I fished with big Dave a few times I did a show with him a few years ago always a great experience
-Is why I carry 50 feet of para cord. To tie a rock on and toss up into branches to pull branches down and retrieve flies and lures.
-I remember my first steelhead, when I moved to Troutdale 1994.
-People must wonder what I'm watching with all the big and constant smiles and laughing out loud while watching your videos.

My favorite video so far. I live in upstate NY. Lots of Lake Ontario tribs near me. Never gave much a thought to fish them until I saw your videos this winter. Before next fall I'll to get my self a steelhead and salmon set up. Keep the videos coming!!

the fish we catch in north east oregon are all colored up just because of the distance they have to come before they get to us. I've always thought bucks tasted better even if they are darker. assuming alot of the proteins in the hens go into their eggs. just a thought

I love this video as I have been trying to tell all my Steelhead buddies for decades that Bucks are better eating then hens. They are always better. The bucks have firmer meat and the hens food energy goes to egg production making their meat softer. Also better to consume a Buck for the fishery as one buck can spawn with several Hens.

I was told a long time ago in Alaska that bucks will always cut better than a hen because the hen puts a lot of her energy or nutrients into the eggs. It makes sense to me, not sure if there is any scientific basis for it though.
Now you need to determine if bucks are better than hens. Or if older fish are better than chromers.
