I legit no longer know if Mumei trully has a birb brain or if she’s just an amazing actress

The best Hololive characters are those that take the actors(?) personality and emphasise it, rather than try to be someone completely different. It’s funnier, and easier on the talent in the long run
I like to believe that they take into account their IRL personalities and put that into their lore to keep it all cohesive.

I think she's not exactly forgetful. It seems like she's the type of person who can't focus on just one thing, she does everything and eventually that "everything" will overlap with each other. That's why she's often confused
I love how at 2:04 Kiara feels the need to finish Mumei's sentence for her because she's concerned she will never hear the story otherwise. Also how overenthusiastically she signals that she is listening to ensure that Mumei keeps talking and doesn't get distracted. A true professional kusotori.

My god, I was here for the stream but only just listening to it. I didn’t realize the rice dilemma was showcased during the stream. Mumei is a goddamn national treasure, I cannot believe how fucking precious she can get. My daily dose of Nanashium is an overdose and now I’m dying of diabetes
She perplexes me. From how she couldn't make the connection, to her "long story" answer. I would have just said, "It's in the freezer."
With each question that Kiara asked, I thought "okay NOW Mumei has to remember". But it just kept going and going and turned into a full interrogation. So much so that it made Kiara think she was the crazy one and mistook Mumei for someone else. This is way too powerful. Sasuga Mumei.

It's not that she forgot about the rice, it's that in her mind she has already processed that event, packed it up, and gave it to "Top Men" who locked it up in a warehouse. In other words that event was so complex and/or so draining that it's probably mentally easier to just lock it up quickly than keep it in your short term memory. But, if it ever needs to be recalled, it becomes such a process to unpack, and sometimes the only way it can be revealed is step by step. I can sort of relate, I've had to walk myself back through situations just so it can make sense or to recall what happened.
I'm not a P-Sychiatrist, though. So I could be wrong.
This. Everyone here commenting was shown the tweets so they all know what context Kiara is talking about. Mooms has none, is searching through what they're doing currently for context, could be thinking of a thousand things, and could think Kiara is thinking of a thousand things.
There will be some element of playing it up once she connected the dots, but that's literally impossible to discern unless Mumei spelled it out.
A rice tip from a South East Asian :
If you ever accidentally made way too much rice, refrigerate the excess, if you refrigerate it correctly it can last for 3 days to 1 weak. And all of that is perfect material for Fried Rice. I mean you gotta live with eating Egg Fried Rice for a week, but hey no wasted food.
You could also turn it into soup by tossing in some broth and ginger on it, maybe some random veggies and meat slices if you want. At the least, it'll be some variety to all the fried rice.

eh in this case, the story really just boiled down to "I made too much rice and after using up the leftover rice, I ate some of the new rice and then put it away with the container that held the old rice". It's not that big of a story and Mumei is apparently pretty busy so not shocking it wasn't on the forefront of her mind.
There is whats called short term memory, but Mumei's is just way too fast. I feel like if she had glasses, she'd put them on top of her head and then forgor its there
@@FN-170 You ever have one of those 'problems' that seems earth shattering at the time but once you have resolved it, it seems so basic and mundane that you just forget all about trouble it caused you not long after? This is probably what happened, in the end it was not important enough to make a solid long term memory about it.

@@cmmagamers I would not be so sure. When something is very mundane like that it's easy to pay it very little importance and thus not create a long term memory of it. Think about all the 'normal' things you did yesterday, can you remember them all in detail? Forgetting something you have resolved and thus do not consider important is not as hard as it sounds.

Ah rice. Yep, fried rice is best when made from leftover rice. Sometimes though the rice in a fridge might get soggy. Not to mention mixing rice made from different times, it makes rice go bad faster.
Then there's the many options of how to make the fried rice - one might do it Chinese style, or an original style like mixing food that doesn't go bad easily or ones that were made the previous day. Adobo in fried rice is yummy. Or even mixing slightly overcooked spam, etc.
