Monty doesn’t deserve a pass at all, not making the right decisions or fast enough decisions for someone getting paid to be a top coach in the NBA. At $80 mil, you should be maximizing the talent of the roster even if there isn’t much there. He’s arguably done the opposite.
I like Ivey, but after watching his film a few years ago, you can see that typical scoring combo guard who doesn't quite have a defined style of play.. like they always look good in college, but really inefficient in the pros. Maybe his ceiling is a bit higher but....he has a lot to work on.
Man I thought James was in his 40's. He must've started as a writer at like 19 or 18. I kinda wished ya'll talked more about who to target with all the flexibility. This off-season needs to be moves heavy.
Durens ankles affects his defense IMO. Killian should have been moved last summer. Ivey and sasser would've been exposed a lot sooner. People forget about all of the injuries in the beginning of the season. There is no core 4.
IVEY and SASSER are playing bad imo due to entirely bad coaching and training staff. None of our player are developing and our entire team of the youth, we rebuilding on are not healthy. That should concern ever fan in detroi (CADE is playing limited due to his knees, Duren continue ankle injuries, Asuar Blood clot could be a bigger issues if not career ending, and Stewart rarely healthy. In reality the only people we can build on is IVEY and SASSER the only healthy player left out of that young core that plays regularly so of course all of their stats would drop they play the most games with a group of G-League level player starting with them. Team chemistry is built and if players are always injured you want have any. And we have a bad coaching staff and training staff so that adds to all the problems.
If I’m being honest I don’t see those core guys being there long term. Ivey is the only guy I see wanting to be there his whole career. The rest of them when the iron gets real hot they are gonna bail. Duren, Cade and Stew won’t be pistons in their prime. Asuar might stay a lil while but I see him goin to play closer to his brother at some point maybe. Just my opinion.
Duren will be happy to play for whatever team pays him which will probably be the Pistons. One would think the lack of trade value for Drummond would have been a lesson about the value of bigs who only score in the paint and play mediocre defense.
@@pheralanpathfinder4897 Yes, this is why the Pistons should not pay him unless the defense improves basically more than we have ever seen the defense improve for any other player in history.
I would trade Jalen Durham for UConn's big man He's smart he's big he can pass the ball block shots also Tennessee's best player He's a beast pissing can get those two I will get rid of a bunch of these guys we got karnet
Monty has been nothing short of horrible I mean come on he’s lost us alot of winnable games by playing an all bench lineup it’s not fair to our starters for them to get a lead only for it to go away due to montys poor coaching, no matter who we have on this team it won’t work because Monty is a stubborn coach, idiotic lineups no in game adjustments and the worst thing is his mindset he only cares about ‘‘competing’’ instead of winning he has to get fired he is stunting our cores development.
Pistons need to trade Stew Ivey our first pick for Lauri markenen on sign and trade with Utah resign frontecchio and Flynn sign Klay Thompson for 4 years 30 a year (over pay) Jonathan Issac (15 a year 3 years with a way out year three) pick up cp3 vet minimum trade sassor and our second for caurso we ready to compete but troy should go before Monty he didn't get Monty none of his guys with all the money we had not even oubre
I don't think the Jazz would accept your offer. And I am certain the Bulls would turn you down, Sasser + a late second is a totally worthless trade package. And Klay is washed.
@@Jamar-lg9ob No, that's not true: the Pistons pick #51 in the second round this year as of now. Weaver traded their own pick (currently #31) in the Kennard/Bey draft-night trade, and he had the Wiz second rounder (currently #32) but traded THAT pick for Fontecchio.
Draft Sarr, put Stew on the bench. Thompson, Starr, Duren would be a dominant defensive trio thar could rebound all day and i think the scoring would be fine even with limited shooters. Starr has potential as a shooter.
Are we even sure Thompson will be playing next season, i heard this blood clot issues could be very series, and effect traveling on planes and etc. Notice how it is no updates on his future with the team.
Duren is a garbage defender and Sarr is a 5, though? There is no reason to think Sarr will ever shoot, and no reason to think he would be ready to start right away, but if he is then you're moving Duren to the bench rather than Stew.

Let me be more clear, the reason why I said give Monty a pass was because he just got here. I don't give him a pass for rotations and other stuff.
You should make this a once-month thing, Anthony James is such a great listen. Love you both.
Once Duren hurt his ankle this season he never played with the same energy
Hope you guys enjoys todays episode
Ivey also needs to be a good defender, without defense even if he becomes a league average shooter he will peak as a bench piece.

you can never fairly evaluate casey's tenure, because he was OBVIOUSLY ordered to TANK.

What I don't understand is how Duran and Ausar could work any time soon. Frankly, they're a lot worse fit than Cade and Ivey.
Need a shooter at 4 like Lauri and shooter at 2 let Ivey be 6th man combo guard
No pass given to Monty

Yes of course it is true there is no core 4; the core is still one (1) player.
I can see a CP3 coming here... Hes familiar with montys style plus he could help mentor yhe young fellas @Pistons_Talk

So how does the rest of the league feel about our young players?
That’s a great question I’m not entirely sure

Oh! This ain't my man Buda Edward's of the pistons. My bad!
Trade that top pick. Pistons need a three level offensive 2 and plays versatile position less defender. Is there one such player in this draft?
John Isaac, Try and get Mikal Bridges or Ingram, maybe throw an offer to a Kelly Oubre type player
I would like us to go after a stretch center with solid help defense IQ. Maybe a Zach Collins
State of the Detroit Pistons: permanently fucked.
