I'm having trouble getting my rhino esc to work on my new Sanwa M17. It worked great on my M12s no problem. The only way I can get it to work on my M17 is change the Throttle type from f7:b3 to f5:b5. When I do that, it works, but very low power and it will not let me calibrate the throttle at all.
@NegativeGRC thanks for your help. Fwiw, I got it working for the most part. Finally discovered for whatever reason the epa was at 70% and 30%. Turned that up and it seems normal. However, it will not let me calibrate the throttle.
I'm striking out all around here! My green light lights up, but the tablet doesn't load the driver. I'm running windows 11. I'll try it with my laptop and see what happens later.
The USB driver is included in the download. If you look in the folder CH341SER in your download the driver setup should be in there. There is an x86 and an x64 bit driver depending on what you are running.
@@NegativeGRC I tried on my wifes laptop which has Windows 10. And nothing. So checked the cable connections. I think I might have a bad USB cable. Do you know what kinda of USB cable it is?
I got the C type cable from Bestbuy. I installed the x64bit driver since I am running Windows 8. Was able to program. But still unable to calibrate. Gonna try a different transmitter. Baby steps over here LOL. Thanks for advice.
@@NegativeGRC thank you i will try that..also i have trouble with the esc cutting off on certain demand of power, it sometime shut off and dont turn on whatsoever i do!! The batt say around 32% left , a 3s!!
There are 2 dip switches on the board. Both should be ON for the highest voltage. I added an image to my site: negativegrc.com/product/rhino-am32-crawler-esc/
If you operate the ESC in sine mode continuously for long periods you will get some heat build up. Also you want to make sure you adjust the tune to your motor KV.
Dip switch settings , how do I get it on the highest voltage possible? (Yes y'all I know it's on the site.. but it'd be great if it was explained in video format)
@@KutterNixon You just push them with a small screwdriver to the position you want them. Those are called DIP switches. Both switches AWAY from the "1" and "2" will put you at 8.2v. There's an image here: negativegrc.com/product/rhino-am32-crawler-esc/
This Video was super helpful. The USB Cable advice was spot on for my problem!
Thank you Jess! All I need now is the esc when it becomes in stock again
Awesome material, mate!
thanks jes for all the help best customer service i gave ever seen
Your on top of the game with customer services #DEFYGRAVITY
Woohoo good walkthrough!
Thanks for the video.

I talked to Conrad and he said to try FH4 or up one slower from what you were on
@@NegativeGRC 10-4. Thanks! I'll try that now
@@NegativeGRC didn't work on three different type receivers
@@TheHammer I'm sorry I'm not more help. I have never messed with the Sanwa stuff before.

So, It shows connected, but when I click the M1 is says didn't connect. I tried 2 different cables. Any suggestions?

can this be done on the Chromebook or anything have to be a Windows computer
The program runs on Windows only as far as I know.
Would it be possible to mount a external fan to these escs
I'm sure you could but it's not really necessary.
mine gets super hot@@NegativeGRC
What about using a Windows 11 computer??? Cannot get mine to work.
How will this worked paired with a yellow jacket motor from 3 brothers rc
Just fine 👍👍
@@NegativeGRC perfect thank you
Last question u forgot to ask I also have a castle bec I was gonna use how will that pair with this
@@vinnyilaria2064 Castle BEC is not required if you only need 8.2v. This 80A Rhino has a built in 8.2v BEC.
@@NegativeGRC okay I wasn't sure I have dual 7.4 volt servos for my 4ws plus my reef's winch
Is there an option for the built in BEC?
The BEC is adjusted with the DIP switches on the board. There's a diagram on the Negative G website
@@NegativeGRC thank you 😊
So is drake the drag brake? Everything else seems rather straight forward for programming
You should see a check box on the left for "Brake On Stop" and on the right side there is a slider for "Stopped Brake Level"
Does this work with Mac ?
Windows only sorry
I must be doing something wrong. I installed it and opened the configuration tool but when I try to connect it says m1 did not connect
is there a way to adjust batt cutt-off voltage???
Yes. On the 3rd tab at the top labeled "Input" there are some voltage parameters
@@NegativeGRC thank you very helful video for a great esc motor combo.
I got win7. It won't work and haven't been able to calibrate it either. Dead underwater. Hopefully I can find some local that got it to work.

I here 1.99 software will help with heat how do you do that,??
Rick you would do all the steps in the video you just go to the other tabs at the top of the software and load the new firmware
How to adjust the voltage to the servo???? I have a 40amp ESC.
You need to use a BEC or a direct power servo with the 40A
Yes I found that out. I will end up with the 80amp.
@@NegativeGRC
Can you adjust the voltage to the servo with the 80AMP??? Great video by the way.
@@Charlieoil yes the internal BEC on the 80A is adjustable up to 8+ volts
