paris and just started a Food and Travel channel and you gave some great tips. I also used your plan guide which helped to get me more on track! Thanks so much..I'm a fun!
Great video 💕💕 just start filming with what you have that’s how I started my channel five months ago and now I’m getting better at filming and editing and I use my iPhone and iMovie. Just believe in yourself ❤️
Also, feel like I have commented this before, maybe even more than once....but, it'd be so cool to see a video about your hair care, and how you achived your super light shade. It looks so perfect 🙌👑
Thank you for this guide. I've had a channel for a while, but hardly done much with it, so I am still a starter really. Your guide will help, I am sure.
it's so true about not expecting much when you do start uploading, my first video got 300 views which I was over the moon about, every subscriber I get I'm like omg yay new subscriber! On 39 subscribers right now, which has grown from 0 since my first upload! Thanks for the video X
I created new social media accounts so that they're all in sync with my chan. Although I feel as I've done and still do all the tips you've mentioned in this video other the 3 months since I started, I feel as though I should take your 'have low expectations' advice. If I lower my expectations then I can't get disappointed.
thanks for the tips :) i think the idea and storyboard are most important before you start. dont just start filming or editing, prepare before you start
Haha, I am 50 and I have now uploaded 7 videos. 😎 Thanks for the advice!
Bobbie Koppe WOOH YOU GO GURL!!!!!!!!
Oh! And I thought I was good as started making videos even turning 40 in couple of weeks... 😎 I have 7 uploads too :) Good luck to both of us. I am going to check yours now. :)
What does that have to do with your age? 😂
Visual Mind maybe she's owning it and that's nothing to be ashamed of :) Inspiration for ALL AGES!! 👍👍👍👍
I´ve been debating over it for years, I consider English is more universal and might reach more people, and also people from where I live will less likely see my videos (feel embarrassed starting and finding out someone from college could see me online haha). Thought about adding CC subtitles.
Lucia Piriz definitely do both! If you speak mainly in English you can reach more people, but you can add Spanish subtitles, as well as Spanish translations for the title and description :)

Lucia Piriz pick the one you'd like to work with.
keeping it in mind, thanks alot :)
I am currently very guilty of procrastinating starting my channel 😫 this video came at a good time
you should start posting gal!
me too just started posting after agessss
I see you're still procrastinating
Don't give up! I am also new so keep pushing forward and you will get there
lets go...ill support your channel and support mine too..
i'm a youtuber from Bangkok Thailand. I just finished your guideline for starting my own youtube channel. I love your guideline. It helps so much to be clear with what i'm going to do. It set up a solid plan for building up my little channel.
thank you so much with LOVE
keep doing and keep going with what you are good at.

Yes definitely😁 I struggled at the beginning to until I posted my first Video😊 now I just have to make time to post my second
Yeah but dont get complacent I'm what u want it's what your viewers want. It's pointless to do what u want and have 0 views it makes no sence then.
Best filming tip I got was to cover a lamp with parchment paper....perfect filming light! Idk if I would ever use anything else :P
Thanks😊 Great tip😍 For me it's really had to find correct lighting😣
"Stop preparing and start doing." I need to say that fifty times after I wake up!
you first video litterally reached 27k..come back gurl
I just want to say thank to you, this was the first video I watched that inspired me to create my channel two years ago and it is starting the take off. I'm still sooo bad about pre-filming. I am literally always working video to video. I feel like pre-filming would make things so much easier.
I pre-film however I post all of it at the same time anyways. :/ I have no idea where this urge is coming from... :)))))
ive just started but am sure I'll have the same problem! aha
you are so so helpful..when I started thinking about starting my own channel I thought I'd do some research but it's worst ...you find thousands of advices, thousands of things to make u feel intimidated but when I found your channel I stopped looking for more....you have best and ACCURATE tips, advices and guidelines one can follow ...super love your channel 💕
i'm starting my youtube channel in the next few days and just wanted to thank you for this specific video! it's helped me learn a lot and prepare.
She called me out at the end, i wanted to make vids at 16 im 19 now
I felt that. I’m 20 and I’ve been wanting to do videos since I was 16 too
I tried back when I was 15 and I kinda flopped lmao, gave it a shot at 17

Gina From Korea Definitely do not give up, I'm new to putting up vids as well
Gina From Korea just do it for fun and if you get the subscribers then that's a bonus :)
Don't give up! At least you're better than me xD
Gina From Korea Stick with it

That prepare for nothing tip is REALLY IMPORTANT. I wish I knew that when I first started
Bulk filming is such great advice. I just started and have 3 videos now. Will definitely take your advice.
Is it me or she looks like Perrie Edwards

I've been finding this comment oml haha
Omg YES! I thought I was the only one
My lovely Life I didn't think of that until I saw your comment. They look similar but she doesn't have the accent lol. Love Perrie and MuchelleB 💜
Well I would need to see you before I can answer if it's you or her
I'm planning on starting my channel within a few weeks and this was really helpful. Thank you!
Hi gorgeous ♡ can u make a video about how to create minimalistic logos/ typographics / intros & outros... and those kind of things!
+Shaym [ʃeɪm] thats a good idea
Yesss
Shaym [ʃeɪm] use an app called legend it helps with creating intros and outros
Shaym [ʃeɪm] yes please!! A video on how to create minimalistic intros and outros is needed
That was useful. Especially the bulk filming tip. I'm just starting out and whilst I've got a million things I want to do, the time to film is limited whilst the time for editing is much more available. I'll have a go at bulk filming instead of doing things on the same day I edit.

Last tip is the best! Ive put it off for a year or few! Thank you. 👩🏽💻

The links don’t work anymore 😭😭 @channelnotes
I just started my channel yesterday. I’m excited to see where this goes since I have a lot of free time ☺️
OMG. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU FOR THIS ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I like the simple ideas even having the same picture across all platforms! Very helpful thank you! Also, just doing it and getting started seems to be a popular tip that I’ve now embraced! It’s so hard to put yourself out there! Thanks again!
This was some actual helpful information here! Keep the good info coming! ☺ 😊 😀
Good luck!
Love this channel very helpful!!!
Another great video, thank you for reminding me of these tips again Michelle! :) I have already binge watched all of your videos before I started my channel, your tips are great and useful, thank you! :) Now I should get to work! xoxo

You set up getting paid through AdSense.

you looks like poppy
Aleesya Chang

such good advice. Thank you for making me restart my whole youtube account from giving it a break for 4 years. and making me feel way more confident to continue making videos. xx
they can all say what they want, it's better to have the proper equipment before starting
The bulk video Filming is a great idea as well i recommend that, it will be time were ideas are flowing so just write them down and film as much as you can, for those days that you feel like to just sleep lol great video thank you michelle
any small channels wanna help each other out?? tryna make it out here but yall kno its hard asf !! 🤗
Very helpful and encouraging video. I re-launched my channel last week after a 3 year hiatus and I’m excited about what’s to come!

Reading the stuff on the plan... Im the guy that waits a month to uplaod, didnt like it and then deleted it! this is the motivation i needed! thank you
Thank you for the advice. It is definitely important to have lower expectations in the beginning, because it takes time grow.
I just posted my first video TODAY I had so many days saying I don't have the stuff I need to start it. THANK YOU FOR THE EXTRA PUSH TO GO FORWARD ✨💛
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY!! Lots of loveeee!!!
thanks for your channel style guide and channel plan. they really helps me. i have completed my one month of youtubing . your guide is handy to me everytime i make a video. your plan helped a lot. though i couldnt answer exactly to all the points in the plan before i started my channel, they help me to assess myself in my progression. thanks a lot
This is great. Thank you! You are wonderful. I especially love how you organise your communication (written and video).

This video has really helped me consider how I go about making my channel. So honest but also encouraging!!
Thank you so much for this video. I want to start a TH-cam video.... but didn’t know where to start. This really helped! This is amazing.
I’m doing stop motions and I have already planned it thanks so much
Started my channel a month ago but definitely plan to follow these tips!

Great video & advice. I started my channel a year ago & would've loved this back then. Thank you.
I just started my channel and I’m definitely going to follow these tips!
I want to have a TH-cam channel, but I don’t have enough self- confidence. I’m learning 🙏🏻 thank you
I'm a big fan of your main channel already, but this is just perfect.
I promise I won't procrastinate too much on posting my first video, even if editing takes longer than I expected.
Anyway, thank you sooo much for this video :)
I never thought to even do half of these! Thank you for your tips!! So helpful x
your channel has helped me so much! my videos are slowlllyyyyy very slowly getting better each one learning new things every time I film!
It's 2020 and this is still so helpful to me now
I just came across your channel and loved this video. I live in Paris and just started a Food and Travel channel and you gave some great tips. I also used your plan guide which helped to get me more on track! Thanks so much..I'm a fun!
Little Life Table are you active in your channel regularly
Your precious tips are useful for new youtubers.
Thank you for the lesson and those precious tips Channelnotes.
Great video 💕💕 just start filming with what you have that’s how I started my channel five months ago and now I’m getting better at filming and editing and I use my iPhone and iMovie. Just believe in yourself ❤️
I just started a beauty channel now I have 5 videos up! 😀 so excited for the journey!
This video was really helpful! I feel like I get closer and closer to collecting the courage I need to start my own channel.
Great tips! I love the pre-filming idea, too, to allow me to post faithfully even when "life" doesn't cooperate. ;)
I've just started but I will be looking at your guidance.
thanks for the tips :) i think the idea and storyboard are most important before you start. dont just start filming or editing, prepare before you start
