currently have about 20 hours on DRL with a xbox controller it's really fine to learn on, even managed to get some decent times on courses but past a certain speed I'm seeing the limits of not having granular control of the throttle, great video!
bro i bought liftoff and uncrashed and was thinking on getting drl to start my fpv journey and while watching your vid i asked myself if i ever claim drl for free (cause i didnt remember to) and i just checked my library and it was there LMAO THANK YOU
If you start off on a gamepad, you really need to swap to a radio sooner than later. I tried flying a brand new RTF kit out of the box with a month of solid gamepad experience I was racing at a slow pace without crashing. But my maiden IRL flight with a radio was a disaster. The left stick goes all the way down on my new controller, how hard could it be? It's a completely different muscle memory and I nearly lost my drone on the maiden flight.
I used gamepad at the beginning, because i didn't have fpv drones and radio, just dji drones and Tello drones with bt / wired gamepad. But i bought a emax radio comes from a tinywhoop kit, that's surely better.
If I had to js prob have to change the controller setting to match the FVP controller little just ment make a different prob be another video all on its own just a thought 😅
You could use it to practice to some extent in angle mode. There will be some limitations however, in terms of not being able to control the camera angle while flying (tilting the gimbal).
Thanks for this video, Even though I'm struggling with the gamepad. Need to buy an FPV Radio Controller, Please suggest any low budget RC for FPV simulator
Radiomaster pocket, the $50-60 ones don't come with batteries though. You need to buy 2x 18650 batteries. You'll also need a long enough USBC data cable. The one that comes with is a bit too short. I've used it in TRYP/DRL Simulators. Most sims have similar detection, so I'm sure it works in Velocodrone.
I haven't tried using fpv controllers for flight sims but I saw some posts on reddit saying that fpv controllers work fine. A dedicated HOTAS system would definitely still be better in the long run if you intend to focus on flight sims. I personally wouldn't get an fpv controller just for flight sims. Hope this helps!
You mean his gaming controller or the actual drone radio? Cause if you mean game controller - can confirm PS5 controller is no better. Joysticks offer low tier functionality when flying sim
Nice video, been using my controller for almost 2 weeks now and i just order a radio control, cant wait to use it!
Welcome to the hobby! Good info; many people try and are instantly discouraged...but "the right tool for the right job" and all that👍
Definitively the video I was looking for. Thanks for that!

What is your Radio Controller called? And how much did it cost? Ty

Hey Buddy, can I use this software to practice as a cinematic drone environmental movement ? For DJI mini 4 Pro.

Radiomaster pocket!
@@ПашаМартинов-ь8у does it matter if its 6CH or 8CH one ? Will it work with Velocidrone sim? Thanks in advance!
@@luisocampo3518 8 channel one is better in my opinion

Hey what would be your opinion using an FPV controller for a flight simulator such as msfs?
I'm currently searching for a compact HOTAS system.

I've set up my black sheep tango 2 for MFS, just to see if it works. I does. I've also set it up to fly helicopters for Squad works really good there
which controller are you using in this video?
next video....fpv gamepad style controller vs real size tx18s controller - just saying boss
This is mostly based on one's preference and I don't have a full sized controller for comparison 😁
I started on the game controllers like this...after I finally got the tx18s I can't use anything else. My say in this :)@@NotSoScale
The problem is these controllers have a big dead zone where it doesn't sense movement
Can you do the opposite? As in use the fpv radio controller as a game controller for other games?
I think it's possible but im not sure about how good it would be for different types of games.
hi~ Thanks, breathtaking channel. goodnight- Not. :))
Its supposed to cost 8 pounds and 84 cents
what is the name of the simulators
The sim in the video is DRL Simulator but there are other FPV drone simulators like liftoff and velocidrone.
Cool but your controller looks like its from the stone age. It would probably work better with a new controller.
😂
Its the f310 which is still a solid controller you can get brand new for $20 to $30
