How does a car auction work ? They drive them thru a auction ring or have a auctioneer driving the rows in the parking lot ? Been to 100s of farm auctions , never a car auction . Just wondering . Good job on the videos . 👍👍👍👍
They just drive them through bays. Some people bid in person but it seems most now just bid online. Thanks man!
Manheim PA is fucking nuts. Make sure you have all gate passes. Unfortunately Lock up all your shit. Did a drop three, pick three load at Mannheim. After I dropped all three of my cars, I was inside pulling, came back with my second car, my ramps and tiedown straps were stolen. Thank God I use a different color than everybody else and also painted my ramps. Some gypsy hauler had taken them not too far from me 😡

@@karhauler7887 seems that way. Wanting something to work and making it work are 2 very different concepts. He’ll learn. Probably cost him. But I failed in business twice before I figured it out. I sure as hell wasn’t telling anybody how to do it when I didn’t know though lol.
The next time you pick up 3 cars from there you'll have to do a vid on the pickers the price and the time it takes to see if its worth it to us them 😉. Your time is valuable it might be worth using them for full loads only

How's the truck handling and braking with 3 cars?
It’s a little more noticeable for both. The suspensions on the cars and trucks that I haul bounce and move out of sync with why my truck and trailer is doing so it gets a little pushy sometimes. Just gotta take it easy. Slow in turns and brake early. 👍

I’m honestly not sure what I want to do with it. I like having it but I haven’t used it since I bought the car hauler lol.

I think it I had no experience securing freight that I’d definitely start with cars.

Thank you 👍 You can absolutely do that, that’s how I did it too. I honestly doing know many hotshot companies but the ones I do know aren’t actively hiring right now.
Puller there charge like 6 bucks a car its worth the money
Yep. $18 could’ve saved me about 2 1/2 hours and allowed me to knock out a delivery of 1.
Are these auctions go to or coming from a dealership or to individuals? Or repossessed or ??? Can anyone get into bidding on these vehicles,,, they look brand new, I could get good deal on a honda.
These are generally open dealerships or individuals with dealer licenses.

Thats awesome man. I was at Manheim that day. I was in the silver Peterbuilt on the end. The headlamps are actually on lol. You have to go around my truck at the end of the row of trucks to pull into a parking spot.

You would think auction lot rent those little elect scooters they would make a fortune 🤣 they used to be one on every corner down town Nashville
Louisville is the same way lol. They had 3 shuttles rolling around. I didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for one, the time consumer came from 3 or 4 drivers all jumping on the same shuttle and having to find their vehicles first before it was your turn.
That time spent at the auction accumulates on the HoS clock, too, no? It's been a long week, sorry. Love the vid, as always, brother.
That’s a super grey area. Technically yes but you just have to show picks and deliveries, fueling, dot inspections, pretrip and post trip inspections. I never log more than 15-20 minutes per car on duty. That’s about how long it takes to load and secure. Walking around, waiting on shuttles, waiting on paperwork, waiting in line and all that mess doesn’t get me paid. If I’m not getting paid then I’m not working. If I’m not working I’m not on duty. I show what I have to show. Nothing more.

Overall average is pretty much 70-80 cpm each

You can go to Mannheim’s website and use lot vision yourself. I’ve waited close to an hour on shuttles before. Il take one if they’re not super busy but sometimes it’s easier to walk. Lot vision will take you right too your car.
