I had Schubert's Ave Maria and I was thinking about doing another Bach/Gounod and putting both on the list to completely confuse the listeners)) But I didn't))
Thanks for another entertaining quiz. I knew 14 of the 15 composers and 11 of the pieces by name. Did not recognize the piece by Gounod, Overall, not too hard.
That Bach makes a guest appearance in the Procol Harum instrumental _Repent Walpurgis._ Also which composer set the _Ave Maria_ against that most perfect prelude? Offenbach?
1. Antonio Vivaldi - Winter 2. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy - Frühlingslied 3. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Die Zauberflöte 4. Johann Strauss Sohn - Kaiserwalzer 5. Johann Sebastian Bach - Das wohltemperierte Klavier 6. Amilcare Ponchielli - La Gioconda 7. Peter Tschaikowsky - Dornröschen 8. Ludwig van Beethoven - Mondscheinsonate 9. Antonín Dvořák - 9. Sinfonie 10. Gioachino Rossini - Die diebische Elster 11. Charles Gounod - Faust 12. Dmitri Schostakowitsch - Walzer Nr. 2 13. Johannes Brahms - Wiegenlied 14. Georges Bizet - Carmen 15. Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt Suite
15/15, but I'd never heard the Rossini or Bizet, just guessed them because of the style. You could add extra "wrong" composers to prevent people from guessing the ones towards the end by elimination.
14/15. Gounod. Music was so familiar, but didn't know the composer. All others without problem. Is there any quiz with only opera and only ballet music? I love both very much.
PLEASE I would love to see this. I have not yet strayed very far from the realm of ballet music yet and am struggling with some of these quizzes. Still very fun though!
Do me a favor, keep these quizzes coming!
Thanks! Next parts already in progress ..
11/15. I knew the Ponchielli piece but had no idea it was by him (in fact, I'd not heard of him). Shostakovich fooled me and I love his music!
Got them all. More please!
Same :)
More of these quizzes, please! This one was a bit *too easy, though.
haha I see what you did there, having Gounod on a list where you used the C Major Prelude for Bach:)
I had Schubert's Ave Maria and I was thinking about doing another Bach/Gounod and putting both on the list to completely confuse the listeners)) But I didn't))
Excellent video!
Thanks!
Thank you for this quiz. please continue posting such musical quizzes
13/15
Good result. I'll definitely make more
same
15/15. Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours even became a popular song! Got the wrong title for Rossini, haha. As usual, love it!
We missed out on Gounod and would you believe, Mozart ! Must have had a brain fade.
Another nice test. thanks for posting, ,
Still a good result! Next part will be even more difficult!
Very nice quiz, but what recording of Dvořák was this?!? The orchestra wasn't together at all!!
Agree. Some recordings and performances were not of the best quality, not only Dvorak((
Was just going to say; that Dvorak recording was..... sus 😅
That piece by Grieg is absolutely fantastic, as usual. Got my Gounod wrong! This quizz is getting better
Thanks for your feedback. I completely agree about Grieg, I hardly thought about it when I chose the Intro.
13/15... my best score yet.
Thanks for another entertaining quiz. I knew 14 of the 15 composers and 11 of the pieces by name. Did not recognize the piece by Gounod, Overall, not too hard.
Thanks. I'm going to do Part V more difficult for the experts)
That Bach makes a guest appearance in the Procol Harum instrumental _Repent Walpurgis._
Also which composer set the _Ave Maria_ against that most perfect prelude? Offenbach?
No, that _Ave Maria_ setting was Gounod.
Yes, frankly speaking it was very very easy! 😉
1. Antonio Vivaldi - Winter
2. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy - Frühlingslied
3. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Die Zauberflöte
4. Johann Strauss Sohn - Kaiserwalzer
5. Johann Sebastian Bach - Das wohltemperierte Klavier

9. Antonín Dvořák - 9. Sinfonie
10. Gioachino Rossini - Die diebische Elster
11. Charles Gounod - Faust
12. Dmitri Schostakowitsch - Walzer Nr. 2
13. Johannes Brahms - Wiegenlied

15. Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt Suite
15/15, but I'd never heard the Rossini or Bizet, just guessed them because of the style. You could add extra "wrong" composers to prevent people from guessing the ones towards the end by elimination.
Thanks for the recommendations, I was thinking about this too. Perhaps I will use it in the future.
@@adiosmusictest or you could give a new list with every piece.
Nice this time you did the intro music lol
I just want to listen this amazing melody within a minute)
14/15. Gounod. Music was so familiar, but didn't know the composer. All others without problem. Is there any quiz with only opera and only ballet music? I love both very much.

Got 12\15
13
It's Gioacchino, with two "c". I got all of them, except Mendelssohn.
Who is singing the Queen of the Night aria in this video?
Amazing Pauline Texier th-cam.com/video/pzu4mJJEt2o/w-d-xo.html

I notice you didn't use Oystein Baadsvik's recording of the Vivaldi "Winter" concerto.
14/15 -- UGH! How could I mess up the Mendelssohn?!?!
Brahms was deadsure. My mother sang it to when I was a baby/toddler. "Guten Abend, gut Nacht, mit Rosen bedacht"
For me also. Since I was a child I knew Brahm's lullaby.
very good. watched on a unregistered acc, purposely did manipulations with a yt link just to subscribe
Thanks for all
12,5/15.
Second last can be guessed not based on the music but on the language.
15/15
I got 13/15🎉
You have good results in all parts!
@@adiosmusictest Thx!
I messed up again, mixed up Mendelssohn with Ponchielli. 14/15
What about shosty string quartet 8😢😢😢
Da war ein Fehler in der Aufnahme: Sie begann mit Anitras Tanz und das wurde nicht bestätigt.
Mozart, and only dogs can hear those high _Fs_
You Know Tchaikovsky Has Only 3 Ballets That I Know "Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, And The Sleeping Beauty. Thanks
Did they just...tell us all the answers in the beginning?
Yes We Did It))
12/15 - Failing both Tchaikovskiy and Beethoven is highly embarrassing, though
Some people can't hear the difference between Vivaldi's Winter and Summer, and that's okay))
I only know number 9 because of an anime called Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
Music quiz with Anime Covers in my future plans))
@@adiosmusictest perfect
11/15. I liszten too much to Liszt
I often confuse Liszt with Chopin))
14/15, not tricky at all, didn’t know gounod
Welcome to new test "Guess the Symphony". It's just for experts))
11/15, but what was that dvorak recording haha...
The recording and orchestra that day were not the best.
Too easy 😂😂
Please correct your spelling. It was not "to easy" nor was it "too easy"!!!
I try, but switching to English is hard for me. It would be much easier for me to joke in Russian))
I wonder how good your Russian is. Or your German. Or your Swedish.
