Thank you for bringing this Greymuzzle into the fandom. I never know how much I missed out throughout the decades until I went to Denfur, and initially I felt nervous. Then I got my partial fursuit (thanks, FireWolf Studio) and I felt like.. home. Sure, I've been exposed to anthropomorphic animals since the 80's.. but didn't know much about the fandom until this year. I learned so much about the fandom and LGBTQIA+ in a short amount of time. It was almost like redesigning and rebuilding myself and exposing a portion of my personality that has been locked up for quite awhile. Now, I always want to suit with my fellow Montana Furs no matter where it is. I love it, and I have zero regrets diving in head first. Well, the only regret I have is not diving in sooner.

I made a furry friend the other day. I find it pretty interesting having a furry friend though. For a while now I’ve always had thoughts if I really was a furry or not. It’s hard thinking about if I really am one but one day I don’t know when, maybe today if I will find myself some self love.

I've been in the fandom since I was in the 7th grade (I am now graduating high school), and I've loved all of the people I've met because of this fandom. So many people see us as really weird/gross, but all the fellow furries I've met in real life have been really kind and chill. I wish people could understand that with every group of people, there is going to be a bad side, and like everyone else, furries are going to have a few bad apples in our fandom.
I have severe social anxiety around crowds and people. But when I'm doing furry TikTok's in the safety of my room, seeing interactions and likes with my content, and making new friends truly becomes easier than ever. My followers love me so much, and I love them so much too! About 3 of them I've become super close! It's now more exciting than ever to log into TikTok and talk to everyone who comments on my content. I still am cautious when speaking to someone for the first time. I've been hurt by people my own age my entire life. I'm 27. My fursuit gives me the freedom, confidence, and happiness I thought I'd never have. It's also brought me many friends thru social media. The furry fandom is truly amazing. Once you're in, it'll change your life! ❤
I have been in the Fandom for 6-8 years I have meant so many wonderful friends and even my boyfriend this community got me out of some really dark times and is still helping me heal from my past it just makes you feel amazing every time that my friends and boyfriend and myself get to go to cons when they have one it just feels like home and one big family to us especially after working 40 hours to taking off a few days to hang out with others like you its just something that stays with you always seeing peoples fursonas their ideas their species everything its just amazing and shows people that we love our hobby and our Fandom. I just want everyone to know I love you all and I give all you guys a huge hug wherever you're at just remember we are a family a community we got to be there for each other and not listen to the haters and the people that left the Fandom calling the Fandom toxic my friends my boyfriend and I don't care about the Twitter and or politics people or issues cause we don't care about politics and don't have Twitter cause Twitter is a shit site in general and had nothing to do with Furries or the Fandom being toxic. We just ignore those types of people and help others at cons to have a good time to show this is still amazing Fandom no matter what is going on your all special to me your all family next time you see someone at a con show them you care and love them to. I was surprised to hear Disney's Robin Hood mentioned at the beginning of the video . My parents took me to see this movie when I was 5 . From there the seed was sown .

I've been a closet furry for over a decade and after watching this and the The Furry Fandom Documentary, I can 100% say with confidence that holy crap I am a total furry and will begin to embrace my creativity and imagination in the future!! Thank you for this wonderful content!! I can't wait to embrace this new part of my journey!
I love being in the fandom despite not having a fursuit or having been to a con. I want to go to denfur so bad though. The other truth is that one of the things that made brought me together with my girlfriend is the furry fandom. This community is a force for love, good, and tolerance. I know we have bad apples in here, but I’m positive that we as a fandom have made a difference in peoples lives. Bringing a sense of belonging, friendship, and community to those who think they are alone in this world, that there is nobody like them, is a great feeling. May the fandom live on, and may we one day be accepted by society at large.
This really does show that no matter what personality, no matter what nationality, no matter what race. You can also be in this community/fandom, and it shows what your favorite thing says about you in all of the good ways
Yeah, of course I know I'm not an animal walking on two feet. I know I'm a human, and quite the silly one, when I dress up as a character I created to talk to other silly people on the internet, but it's just so much fun. Doesn't hurt anyone and makes for some weird spectacle. That's why I'm a furry and why I like the fandom. Be yourself, be silly, have balance in life between the seriousness of working, studying or whatever you're doing at the moment, and interaction with other furries where goofyness is not frowned upon. And what's strange is that I was never really bullied or left out by the group. I was always one of the stronger guys in my little sphere of acquaintances, never had problems with anyone, I just love the fun and goofy, even silly aspect of the fandom. You're talking to many different people, noone cares about religion, color of skin or anything, really, it's just how you are to people that defines how you are seen in the fandom. That is a beautiful aspect as well. Furries are some of the most likeable and honest people I've met.
I’ve never understood what furry’s were because when I asked my friends (in school) they said that it was weird and that I knew what was wrong with being one. Then they would of course aske if I was a furry. Now that I actually have a good grasp about what it is, it feels like the world has opened up lol. Thanks for that, now I’m in love with the fandom. Thank you for the creation of this series and your documentary film. I've been remotely adjacent to the fandom, in that I've somewhat known of the existence of the fandom, for about 25 years now. In fact, a furry got me involved in the general Science Fiction convention scene, but I never knew about furry cons until maybe a decade ago. I'm glad I got to see where the fandom went since I last connected with it, and suspect that involvement may become greater as I've recently reconnected with the fandom. I wish you the best and please continue to create very informative works about this wonderful community.

i draw these characters since im 7-8 years old without knowing abt this magical fandom and one day my sister was calling me to show me something and i saw people with costumes of animals and my sister said "see how cute and silly is it", i said "your right i wanna join the fandom!". My sister helped me to create my first character as a dinomask and since that day i am the happiest woman in the world, the furry helped me to get out of the house and to actually accept myself and it helped me during my dark times. i don't know how to say thank you cause it will never be enough!
People have a tendency to judge others by their outward appearance rather than who they are on the inside, so why not project an outward appearance that reflects the "inner you"? I think maybe thats part of the appeal; you probably feel less judged.
The reason why I am in the furry community is because I feel like I am myself and I wont get judged. Its like a secondary family that I can go to and talk to about things that I want to do and get some support and I can go to talk about my life situation with me being 21 years old and trying to figure out what I want to do in life and try and live my best life. When I saw that there were other transgender people in the community I knew that this was a safe space and I can be myself in here. Im gonna get a little off topic here, but I have had the crappiest year of my life. My dads father passed away in February and a few months after that my parents filed for a divorce and they just separated almost 2 months ago and I feel like I'm in a state that I can't get my life on track, but when I talk to some of my friends in the community I can get away from all the sadness and have a laugh and have them come over and give me hugs and tell me that they love me because I am probably the best friend that they have because I changed their lives and I feel like they are trying to keep me together and tell me that everything is going to be okay. I genuinely love this community because I wouldn't have met my girlfriend and friends who im going to invite to my wedding because they are always with me and are always welcome to come over and see me and play video games or drive around in my car or go skateboarding with them or sit down and watch a movie or sit down and have a couple of drinks and talk about life with each other. This is probably the best way for me to describe this community as a second family to me.
I enjoyed this so much, I love this community. I feel like this community would be a great fit for me, sort of bummed I never found my way to you all. Keep being you, because you are all wonderful!

I have pretty severe social anxiety, I am working on a fursuit sort of, i might go to a furry convention next year, my mom told me we should! I’m going to make a full body suit when my bones stop growing lol!
I’ve been a part of the fandom for years now, so I’m used to hate online, but it’s gotten to the point where it has become unbearable. I own a popular TikTok account where I post furry art, and I have been repeatedly told to kill myself by trolls on the app. Recently, I’ve even faced harassment in real life. This last weekend, I was at the park with some friends roleplaying. I was wearing my German Shepard dog fur suit and roleplaying as a puppy, playing fetch with my friends and chasing the other dogs. Soon, a woman came to our group and began verbally harassing us. I was extremely scared, so I apologized to her. She returned to her bench but continued to watch us from afar. After she saw me lift my leg and urinate in a bush, she called the police. An officer responded to the call and I was issued an ordinance violation. I’m still extremely shaken from the experience and I feel like I was targeted for being a furry. I just don’t understand why furries are treated so much worse than members of other fandoms.
The fandom has come a long way, its amazing how welcoming it is. I wish i could get a fursuit, sadly it IS a lot of money and i am still growing. Hello to my fellow furries

I was rarely bullied as a kid, I had minimal self esteem issues. The majority of furries may have these self image issues but you don't need them to be in the fandom, I have supportive friends and family, a typical middle class upbringing, and its absolutely okay if you did too, that doesn't make you any less of a furry than the majority, don't feel like you need to have issues to be in the fandom, because in the long run, everyone grows from being a part of it. lets hope you all can relate to the fandom in some way and stay proud of who you are!
The "bad apples" need care the most. You and I can show them there's a way to be better and that it's worth it. We can encourage them to move past their vices and the traumas sitting underneath. We are all human and I believe in second chances. That's my opinion.
So this is gonna be like some kinda essay, hope you enjoy. Here's the thing: me is no Furriy. I think you guys are weird, surreal, a little sick but also so kind and friendly. (at least as far as I can tell from the very few content I've seen from you) You have to purposefully avoid it to not stumble over you to not find you on the world wide web. The very first time I saw one of you, I was like "wtf ew", then I started to not care, and now I'm at a point where I say I want to understand you. Its normal for humans to fear and/or dislike things they don't understand. So I want try to take a step forward. As many here, I'm a an artist. Not digital, but still an artist. And the 'breaking' point of my craving for knowledge about you was when I drew the character on the profile Pic of a classmate. (which is not that long ago, but hey) I am thankful for TH-cam for recommending this to me, I'm watching this video while I'm typing this. My opinion on you guys hasn't changed, except now with deeper knowledge ;) You guys are weird to us 'normies' and I hope you know that and don't take it personal. My take away from this documentary is: I like you, you are nice, but still Hella weird.
Let me tell you I have been in the fandom since 1997, and I have to say yes it use to be the most excepting group around. But now it’s become the most judge mental fandom. It’s said but popufurs ruined this fandom as far as I am concerned.
I feel like the general attitude of the fandom is that if you are not gay or don't have a fursuit then you are not a furry. The fandom is all about being gay and dressing up in fursuits. At first I didn't see it this way but as time went by this is all I see anymore.
it's quite odd hearing how supported all of these people have felt in this fandom. ive been in this fandom for eight years and ive never truly felt accepted nor wanted. ive dealt with just as much bullying from people that are supposed to be my family as trolls and antifurs. i wish we could hear more perspective on furries who have experienced intense infighting and backlash, because i know im not the only one, but sometimes i feel like i am. my art is too ugly, or my first fursuit isnt perfect so im bad, or i deserve to be killed for not following the exact train of thought or doctrine as other furries. but in the end, i am so glad that so many people feel accepted here, because that's something ive always longed for.
One of my friends in 6th grade was/is a furry. They drew incredible furry art, and I begged them to teach me how- I'm not nearly as good, even after years of my own practice, but I'm getting better. They moved before 7th grade, though. I still have their number but we don't ever really talk. I'vd discovered since then that they turned me into a furry, lol. I'm planning on making a mini partial suit very soon!
Questioning during 6th grade, Official by 7th, and now I'm a Senior in Highschool, time flies but these documentaries help a lot with keeping my morale up when in doubt! ..Only downside to watching, I get serious FOMO since I've never been to a con although I want to, I don't have a suit [Due to being a minor, but I haven't grown much in the recent year], and I barely have anything furry friends to share my enthusiasm with (2 cousins, 1 close friend; but I rarely see any of them). Just kinda feel like I'm in a dry state in terms of local furs, even if I'm wrong, I have yet or no way to meet them. I live in GA btw, Am I alone in what I'm feeling?

Yeah they could’ve easily found people from for example Germany which has a lot of furries. Or the awesome furries from Japan and other Asian countries! Two Mexican furries for “international” isn’t very representative

I’m struggling to “break” into the fandom, for a start I can’t draw (I did not get that skill from my dad he can draw) nor can I put my ideas on paper like I can see my character in my head but I can’t translate her to paper or digital
Your dad wasnt born with art skill, he likely had to nurture the skill and practice drawing every day to get where he is at No one is born with artistic skills, if drawing shapes is hard you start with tracing so you can get a handle on makeing lines that look like what is in your head, (just dont post traced art without permission, i fully accept people tracing my art to learn and they can post it as long as they give credit!) Eventually you get used to drawing certain things and the next step is to see shapes inside of the drawing, like a circle is the head and a chest is a trapizoid or legs are tubes, then you study anatomy so you can get things more avcurate to life, then you bend those rules of anatomy to make more animated and interesting poses, and you cant skip color theory (lots of free tutorials online) Some people even just put ears tail and paws on objects like a box or TV and that makes an interesting character still There are also tons of free to use bases that you can use to make a ref sheet for your character, and from there you can commission artwork and post that, many people have lots of fallowers dispite only having designed a character without making any origonal art And last but not least, you dont need to draw anything to create art, you can sculpt (with clay or any random material you can glue together), use paper crafts, colages, moodboards, make jewlery for fursuits, sew plushes, etc... There is so much that you can do, just keep in mind that skill isnt something people are born with, it was always nurtured and worked on and took years for them to get to where they are today.
@@wasumoto457 not true, the most basic of designs are often loved and revied as creative, i watch an animator whos characters are just objects with faces and paws, and people are alwais telling them how origonal their designs are. Also someone who has a basic fox with a box over its head, people love it Creativity is just the idea to create something, there are no strick guidelines dispite what some artists and many art collectors try to say. Imo, in all honesty, NOTHING is truely origonal, i made up a species that peiple have called "and origonal design" but i litteraly just took a exsiting fossle, slaped some fur on it, gave it a rodent nose, made it stand upright, and threw some horns on it. The real trick is to not presure yourself or create art just for the sake of pleasing others, but to make what you want to see, what you like. If you like dinos and sea life, combine them! Like how a certain animals horn looks? TOSS IT ON, maybe a weird tail? WITH BLADES ON IT! spikie or flat teef? Claws or paws? You dont need to make something interesting to create and develope your skill, if its something you truly want, you work twards it! My main sona, in my icon, is litteraly a blue wolf dog, and others are in a similar boat, just 2 animals and some color slapped on, one of them even was a dog that i decided to turn into a hyeena, and their whole design is based on a riceball, and other than some pink accents, they are all black and white. You can even make a furry version of a cartoon/anime/show/real person and make it a whole diferent character from the origonal insperation (one of my characters i litteraly based off a anime character, colors and marking look basicaly like the characters outfit) If you struggle too much to let go of the idea of getting popular off your art, it honestly just is not for you, no one gets popularity on porpus, many artists started by simply sharing what they did with no intention to make money or gain attention through it, popularity just happens, it cant really be willed into exsotance, ots not like being infamous, wich can be instantly gained though clout and pushing sensitive topics, but no one actually LIKES those kinds of people.

@@wasumoto457 i didnt assume anything, it was an example cause I dont know you or what you are aiming for I was just trying to help You could have also said that i "assumed" you liked certain things but you didnt cause you understood that it was an analogy and not an assumption of you, why did you feel so attacked when the analogy turned to one about clout? Im a very understanding person you know nothing about and if you hate people this mich over a few words when you dont know anytjing about them you need some help (not trying to be mean, im being real, I myself did the same thing and hated people and pushed them away for me assuming they were taking a shitty tone with me when i had no context of such, i got help, im still dealing with it, and i still make mistakes, im only human, but ive been improoving and being patient with others) I used to say i hated people too but the truth was i hated the things people said or did, i didnt actually hate people, i just didnt understand them and too often read text in a condesending tone out of habbit, now i try and read things people say if different tones other than condesending or angry, cause reading everything that people say to you in that way is not helthy. All i can think to say now that might help is to not be so critical of your own art, find small bits of each peice that you like and are proud of and focus on that, adjust what you see in your head to match more of what you draw, look back on older art and point out to yourself what you have improoved on and what needs improoving, and, im pretty sure NO artist actually is capeable of creating exactly what they see in their head, we all just come to accept that and keep drawing what we think of as close as we can.

I have been in the Fandom for 6-8 years I have meant so many wonderful friends and even my boyfriend this community got me out of some really dark times and is still helping me heal from my past it just makes you feel amazing every time that my friends and boyfriend and myself get to go to cons when they have one it just feels like home and one big family to us especially after working 40 hours to taking off a few days to hang out with others like you its just something that stays with you always seeing peoples fursonas their ideas their species everything its just amazing and shows people that we love our hobby and our Fandom. I just want everyone to know I love you all and I give all you guys a huge hug wherever you're at just remember we are a family a community we got to be there for each other and not listen to the haters and the people that left the Fandom calling the Fandom toxic my friends my boyfriend and I don't care about the Twitter and or politics people or issues cause we don't care about politics and don't have Twitter cause Twitter is a shit site in general and had nothing to do with Furries or the Fandom being toxic. We just ignore those types of people and help others at cons to have a good time to show this is still amazing Fandom no matter what is going on your all special to me your all family next time you see someone at a con show them you care and love them to. I'll be here if anyone wants to talk or need to for comfort and Ash love you and thank you for making this video made my day better had a bad day at work but you cheered me up I have been following your channel for a long time and I'm happy to see your growing you deserve it ^^

I've been a closet furry for over a decade and after watching this and the The Furry Fandom Documentary, I can 100% say with confidence that holy crap I am a total furry and will begin to embrace my creativity and imagination in the future!! I love being in the fandom despite not having a fursuit or having been to a con. I want to go to denfur so bad though. The other truth is that one of the things that made brought me together with my girlfriend is the furry fandom.
This community is a force for love, good, and tolerance. I know we have bad apples in here, but I’m positive that we as a fandom have made a difference in peoples lives. Bringing a sense of belonging, friendship, and community to those who think they are alone in this world, that there is nobody like them, is a great feeling.
May the fandom live on, and may we one day be accepted by society at large.
This really does show that no matter what personality, no matter what nationality, no matter what race. You can also be in this community/fandom, and it shows what your favorite thing says about you in all of the good ways

Yeah, of course I know I'm not an animal walking on two feet. I know I'm a human, and quite the silly one, when I dress up as a character I created to talk to other silly people on the internet, but it's just so much fun. Doesn't hurt anyone and makes for some weird spectacle. That's why I'm a furry and why I like the fandom. Be yourself, be silly, have balance in life between the seriousness of working, studying or whatever you're doing at the moment, and interaction with other furries where goofyness is not frowned upon.
And what's strange is that I was never really bullied or left out by the group. I was always one of the stronger guys in my little sphere of acquaintances, never had problems with anyone, I just love the fun and goofy, even silly aspect of the fandom. You're talking to many different people, noone cares about religion, color of skin or anything, really, it's just how you are to people that defines how you are seen in the fandom. That is a beautiful aspect as well. Furries are some of the most likeable and honest people I've met.
I’ve never understood what furry’s were because when I asked my friends (in school) they said that it was weird and that I knew what was wrong with being one. Then they would of course aske if I was a furry. Now that I actually have a good grasp about what it is, it feels like the world has opened up lol. Thanks for that, now I’m in love with the fandom. Thank you for the creation of this series and your documentary film. I've been remotely adjacent to the fandom, in that I've somewhat known of the existence of the fandom, for about 25 years now. In fact, a furry got me involved in the general Science Fiction convention scene, but I never knew about furry cons until maybe a decade ago. I'm glad I got to see where the fandom went since I last connected with it, and suspect that involvement may become greater as I've recently reconnected with the fandom.

i draw these characters since im 7-8 years old without knowing abt this magical fandom and one day my sister was calling me to show me something and i saw people with costumes of animals and my sister said "see how cute and silly is it", i said "your right i wanna join the fandom!". My sister helped me to create my first character as a dinomask and since that day i am the happiest woman in the world, the furry helped me to get out of the house and to actually accept myself and it helped me during my dark times. i don't know how to say thank you cause it will never be enough!
People have a tendency to judge others by their outward appearance rather than who they are on the inside, so why not project an outward appearance that reflects the "inner you"? I think maybe thats part of the appeal; you probably feel less judged.
The reason why I am in the furry community is because I feel like I am myself and I wont get judged. Its like a secondary family that I can go to and talk to about things that I want to do and get some support and I can go to talk about my life situation with me being 21 years old and trying to figure out what I want to do in life and try and live my best life. When I saw that there were other transgender people in the community I knew that this was a safe space and I can be myself in here. Im gonna get a little off topic here, but I have had the crappiest year of my life. My dads father passed away in February and a few months after that my parents filed for a divorce and they just separated almost 2 months ago and I feel like I'm in a state that I can't get my life on track, but when I talk to some of my friends in the community I can get away from all the sadness and have a laugh and have them come over and give me hugs and tell me that they love me because I am probably the best friend that they have because I changed their lives and I feel like they are trying to keep me together and tell me that everything is going to be okay. I genuinely love this community because I wouldn't have met my girlfriend and friends who im going to invite to my wedding because they are always with me and are always welcome to come over and see me and play video games or drive around in my car or go skateboarding with them or sit down and watch a movie or sit down and have a couple of drinks and talk about life with each other. This is probably the best way for me to describe this community as a second family to me.
I enjoyed this so much, I love this community. I feel like this community would be a great fit for me, sort of bummed I never found my way to you all. Keep being you, because you are all wonderful!
I'm definitely going through this whole season, I wish I'd learn sooner about this, getting to know the fandom better and from an inside point of view definitely changed my opinion on lots of stuff !

I have pretty severe social anxiety, I am working on a fursuit sort of, i might go to a furry convention next year, my mom told me we should! I’m going to make a full body suit when my bones stop growing lol!

I’ve been a part of the fandom for years now, so I’m used to hate online, but it’s gotten to the point where it has become unbearable. I own a popular TikTok account where I post furry art, and I have been repeatedly told to kill myself by trolls on the app. Recently, I’ve even faced harassment in real life. This last weekend, I was at the park with some friends roleplaying. I was wearing my German Shepard dog fur suit and roleplaying as a puppy, playing fetch with my friends and chasing the other dogs. Soon, a woman came to our group and began verbally harassing us. I was extremely scared, so I apologized to her. She returned to her bench but continued to watch us from afar. After she saw me lift my leg and urinate in a bush, she called the police. An officer responded to the call and I was issued an ordinance violation. I’m still extremely shaken from the experience and I feel like I was targeted for being a furry. I just don’t understand why furries are treated so much worse than members of other fandoms.
I needed something like this to watch after a bad day of work.

I was rarely bullied as a kid, I had minimal self esteem issues. The majority of furries may have these self image issues but you don't need them to be in the fandom, I have supportive friends and family, a typical middle class upbringing, and its absolutely okay if you did too, that doesn't make you any less of a furry than the majority, don't feel like you need to have issues to be in the fandom, because in the long run, everyone grows from being a part of it. lets hope you all can relate to the fandom in some way and stay proud of who you are!

The "bad apples" need care the most. You and I can show them there's a way to be better and that it's worth it. We can encourage them to move past their vices and the traumas sitting underneath. We are all human and I believe in second chances. That's my opinion.

Here's the thing: me is no Furriy. I think you guys are weird, surreal, a little sick but also so kind and friendly. (at least as far as I can tell from the very few content I've seen from you)
You have to purposefully avoid it to not stumble over you to not find you on the world wide web. The very first time I saw one of you, I was like "wtf ew", then I started to not care, and now I'm at a point where I say I want to understand you. Its normal for humans to fear and/or dislike things they don't understand. So I want try to take a step forward.
As many here, I'm a an artist. Not digital, but still an artist. And the 'breaking' point of my craving for knowledge about you was when I drew the character on the profile Pic of a classmate.

Let me tell you I have been in the fandom since 1997, and I have to say yes it use to be the most excepting group around. But now it’s become the most judge mental fandom. It’s said but popufurs ruined this fandom as far as I am concerned.
I feel like the general attitude of the fandom is that if you are not gay or don't have a fursuit then you are not a furry. The fandom is all about being gay and dressing up in fursuits. At first I didn't see it this way but as time went by this is all I see anymore.

it's quite odd hearing how supported all of these people have felt in this fandom. ive been in this fandom for eight years and ive never truly felt accepted nor wanted. ive dealt with just as much bullying from people that are supposed to be my family as trolls and antifurs. i wish we could hear more perspective on furries who have experienced intense infighting and backlash, because i know im not the only one, but sometimes i feel like i am. my art is too ugly, or my first fursuit isnt perfect so im bad, or i deserve to be killed for not following the exact train of thought or doctrine as other furries. but in the end, i am so glad that so many people feel accepted here, because that's something ive always longed for.
One of my friends in 6th grade was/is a furry. They drew incredible furry art, and I begged them to teach me how- I'm not nearly as good, even after years of my own practice, but I'm getting better. They moved before 7th grade, though. I still have their number but we don't ever really talk. I'vd discovered since then that they turned me into a furry, lol. I'm planning on making a mini partial suit very soon!

Questioning during 6th grade, Official by 7th, and now I'm a Senior in Highschool, time flies but these documentaries help a lot with keeping my morale up when in doubt!
..Only downside to watching, I get serious FOMO since I've never been to a con although I want to, I don't have a suit [Due to being a minor, but I haven't grown much in the recent year], and I barely have anything furry friends to share my enthusiasm with (2 cousins, 1 close friend; but I rarely see any of them). Just kinda feel like I'm in a dry state in terms of local furs, even if I'm wrong, I have yet or no way to meet them. I live in GA btw, Am I alone in what I'm feeling?

I’m struggling to “break” into the fandom, for a start I can’t draw (I did not get that skill from my dad he can draw) nor can I put my ideas on paper like I can see my character in my head but I can’t translate her to paper or digital
Your dad wasnt born with art skill, he likely had to nurture the skill and practice drawing every day to get where he is at
No one is born with artistic skills, if drawing shapes is hard you start with tracing so you can get a handle on makeing lines that look like what is in your head, (just dont post traced art without permission, i fully accept people tracing my art to learn and they can post it as long as they give credit!)
Eventually you get used to drawing certain things and the next step is to see shapes inside of the drawing, like a circle is the head and a chest is a trapizoid or legs are tubes, then you study anatomy so you can get things more avcurate to life, then you bend those rules of anatomy to make more animated and interesting poses, and you cant skip color theory (lots of free tutorials online)
Some people even just put ears tail and paws on objects like a box or TV and that makes an interesting character still
There are also tons of free to use bases that you can use to make a ref sheet for your character, and from there you can commission artwork and post that, many people have lots of fallowers dispite only having designed a character without making any origonal art
And last but not least, you dont need to draw anything to create art, you can sculpt (with clay or any random material you can glue together), use paper crafts, colages, moodboards, make jewlery for fursuits, sew plushes, etc... There is so much that you can do, just keep in mind that skill isnt something people are born with, it was always nurtured and worked on and took years for them to get to where they are today.

@@wasumoto457 not true, the most basic of designs are often loved and revied as creative, i watch an animator whos characters are just objects with faces and paws, and people are alwais telling them how origonal their designs are.
Also someone who has a basic fox with a box over its head, people love it
Creativity is just the idea to create something, there are no strick guidelines dispite what some artists and many art collectors try to say.
Imo, in all honesty, NOTHING is truely origonal, i made up a species that peiple have called "and origonal design" but i litteraly just took a exsiting fossle, slaped some fur on it, gave it a rodent nose, made it stand upright, and threw some horns on it.
The real trick is to not presure yourself or create art just for the sake of pleasing others, but to make what you want to see, what you like.
If you like dinos and sea life, combine them! Like how a certain animals horn looks? TOSS IT ON, maybe a weird tail? WITH BLADES ON IT! spikie or flat teef? Claws or paws?
You dont need to make something interesting to create and develope your skill, if its something you truly want, you work twards it!
My main sona, in my icon, is litteraly a blue wolf dog, and others are in a similar boat, just 2 animals and some color slapped on, one of them even was a dog that i decided to turn into a hyeena, and their whole design is based on a riceball, and other than some pink accents, they are all black and white. You can even make a furry version of a cartoon/anime/show/real person and make it a whole diferent character from the origonal insperation (one of my characters i litteraly based off a anime character, colors and marking look basicaly like the characters outfit)
If you struggle too much to let go of the idea of getting popular off your art, it honestly just is not for you, no one gets popularity on porpus, many artists started by simply sharing what they did with no intention to make money or gain attention through it, popularity just happens, it cant really be willed into exsotance, ots not like being infamous, wich can be instantly gained though clout and pushing sensitive topics, but no one actually LIKES those kinds of people.

Im a very understanding person you know nothing about and if you hate people this mich over a few words when you dont know anytjing about them you need some help (not trying to be mean, im being real, I myself did the same thing and hated people and pushed them away for me assuming they were taking a shitty tone with me when i had no context of such, i got help, im still dealing with it, and i still make mistakes, im only human, but ive been improoving and being patient with others)
I used to say i hated people too but the truth was i hated the things people said or did, i didnt actually hate people, i just didnt understand them and too often read text in a condesending tone out of habbit, now i try and read things people say if different tones other than condesending or angry, cause reading everything that people say to you in that way is not helthy.
All i can think to say now that might help is to not be so critical of your own art, find small bits of each peice that you like and are proud of and focus on that, adjust what you see in your head to match more of what you draw, look back on older art and point out to yourself what you have improoved on and what needs improoving, and, im pretty sure NO artist actually is capeable of creating exactly what they see in their head, we all just come to accept that and keep drawing what we think of as close as we can.
