  • In these perilous times for our democracy and our planet, brain science shows us why we should favor belonging over "othering." This fourth video in the "Citizen Brain" series is hosted by Josh Kornbluth, an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute. Featuring john a. powell, director of the Othering & Belonging Institute; UCSF neuroscientists Bruce Miller, MD, and Serggio Lanata, MD, MS; and Harvard political philosopher Danielle Allen, PhD.

Josh ...I found this channel way too late. The Mrs and I have been very long term Haiku Tunnel fans.
For sure we'll be watching it during the holidays as a tradition.
Your musings are addictive, and it's great to see you're still at it.
    Please keep it up!

I was born with hope. After 57 years i am on the fear side, If someone has a scary self i don't care if we both like Cartoons. They are scary so have them go away please.

I hear you! If someone doesn't believe I should exist, then I don't want to have anything to do with them. But at 64 (!!), I still cling to hope that there are enough of us who believe we're all in this together, who believe in love over hate.

It is impossible to tell what this video is actually saying, because you won't come right out and say what you think we should be doing...

I get that you have a good heart. However, your plan, carried to its logical fruition would result in totalitarianism. A much better way to deal with "other" is explained in Emmanuel Levinas' book, "Totality and Infinity."
