Another brilliant one...I think that I am going backwards! I have been on that island many times, lovely graves going a long way back. I love the way that you give the info about the camping equipment. Sounds very comfortable. Once again, thank you for a very entertaining video. Best Wishes David

I canoed here with my brother-in-law some years ago. We went north to south. One of our camps was on the island with the castle. The weather was pretty rough and I'm glad we paddled doubles. We came across Dalavich and the cafe there - definitely a shop for locals!! The return trip was "interesting" and our surfing skills improved no end. When we reached the narrow section we prayed to numerous gods and set off on a large ferry glide with waves breaking but arrived safely. Your next trip needs to be Loch Shiel starting at Glenfinnan and down to Loch Moidart - stunning.

Great to read your comment. I know the weather there can be changeable. We were lucky. You'll see in the next videos how glorious it turned out.
We also stopped at Dalavich. We found a nice shop with ice cream!

@divum That’s the shop, very odd people, then. Looking forward to next video.

At about 2:55, thanks for the brief history lesson on the Clan Campbell. It piqued my interest to look into the history of Scottish clans further. (That's what good videos do).
At 3:27, what do you reckon was the narrow passageway you were trying to go through? It looked like a dead-end dropoff to nowhere.
7:50 Lunch. Poached egg and bacon sandwich, a proper lunch.
9:54 Big clap of thunder. Are you guys going to be OK and be able to get off the water?
11:40 Inishail Island and its sandy beach. It's a two-day base camp that even has a hot shower.
Thanks for the tent and gear rundown. The cot was probably very comfortable.
Thanks for your time and effort in filming. ATB

Thanks for your timeline precise of the video.
I'm really delighted that you should be so attentive to the details.
As far as the narrow passageway is concerned, I'm not sure what it was! I presume that the wooden structures of the floors have long gone and perhaps it was a type of 'Priest Hole'- or escape route onto the roof?!! I'm just speculating.
      Thanks 👍🏻 🛶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸

I used to live in Newcastle and along with The Yorkshire Dale and Northumberland, Scotland is one of my favorite places. You captured it brilliantly and oh how I miss it :)

Inishail looks idyllic. You're right to respect the conditions as it did look a bit hairy when the wind piped up. Your tent looks like a glamping setup, no rough sleeping for you on this adventure😂😂👍👍

Lucky for us, that was the only rough weather. After that, it was Mediterranean all the way! I think I'm turning soft.....🛶🏕😄🛌

I think Andrew is being modest, the weather did roughen more than shown, with the boats trying to surf.......became a little "iffy" to film the worst, but gave us good speed!!

Beautiful scenery and that green island!! 😍 I've never been to Scotland, it was always on my list....
You peddled 80 km, that's far or not for one day? I've no idea, I'm riding my touring bike for 80 km, but that's easier than peddling I guess.
I also follow Harmen Hoek, he's a hiker and makes beautiful silent videos on TH-cam, his last was also about canoeing, it is highly recommended!

      Thanks for the recommendation.
      The 5 day trip is 80km total. On day 1: 15km, day 2: 20km, day 3: 13km day 4: 30km!!!! and day 5 2km!
We paddle at about 4kph so in total about 20 hours exercise 💪 😅 As always...thanks

Thanks Will. Canoeing is so much fun. Its also good physically and mentally. Nor does it directly pollute the environment. All good! Give it a go 🛶
