The first step of having good taste is having taste at all. A lot of people try almost all varietions of one thing but can't tell what they like specifically. You can't claim you have taste withing an area your not discriminant about. At least have a favourites The last thing is your tastes should make sense to you and to others. It's doesn't have to, like what you like bit if you want to be considered an authority of what's good and what's not, you need to make your case on why it's good. Generally, by getting people who also have good taste to back you up or just being first to a trend.
I really don’t like it when people put a lot of their personal stuff out online. I think it’s in very much bad taste. This is why you don’t walk around nude in public or make posts that are in bad taste
You know Thom, what about those individuals who have an 'inverted' sense of attraction to the classical human lines of comfort and harmony? Would you consider them to have bad taste? I do. It's hard however as periods change and norms are contested to say what is good taste. Also as styles change should you be flexible? Or stay true to your beliefs? You know, talking about comfort and harmony, fighting about something 'forgoable' is pretty harsh in itself. Your thoughts?
