I can't remember if it's Digital Storm. They have an AIO gaming desktop. At least I saw it a few years or more ago. Not sure if they still make it. I'd assume they do.
This laptop is a beast. And a sleeper hit/deal if you can find it on open box or refurbished. I tested the 13980HX equipped version last year at launch right at the intro of the RTX 4000 generation.
@@Boostguru I usually lean towards open box at Best Buy due to warranty :) I do buy refurbs but I prefer open box as in most cases the OEM warranty is still in place
Lets be honest - it's a desktop with built in screen and ups :D remember when I was dragging around g752j... The problem is that the bigger screen the longer keyboard deck is - the screen is too far for me on big laptops
Would love to see your review of the Scar 16, especially since it has that sweet Mini LED screen and you've reviewed a lot of them: a comparison would be great on that front. But there are contrasting opinion, would love your hands on if you aren't going broke
The grind never stops 💪. This laptop is such a chonk. Definitely a full on desktop replacement size wise that I'd think wouldn't leave a house/apartment for so many people. I havent seen a 4070 version of this. Had no idea you had this one. I remember almost getting the 4080 version of this from best buy. Also same as my 9i for sure, I think changing boost from the default of Aggressive to Efficient Enabled would do a lot for the CPU temp.
I imagine it works well if you want to gather with your friends and play together, much easier to carry than a full pc. or even to work with others and everyone needs to carry their own. but of course it's not to take to work or a coffe on a daily basis
I have seen SO many Liquid Metal comments and posts that this laptop overheats and throttles reall badly. Is this everyone with the g18 2024? . People are all saying on asus forums they have to compleltey eemove the cooling pipes and reapply liquid metal to the gpu cpu and vram and all surrounding electronics. But liquid metal is runny snd very hard to do this ...
Thank you for a great review! Any idea if a SSD with a heatsink like the Western Digital SN850X or Samsing 990 PRO will fit in the second slot or will it need to be with no heatsink?
They are much closer than you might think I do prefer the rock core performance of A&E however I essentially using that exact CPU in my desktop, and I have a video on it. It’s fantastic
Hello man which laptop would you recommend? Mostly for gaming. Legion 5 Pro R9-7945HX, RTX 4070, 2k. Display Legion 7i i7-14700HX, RTX 4070, 3.2k Display (Legion 5 Pro is also 100 euros cheaper) Which one will perform better in games? Will the 7i struggle with performance due to its 3.2k display? Also are the thermals on the legion 5 Pro better than those of the 7i? Thank you!
These reviews really hit the spot.
true that
1:56 the fact that it balances on the back is insane 😅
Right? who would’ve thought a flat sided device would stand up on another flat surface. INSANE 💀🤦🏼♂️
@@PuddingTaToRnAtOr okay dude its not that insane happy now dickhead?
I'm waiting for a 27" gaming laptop 🙂

i literally just bought this laptop with these exact specs, looking forward to it!
How has it been so far?

@@TechGuyBeau How certain are we about Openbox bc I see one right now for $1999 and I'll buy it tonight if openbox is that trustworthy
Got mine 14th Gen i9, 4090, 2tb 64 gigs ram 3699 in July
Great review! It was enough to make me order one with i9-14900HX and RTX4060.
I have had the Asus G18 with a 13980hx and a RTX 4080 and it has been quite a performer. My max multicore in cinebench R23 is 33,172.
4089 makes a lot of sense in this laptop

A big gaming laptop just pushed me to build a pc
I need one to fill time during breaks at work!

Mini LED is so nice :D. Playing Call of Duty you LITERALLY get flashed banged from the game when one is thrown at you in multiplayer 😂.

Great review as always! Do you have any plan on doing the ASUS TUF?
I have a 16" tuf right now I'm working on
These need to come down in price considering in ces 2025 the 5080 and 5090 will be revealed.
Agreed, they probably will start to drop in January a lot
@@TechGuyBeaudo you think the price will be better at black friday or january?
dynamic refresh rate will be available when u switch to dgpu mode in armour crate
Alot of us with OCD and it makes it seem cheap. The latop looks dope but
is it possible to upgrade it to 64gb RAM?
Yes

What was the peak CPU temperature in multi core mode when you did the performance test on Cinebench?
No Oled panel in 2024 is wild
OLED has absolute negatives that many people don’t want. Most OLED enthusiasts simply haven’t used a super high quality IPS like Asus offers on these.
Just imagine spending $4000 on this laptop just to get a burn in, that's gonna be awful if this was an oled.
Are they still able to put the stickera NOT on straight?? Never understood all the stickers especially when theyre not applied correctly.
Do you need the ac supply to hit higher FPS?
Do they have any nebula hdr display option like the previous gen ???
Yess, that's why they're so good even as IPS!
@@iulianjercan9787That's cool. Thnx...😁
What external monitor is best suited for the laptop?
any of it can be suited but having same refresh rate is way more better
Will you do a review on the msi pulse 16 ai cv ? I bought it
If I can find a decent sale for sure
One day amd will made an x3d laptop cpu

is there any other difference between g16 and g18 except the sizes and numpad ?
You could have OLED on G16

Sadly, this is the type of thing that leads to vigilanteeism, as well as the need to quietly dispose of the body afterward. 😂
Silent really isn't silent
I wouldnt buy another asus product their warranty issued are well known by now.
18 is too big,it better be a desktop replacement.
Thanks for the review, i will stick with MacBook m4 pro
And I'm staying with the M8 MacBook.🤣🤣🤣
Please read my offer in your mail sir 😅😅
