I live in a 4 season place as well and I put all my off season clothes into boxes and put them in the basement. It makes my closet more manageable and when a new season comes around it’s like going shopping because everything seems new again.
I also live in a 4 season place, just this year i have done the same. Accept I got these under the bed storage things and I put my spring/summer things away under my bed and what a difference it makes In the closet and In my over active brain.
I live in four seasons (UK). I don’t do four seasons really. I use layers. T-shirts and jumpers. Capri pants and full length pants. Two boots. Two shoes. Two sandals. Two coats. One lighter one winter. One bag that matches everything. I used to get overwhelmed changing seasons. In the UK it can be cold and raining in the morning and hot and sunny by the afternoon. So layers work for me. I now have about 20 items of clothing for the whole year 😂. I had over 140. It was such a difficult process but am so glad I did it. I sometimes think it’d be easier to not live in four seasons but I do love the seasons.😊
I have a tiny closet for a 4 season climate 🇨🇦. I have a 20" closet with a top bar and bottom bar. I remove out of season pieces and pack them in a tub in the attic. Currently very wintery and freezing temperatures here so my closet has long sleeve tops & blouses, slacks, blazers & sweater vests (professional dress most days). I think being very clear in your personal style is the key to owning less clothing!
That’s A LOT of clothes! I have fully embraced simplicity in my wardrobe within the last year or two. I have a total of maybe 5-10 dresses. 10 pairs of shoes. 5 pairs of jeans. 15 shirts/sweaters. 5 tank tops. We have a super small closet and it’s really nice to still have extra space in there because my wardrobe is so minimal. My goal was to create a ‘capsule wardrobe’ and I’m close to it!
This is really inspiring me to not only go through my closet but actually find MY style. Obviously will take awhile to curate but excited to start the adventure
I did this recently and was keeping clothes that I would fit into one day and they never had so got rid of a load of clothes :) it was a great thing to do and my mental health.
I would recommend getting one storage bin, pick a size you're comfortable with that's not taking up too much space in your house, and make that the limit of things you can keep for that .1% chance you have another baby. If it fits in the box, you give yourself permission to save it, even if it never gets used, guilt free!
Hi, I'm 74. We're in a 2BR apartment near Chicago. Off-season clothes are in a carry-on suitcase in a closet. I haven't worn a skirt in 8 years. I own 2 nice pairs of slacks. Dress for your life, not a fantasy. Tina, Al's wife
Heyy Tina, I've been seeing your comments on various decluttering videos fir the past month or so and at this point you feel like a familiar friendly presence while I delve into this genre of videos. I hope you have a lovely day! :)
I don't have seasons here, but I totally feel the "my body has changed so much over the last 5 years because kids" vibe. I was just thinking about clearing out my stuff because you're right- there are a lot of pieces I have because they're cute but I never reach for them. Maybe I'll get to this this weekend! Thanks for the inspo!
Love this! I actually re-watched your birth vlog before I went into labour for vlog inspo. I'm 6 days postpartum with my second and my house already feels so much busier with all the baby clutter 😅
Lol yesterday i got a trash bag and started loading it up w everything that i had been saving in my closet. I lost my phone and didnt find it until today when i went to grab socks and found my phone....too much stuff I know i relate to not wanting to let go of outfuts that were worn for sentimental occasions.
Love this! Inspired me to clean out my closet as well. Also so funny but I had my daughter back in March of this year and hasn’t seen any of your videos until very recently, and noticed our daughters have the exact same first and middle name ❤
First video of yours I’ve watched…I really enjoy your style…finally much closer to my own. ( no blazers he he). You mentioned being in four seasons I believe…I would really like to see a video on how you wear dresses in fall/winter. Your dresses mostly looked so spring/ summer, so do you wear dresses in fall/ winter? If not, what do you wear? Jeans?
This is inspiring, but when I open my closets and see all the stuff Im discouraged. Desperately need to get rid of stuff, but lack will and motivation.
I thought I saw your strawberry robe in the donate! 😢 I hope your keeping it as a keep sake. I always thought that was so sweet you had them at both births ❤
Oh wow!!! I was trying to find a video with aspects similar to my (situation) and I am LOVING this video!!! You’re mom with pregnancy/postpartum/nursing lifestyle! Your style is what I LOVE! The cottagecore, the color palettes, your style overall I just love. I have similar issues with lots of clothes because this is my 5th pregnancy and my weight is ALL over the place, plus being pregnant during different seasons, my style changing, etc. And you mentioned that you have ADHD and live in Washington- my home state 🌲🌫️ I could cry tears of gratitude. I don’t think I have ever come across a TH-cam channel that has such similar aspects and style to my own life. Such a good idea on the keywords… I have seen many ladies recommend picking 3 words for style but that was always really difficult for me. Your method of picking 6 and then narrowing it down to 3 is so much more feasible! I want to do a declutter of my clothes so badly. But it’s hard when I’m pregnant and can’t try things on, haha. So I am doing a light version of it to clean up and organize my space. I’m really glad to have found your channel.
OK wait, but at 18:00 is there a bug on that sweater? Or just a fuzz? (Also LOVE this video, it's giving me so much inspiration to clean out my own closet, ugh.)
The backwards hanger idea is GENIUS

I do this too. So nice to find old favourites and not have to see what I can't wear due to the weather.

The comfort and seasonality considerations are so important for ending up with a useful appealing selection.
Love all the soft colors and feminine clothes.
I actually prefer the overalls you choose to keep 🎉🎉🎉
I agree!
The overall you kept looked so comfy and so much cuter than the one you donated.
I love the colours in your wardrobe! Also all the prints and styles. It suits you very well. Im so happy for you and your progress

That purple dress is beautiful on you.
I need to do that since I don't reach for alot of clothes.
Love this! Inspired me to clean out my closet as well. Also so funny but I had my daughter back in March of this year and hasn’t seen any of your videos until very recently, and noticed our daughters have the exact same first and middle name ❤
And my husbands name is also Matt lop

I LOVE the print on that quilted jacket! Do you mind sharing where it’s from??

I love the top you are wearing! Mind sharing where it's from?
This is inspiring, but when I open my closets and see all the stuff Im discouraged. Desperately need to get rid of stuff, but lack will and motivation.
I loved this video! Where do you get your dresses from?
I cannot wait until I’m done having kids so I can do this too!
Okay but where is your top from!?
Loving this video! Is the top you are wearing throughout from Neuflora?
I thought I saw your strawberry robe in the donate! 😢 I hope your keeping it as a keep sake. I always thought that was so sweet you had them at both births ❤
I definitely kept it!
Hi Megan! Are you selling the blue long sleeve floral blouse on Whatnot?

Lol I’m currently doing this 😂😂 how does TH-cam know 😂
I loved this video! Also can I say I have that your last name is my maiden name!
😊🙏
I'm so worried to declutter postpartum. I want to fit back into everything 😢
Also your style is literally amazing I wish I could have gone to whatever store you donated this stuff to!
also also, I am also naming my child due in 2 weeks Rowan!
Currently pregnant and TH-cam read my mind…
I have at least that many clothes if not more..in my defence most of its thrifted.
Same here! So much of my stuff is thrifted
I just realized this video was posted 1 day ago lol!
so much clothes
Your hangers are too thick. I got rid of those. Nice dresses.
I really like the wood ones! I think for me the solution is having fewer clothes
@@MeganAcunaI love the look of the wooden hangers. They are really pretty with your gorgeous dresses on them. Great video!
