This game was so smooth. I wish I had a nickel for every hour I spent playing it. Best 16-Bit football game ever!

Nope. I still have and play these old classics over 30 years later. It never gets old to me and I never get tired of playing them and I'm 42 years old
This is the best-looking passing I've seen in any 16-bit game. What I mean is, the way the QB steps into the throw, and the receiver continues on his route, and the timing is right, and a big catch downfield feels like a big deal. It also looks smoother than the videos I've watched of NFL 95. I had the first game in this series, Joe Montana Sports Talk Football.
Still the closest approximation of pressing a button from QB to WR to date... 12:45 is the best illustration imo

MEL GRAY from the DETROIT LIONS is a CHEAT CODE on this game I would run to the 1 yard line then turn around and run to the end zone and turn around and run up and down the sideline across the field twice then score somebody try him Joe Montana was always my favorite football series next to madden and Bill Walsh college football as well as that college football game modeled after Joe Montana sportstalk the 90's were the days.
The holder for the Buffalo Bills was the fastest player in the game if I remember right. Just do a fake field goal and bam! That dude would outrun everyone.

This game had some good improvements from 93 game but also some negatives that really bugged me. Like how glitchy the fumbles are in 94. In 93 fumbles didnt zip up the field like they do in 94 game. Fumble physics were much more realistic in 93 and I dont understand why it was changed in 94. Seems like a glitch to me. Also season outcomes were random in 93 game. In 94 the same teams would always make it to the super bowl. 94 had better passing/ receiving and better player moves like turbo boost and hurdle leaping. Also 94 had player league leader stats. 93 didnt have league leader stats.

I remember this game. Back when football use to be good.
Sad this never actually was a Super Bowl matchup. The Texas Bowl!!! Imagine Warren Moon and that Run & Shoot offense facing off against the triple threat of Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin? Maybe if Houston had not blown a 35-3 lead against Buffalo, it might've really happened.
The Cowboys defense would have been the difference. They were a top 5 D most of the decade and the only reason Aikman made playoffs in 1996 and 1999.
The Oilers had more talent than anybody in the AFC at that time. Giving up the 35-3 lead to Buffalo in ‘92 and then getting upset at home by the Chiefs in ‘93 hurt my feelings as a kid.
The commentator sounds like Robert Mitchum.

Still play it on my phone with a Genesis emulator.
They shouldn't have got rid of the different camera view. I liked the 93 side view to play better.
I prefer the vertical view but you can change the view in this game to horizontal like it was in 93.
Also the Panasonic 3DO. Reference as multiplayer meaning that it plays multiple things rather than the modern meaning. The video game market was oversaturated. With Sega genesis Snes Atari Jaguar Phillips Cdi. And when PS1 sega Saturn N64 was on it s way the 3DO eventually knew it was doomed and threw in the towel
I could never figure out passing in this game. It was so frustrating.
It was simple to pass. Select a passing play. Use "B" to select your intended target before snapping the ball. Snap the ball and then press "A" to throw the ball to your target. You would also want to try to time the throw right while not getting sacked.
How can there be so many digits on a simple Megadrive ?

Did you know that the reason the 3DO. Was 700 dollar's was because the companies working with 3DO were not manufacturing it so they had to make back their money by selling it that much

This is why having Madden having a monopoly on football video games has ruined football games. This game is faster and smoother than Madden. Now madden doesn’t have to up there game because there the only option.
So far the NHL is the only league in which dead franchise's have revived. For instance. The whinepeg Jets are a franchise revived

Madden had a better passing game than this one. To do a simple pass without getting intercepted was freaking impossible
