@@fullyelectric well, it’s funny, becoming an adult. When I was a kid, if I started something on fire in the garage my dad probably would have freaked out and told me not to do that. But when you’re 40, there’re no dads.. There are no rules at all!! I don’t have kids, i have more money than I actually need; I don’t have any guard rails.. I can literally just do whatever comes to mind immediately. It’s a miracle I’m not obese because I could just eat chocolate bars and drink Mountain Dew for every meal
@@SPACEDESIGNWAREHOUSE omg dude so very true, you know what would be awesome for you to review is the wild ZimaOS with AI 1.3.1 on the ZimaCube, i think you make it so much fun to watch since that product is like no other!
You can set Mac Mini as a Time Machine and then Mac Mini to back itself up to Synology instead of it being storage by connecting more Storage, maybe use it as a cache on Time Machine, idk if that's possible or not, but I will try on my Home Lab's mac 2014 mac mini.
A lot of people who set up computers as a home server like to run them “headless.” Which means no keyboard, mouse or monitor and only controlling it by connecting to it through the network. But I have mine set up at a desk with a keyboard, mouse, monitor and a chair in front of it so I can sit down at it and use it like a normal computer as well as a server.
Very good video! :) It's maybe better to not keep the two drives on each other. The vibration can kill them. Server drivers can handle the vibration better.
Oh no way! We've definitely got a whole similar tech home studio jam going on; thats awesome.. I should invite you to the next Space Warehouse Games whenever I get around to making a sequel to those videos.. They were the most fun Ive had making some of the least popular things on my whole channel, ha!
@@JonAdamsTech Yeah for sure! Theres no doubt a thing or two were both doing that neither of us had thought of.. I found you on instagram, I see you update it even less than I do mine.
Never considered using one of our Macs instead of our Synology... any idea how many drives it can handle in a RAID and how much you can dial in permissions for other users on the network (like read and write for certain folders but not others and no delete permissions, etc)?
Hey man great video. I run a similar setup, M1 Mac mini behind my living room tv remotely connected to my NAS running a plex server. Maybe I missed it, but why not remote connect to your NAS instead of the extra peripheral? I usually try and operate mine headless as well so I don’t interrupt anyone watching TV, if you ever need to remote into it I’d recommend jump desktop on the IPAD for $15 one time. Works like a charm!
One fart and that server is going to blow up. Exposed terminals can short in contact with methane or sweat from your home gym. Although rare, you should consider 3d printing a rack case for your drives. Great video
@@xdxdxdxdxdxdxdxdx3506 I agree! And actually I just responded to a different comment about vibration where I said I really need to 3d print a rack. I HAVE a 3d printer that I practically never use. Good idea!!
bought a Mac mini for editing only. can say it's been one of my favorite purchases and 100% worth the $500!
Dude i am starting to feel you got a thing for fire 🔥 great content and production more please!!

This was a great video. Love the editing. What do you mean by keeping it as a computer terminal at the end of the video? Thank you!

That’s a fine point.. I SAY I’m going to get around to 3d printing a little rack for them but if I’m honest I know I won’t for a pretty long time!
