I'm hijacking this comment for anyone reading this, BE SAFE AND DON'T FUCK AROUND WITH TREES. They will literally ruin you in the blink of an eye. My grandfather used to act just like this, one day when cutting down some trees a large branch fell out from the shaking, it hit him in the head an back. It broke his spine and caused severe brain swelling. He went from a active 60 year old to a couch blob and has never been the same. It's not worth it.

Biking With Panda you know why they tear right through the ripstop material, also called Kevlar threads? It’s because the pants are designed to catch the chain in a sudden hit/impact. They are not meant to be sawed into and will therefore not always stop the chainsaw, electric or fuel powered. Also there are 3 different classes. Class 1-2-3. Each designed to withstand more speed on the chain. The faster the chain goes the higher class you need. Unless you buy some DIY made chainsaw, all sold chainsaw are made with as many safety features as possible, obviously newer models are more safer than the older models. Lastly if you are scared or afraid to use a chainsaw, then don’t use one. It is as you say, at the end of the day chainsaws are unsafe and even professionals have cut them selfs if and some even die.
