  • This is a kit version of the WPL B24. Its older but I do like the color. Got lucky and found it for cheap so here it is all stock kit with flysky receiver and 30a esc from banggood and weighted wheels. I have done my free suspension mod and waterproofed electronics(check out my waterproof videos and more flex mod video). Have a great day and go RunThatRc!

    that's getting it pretty good, already wheel weighted, that much hop+tip is a little surprising.
    4-23, after 18 DAYS delay by customs in Chicago, the new C-14 kit finally arrived here. came with the newer tan gearbox, brass input bevel gears that went straight into the dual 130 siamese gearboxed C-24. with the JJRC axles and Fayee tires+rims its looking pretty beastly with 3/4" more width than the WPL axles+tires, electronics not loaded yet but soon! with the width and leverage it's already showing 2" worth of any wheel lift with other 3 still down, this before doing the 5 mm longer shock rods. can't wait to see what the $45 budget beast can really do (not counting electrics). nearly same width as MN-D90 with the Fayee wheels on it, D90 got 2 layer/wrap up front, C-14 has 1 (2 mm solder to rims) for being a lighter body. the JJRC axles quite a bit heavier than the WPL, the pull rod + shock mounts JUST fit on them.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your c24 is gonna be a beast! Yeah I do like the way the suspension works when u have weighted wheels. Maybe more weight? Seems to articulate better with weights. Yeah that climb is steeper than the camera shows. My 10th scale also tips at that spot.

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol that's what I'm aiming for, super budget beast! with 2 mm solder and stock WPL rims, 3 wide 3 deep for 9 turns, idk if it's heavier than the WPL metal weights or not. they definitely flex more with wheel weight, usually only do fronts because weight always loads rear on an incline anyway. keeping the nose down for traction to help pull up, and have steering. going downhill gotta CREEP, or FLY, or they can front flip like a Suzuki Samurai.... whoops!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@modelnutty6503 Haha yeah the wpl
      weights are heavier than my weights. I think I'm only around 27 to 32 grams a tire vs 65 grams I think for the wpl weights. It gives me some challenge vs knowing I'm planted with tons of unsprung weight. The new c34 metal edition comes with it so we will see how that performs.

    I burn my b36 electronics using 370 motor with metal transmission. Do you have any idea why this happens?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock electronics aren't that good. My B24zh electronics died on me while driving for a couple seconds. I just use a 30a with brake esc and my flysky transmitter. The control is better than RTR electronics.

      @modelnutty6503 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah it did, some of those rocks was pushing it pretty hard really.
      (tons of body plastic up high is tougher to keep upright lol)
      did you weight just the front wheels?
      had a "silly idea" other day, carefully slicing the inside tire beads off a set of WPL rims, to then carefully CA to the outsides of another set so the rim's tire beads are a healthy 1/8" further apart. the sidewalls wouldn't look so "pinched in" at the rims, and might gain 3/16" more track width but still look near stock (a little more deep dish sure).

      @@modelnutty6503 weighted front and back.

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe an oops to weight the back too, explained in other reply. sometimes more rear weight (just add torque!) will un-weight the front when trying to climb, kinda negating the pull+help front would have had. edit: too much weight can also be an enemy to the motor and run time, harder to pull it all uphill. some of Gabriel Silvas projects with tiny N20 motors climb outrageously steep because he keeps them light as possible with as much of the weight forward as possible too.... the guy's a darn wizard with these WPL things, one of them did 67-68 degrees up a plank?!!

      they vary depending on the site you purchase from. try and find a kit and start from there if you know or want to build a Rc. I say try not to spend more than 35 to 40 usd for one unless you can find a c24km version then those are worth the extra cash. unfortunately wpls site is where i know you can het it but theybare temporary closed due to some minor issue. hopefully we will see them back up and run soon!

    • @BobbyleonardII
      @BobbyleonardII 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RunThatRC Yeah I've heard the kit versions of WPL stuff comes with better components. Do you think it would need the better axels? or does the kit already come with the better axles on this one? And why is the c24km version a better model? It come with some aftermarket mods already I'm assuming? Did you do anything with the tires to soften them or were they already decently soft/grippy? Thanks!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BobbyleonardII km versions come with more upgrades than I used on my original C24 build. Its worth it in my opinion. All the metal goodies. The regular kit isn't bad but the the hex hub, dog bone and bushings will eventually wear out and need to be replaced unlike the KM that has ball bearings.

I glued the drive shafts to the input shafts because the splines stripped but wpl has since fixed that problem with set screws on the new rtrs. The new rtrs also come fully proportional which is great. That flex mod works great and also helps prolong the life of the leaf springs
