Big fan of all the Engine shop visits, never get tired of learning from all those guys experience. Talking about real world situations involving cracked parts. Fascinating, I`d be happy just to learn what they`ve forgotten over those years,,,
I have been doing business with Zephyr Engine Service since it was owned by Charley Melot back in the 90s. EXCELLENT quality and they stand behind their work.
Rolls-Royce O-200‘s were used on several European airplanes. I remember the French built (Reims) Cessna 150 (152 I am not sure of), and French Morane-Saulnier / SOCATA Rallye 100‘s. IIRC Beagle Pups too. I am not sure if it was due to the actual engines, but I had the impression that the C-90‘s ran smoother than the RR O-200‘s (might be my imagination though).
Great video once again! Kermit found it very interesting. What is happening with the Messerschmitt 108 project? Looking forward to more of the same stay safe 👍
I'm lookin or the young guys [37:02? 34:55].. maybe goin to have to build a robot for the engine shop to keep it goin... that plays flies, plays golf and swims.... anyway, great tour, good stories (and the fish oil lube).
NO CAM bearings ? Very interesting As an ALFA ROMEO engine builder, Alfa does the same thing Bearings on the crank but NONE of the cam, it just rides on the aluminum block Regardless , Alfa engines can easily rev to 8 grand without a problem
Is this the same Continental company that made the gas Massey-Ferguson tractor engines?...I'm sure it's not associated with the Continental tire company...lots of Continental companies come to think of it...Continental engines, Continental tires, Continental Lincoln(Ford)-(Continental was it's own division of Ford in 1956-57).....
I’m 71 and I wish I was in Kermit’s shape.

Years of experience and technology, can't beat it.
Interesting thank you Kermit......
Old F-4 pilot Shoe🇺🇸
Great video Kermit. Honestly I would go with Slick mags and a Stromberg carb with no mixture.
Hello, I really like airplanes. I follow them from Thailand.

Love to see these projects done and flying and more flying vidios

Have not seen a 108 update since Paul left. Very sad. “Act 3” might just be curtains for the whole operation.
108 is on hold for a bit. I’ve got seven + projects in restoration off site, and I just got a new project that will be unboxed in a video next week.

If you would like to give that rolls O-200 a home we could use it for an aircraft at the Vintage Flying Museum!

Regarding the o200 crank mod, doesn’t the horse power increase come simply from an increase in the rpm limit to 2750?
Larger bore too
NO CAM bearings ?
