Emergency Doc here. You didn’t say but along with your Epi pen I would suggest as an adult to take Benadryl 50mg (2-25mg capsules) ASAP. Epi lasts just a few minutes. You may be in the middle of nowhere. Benadryl orally starts working in about a half hour hour and lasts a few hours. Just makes you drowsy of course. Tape pill container to Epi pen?

Add chewable Pepcid tabs to enhance the antihistamine response. Blocking histamine-2 with Pepcid as well as using the Benadryl and the EpiPen really helped relieve symptoms until we could reach a clinic for my son when he was a young dude.

ever since my purse was stolen out of my car when i was still a teen, i have never left my purse behind or lost it having a fanny pack. i dont pack them heavy, usually slide to my hip until i need to open it. only move to my back if i have to do something it would interfere with on my front. otherwise, its very comfortable and reassuring knowing your valuables are close against your body. great review ! i get flack once in a blue moon about wearing it, but i didnt leave my purse in a uber ... I just bought the XL and I really like it. I can fit my Glock 17 with a TLR7 HLX and Aimpoint ACRO stowed in a TREX ARMS raptor holster that’s Velcro’d to the fanny pack. No fitment issues at all. I have the gun canted at about 45°.
I will say, the ACRO is a tall optic and the zipper struggles a tiny bit closing over it due to the height. But I can still rapidly unzip the pack and draw just fine.
Even with my Glock 17 in the pack there’s still so much room left in the other two pockets. If you’re looking for a full size carry Fanny pack I would recommend the XL.

I have 3 waist pouches that I alternate in the warmer months of the year. I don't tuck in my shirt so most people don't even know I'm wearing one. There great for edc items that you don't want in your pockets and also for conceal carry. Waist pouches are essential part of my gear, because they keep your things secure without all the bulk.

I use mine as a daily woods walk bag. I have the standard and XL sizes. In the standard size, I carry a small folding knife, emergency poncho, small water bladder, compass, pen, memo pad, lighter, and whistle. I use the standard bag for summer walks. In the XL, I carry a 0.5-liter Platypus water bladder in the concealed carry pocket, and a pack able nylon water-repellent jacket in the main packet. In the front pocket: Mini Mag light, Swiss Army Knife, lighter, whistle, ear plugs, compass, pen, and memo pad. Firearm goes on my belt. Wallet, keys and phone in trouser pockets. I love mine, and it works great for me as a sling bag. Doesn’t move around when I’m walking. I walk the Appalachian Trail going to and from work, and the Forest Service recommends carrying basic survival gear due to the lack of cell phone service.

So far this has been the bag that has been at the top of my list of closest to what I'm looking for. I want to get the dark blue one. I bought mine today. I want it for conceal carry while on my motorcycle, especially when doing long distance rides. I typically don’t carry at all when I ride because nothing is comfortable or convenient. It’s always a pain in the butt. This thing should allow me to carry comfortably enough as well as give me another option for things like garage remote, key fob, cell phone and wallet. Lastly, I knew I would be sacrificing speed. I opted for having it vs leaving it at home.

I have the xl and have used it to "carry" while cycling and even used it on a float trip. I don't use the CCW zipper like that . I place both zippers all the way at the very bottom . I find it barely large enough for a Glock 26 (which is small) and some gear i.e. checkbook sized wallet and a phone. If I want to bring a flashlight or my keys , or a Swiss army knife , I have to use a different wallet. Not something I use everyday . I do like it however for athletic pants/shorts situations.
Side note : my xl came with an extension option.

A Nut Ruck lol I use the hill people gear waist pack as well as their kit bag. I find it great for doctor appointments, workout sessions giving me the ability to have all of my stuff with me. The last place I think this shines is at night by my bed side. Imagine a scenario when I need to grab my stuff and go in whatever I am wearing. In a fire, hurricane, middle of the night ER visit I can grab my waist pack and go and I have everything I would normally leave the house with. Also great for wearing as a medical kit if you are using a rifle and the likelihood of needing a pistol is slim but you want a pistol anyways.

This is a great bag and good for what it's designed to do (mostly). The size is just right and works as a typical fanny pack. It matches what most people would wear. I had an early version and the strap was too short, but to see the newer ones with 44 inches is good. I agree though, it carries a hole puncher, but there is no quick draw. I think that is a fair compromise in some use cases. For the prices, it's not bad either. if you ant a quick draw hole puncher carry, or some kind of woods bag that carries tons of equipment, this isn't for you and it isn't designed to be. But for real everyday use, I think it works better than most.

I actually bought one of these last week. It will be my "go to town bag" while I go to school in a liberal city. It fits my CCW and a small first aid kit in a way that doesn't scream "tactical." While CCW access isn't the fastest, staging the zippers and a little practice makes it sufficient. I agree with most of this review, but for my use case it's just what I needed.

I wear a Maxpedition version of this style of pouch when I head down the creek with the dogs. It will hold a phone, sunglasses, multitool, wet wipes, lighter, flashlight, poo bags, coyote spray, and first aid in a fairly compact size. I would never remember all these items if not in a kit. I don’t know or care about fashion but on a hot day when your clothing has to be light with few pockets this setup seems less disheveled than other setups. A carabiner on the belt to hold the lead if needed and a water bottle and I’m good to go when the dogs give the signal.🇨🇦

Great video and very informative. I've been looking very closely at both the standard and XL versions of this belt bag (I prefer the term belt bag over fanny pack). Based on your review, I think this is not the product for me. My main concern is quick access to my firearm, which it seems is just not available with this item. I do wear belt bags occasionally. Mostly when I'm wearing sweats in the winter time, or baggy shorts in the summertime. There's just nowhere to put a firearm, and all my other EDC. I would certainly not wear a belt bag with regular street clothes, pants and a shirt, etc. You're right about that; it's just not in style these days. But I always wear cargo pants, so there's always a place to stuff my EDC flashlight, multi-tool tourniquet, etc. So, I guess I'm still looking for a decent belt bag with good CCW options. Love your channel, great videos, keep it up!

Also, when youre gripping youre firearm like you mean it, with some effort, your hand gripping around the grip will help force the front compartment away. Train.

Thanks for this review. I have heard in the past that the word "fanny" is used in Europe somewhere to denote those of a certain persuasion. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what.
I love waist packs, and don't care what anyone thinks. Have used them for years. But I do hate purses, and refuse to use them ever. I'm not a fashion junkie. I do what works for me because I think for myself. I would probably go for the larger size. I hope you do a review on that one too.

If I wanted a waist bag that held a lot of stuff I have other bags. I have another bag I’m happy with and wear it in front as I dive a lot. And I can get to what I need quickly. I even deterred a stupid driver without drawing my weapon. I’m 70, in shape and I wear mine everyday. When I get out of the vehicle I move it to the side. I can even run with it.
The great part of being old is I don’t have to prove anything to anyone or even act macho. I know what I can do and what I can’t.

Ty for the Eberlestock “Pack” review, Luke. I think it is so funny that you don’t call it what it is, a Fanny Pack. However, I think it should have multiple names based upon how you wear it, to be fair. After all, if you wear it on your hip area all the time, it serves no purpose in calling it by it’s known name. It should then be a “Hip Pack” 😎. Or if worn in front, possibly call it a “Groin Pack/Protector” 😄. In any case, I feel that they serve a civilian roll in carrying a smaller amount of gear without the need to lug around a daypack backpack or sling bag that might be overkill for certain outings. That said, I have seen grown men carrying around worse “Man Purses” than this or similar “Lumbar Packs”.
As for this one, I would not buy this compared to cheaper “tactical” style ones that are bigger to carry a full size firearm, (if that is what you want to do), and have elastic cord or molle attachment points to hold items on the outside. (Amazon sells a few). Otherwise I think chest rigs or sling bags are better for filling this role and don’t look so “Man Purseish”. Anything greater in volume that is needed then would go to the small backpack.

P.S. Luke, as far as talking about firearms goes on TH-cam, I just think it depends on who does the talking. There are several channels that cover this topic and are NOT banned or penalized, such as Garande Thumb, of whom that is Mostly what he discusses on his channel in Detail. Now I don’t know if being a former military AF Spec Ops soldier has anything to do with TH-cam letting him do what he does and not allow you to talk about yours. However if anyone has safe, operating knowledge regarding firearms and wants to share it on their channel, I see nothing wrong with that. (perhaps you just need to prove to TH-cam you are certified in some way) ???

I find it’s an ok bag. I agree, it is NOT a quick draw option. And for me the rear zipper doesn’t open on its own but refuses to move easily in any direction without some oomph.

I have the same one. It’s ok , my usual pistol just fits. I don’t use it often, taken it on a few hikes, I’ve used the strap to hang a bear spray canister. Along with other eberlestock items, it’s got some bulk to the construction that seems to limit its useful space like it’s almost just big enough to put all the edc things. Quality is great and the gray is too gaudy.

I carry a sling bag to manage and transport the gear that I would use this product for. Larger capacity, better buckle and strap (basically a seat belt), throw it over one shoulder or cross body in the front or the back, and it’s not a F-pack that had it’s moment in about 1991 and should be permanently left there. Backpack or sling bag all the way, never this. Nice review! I’m sure it’s well made, I’ll just never buy or wear one.

I might buy the larger version. I have a lot of 5:11 gear and when I have to take public transportation I get people accusing me of being a cop. One guy asked why me and the rest of the police department was following and harassing him. He was very aggressive about it. I had to get the security guard at the bus transfer station to chase him off. My clothing is typically Jeans or common looking shorts and T shirt . Shoes are common tennis/Sport shoes . I live near a military installation where there a lot of people with short hair. I have earrings so the only reason I would be accused of being a cop is the Tactical looking packs I use . I might try the large version. Hopefully it will be big enough for everything I need to carry. I would also have to get the extension so I can carry it like a sling.

Not a fan when the zipper run across where the belt is connected. There would be strain on the zipper if you have heavy bag contents. It may damage the zipper or can accidentally open it. Maybe a stongger design if they put the third zipper after the belt connection. That would also makes the zipper more concealed. Also, I would prefer it if the bag is waterproof.

It's sad when "community standards" are double sided. There are countless videos here and on Facebook showing the tragedy in New Orleans - up close images of deceased bodies on the internet for anyone to see and they won't restrict the content of take them down. I agree that you have to pick your battles in this world. Some won't ever make sense and better not to give energy to.

i have a fanny pack that has about 7-8 years and it's a chinesium i bought at an ordinary store. because of the limited weight you can put into them fanny packs don't get that damaged. unless you abuse them, but that is true for everything in this world.

I like it. I have a bin full of holsters and it makes me sick to my stomach to see how much money I have wasted on them. I have some expensive holsters and over time they wear and don’t fit all seasons. This “fanny pack” is useful for all seasons and 1/2 the price of a decent holster. Not to mention I can unload my pockets of keys, cell, etc. I don’t care about what others think. I hope others do think I look like a dork or a sissy it just adds to the “grey man” persona. I don’t want to be pegged as a tactical guy. To each their own. Imho.

I’m still waiting for a company to make a waterproof/resistant version of something like this. I do a lot of fishing in waders where something like this would be perfect if waterproof. Would be easily accessible and not get in the way of my fishing vest (like a chest holster would) while keeping the ccw dry.

Great bag. Use it daily to carry a subcompact and it fits just fine. Only complaint is the waist strap loosens up with use.
Nobody carrying for self defense should be worried about a quick draw. If you can’t recognize danger until a split second before you need to use deadly force, you need to fix that anyway.
