I’m not a newbie stamper but I still love to watch to learn some tricks and tips. The layering with the labels on there is a great idea. I ALWAYS forget the sizes.
Thanks Amy for your kind note and for your feedback. I really appreciate it. Oh, yes you should absolutely make a template. Or how about I send you mine. I made a few extras will mail it to you tomorrow. Feel better!! Hugs, Brandy
Hello Brandy, I am glade I found this is great TFS because I did a card class for Women’s Ministry Feb. 20th. It was fun we made two cards.😊 Aloha and Mahalo since I am from Hawaii.
First time I've watched your video. Totally impressed. Would like to receive a catalog and order the trimmer. Never made a card before, but after watching how step-by-step you demonstrate, I just may give it a try. 😊
Thank you, you are teaching card making very easy for me now and I love the beautiful things you are teaching to make so many new cards I didn't know what to do with them, thank you so much. Best Wishes to you always too
ditto on not a newbie I like to review tips etc when I haven't stamped for a while also handy when working with a newbie. Thanks for the refresher course
I just stumbled upon your video. The tips you gave for cutting card stock is so helpful. I’ve always tried eyeballing it before which is impossible to get completely even. I look forward to watching more of your beginning videos and others that you have on TH-cam. Thank you.
Thank you so much Brandy. Showing the measurements made a little clearer of how to layer ur cards. TYFS!!! Be blessed!!! Looking forward to other learning tutorials.
Love this Brandy! Sometimes, we just gotta go back to the basics- we get caught up in all these fancy folds- that I too, get lost on my mat measurements needed for my cards!♡
Thank you for this video. I have never cut card stock because I’ve always bought it. I’m new to card making…about 6 months. I love it! I hope it’s as easy for me to do.
This was just the video I was looking for when I started stamping! I just needed the basics! Unfortunately for me I was watching women in the UK and Im in the US and it took quite awhile to figure out why my measurements were off! 😁 Im excited about this series!
I'm soo new to card making and I've been practicing my card seem to come out under size 😩🤔 highly frustrating I have a scoring board and a guillotine but this no luck so I'm playing after Searching all day and evening I will finally learn what I'm doing wrong ❤
Hi Brandy. Thanks for the video. Quick question…what is the weight of the paper you’re using. I can only find 110 pound paper weight in colors white, cream brown & gray. What weight should you use for card bases? Thanks so much.
I am not a beginner but like others have said, it's always good to refresh! Like Amy, I too am going to make my labels for my layers. That will speed things a long because I too forget sizes!!
Thank you for this great video! Sometimes when I fold my card base, it won't be even on the side. I use the SU trimmer and scoring blade. What am I doing wrong?
You can stamp on the inside corner or add a strip of cardstock to the side or bottom. Check out some of my other videos and you'll get some ideas. PLUS, check back frequently for new card ideas where I often do show the inside of the cards.
Brandy , love this series, but yes I get mess up with 3/8. 1/4 3/4 why can't we just do 1/2 , 3 inch, 4 inch I will be watching this one over & over Thanks
Hi there. I just subscribed to your channel. I'm not a newbie card maker, but your explanation on how to cut card bases by dividing in half made so much sense. Duh, I don't know why I struggled with this before. And I made my own template for the layering so I can quickly see how to cut my layers, including using a 1/2 or more border if I want. Thanks for the tips. I'm sure I'll learn more as you work through this series.
Thank you Brandy. Am a senior card maker from UK and find my memory is often failing me. As our measurements are in metric and our normal A4 card is different size to your 81/2 x 11 inch card, find measureme to soooo confusing. Also confused because I have quite a bit of USA cardstock so find myself making lots of mistakes. Will copy your measurements and make myself some templates to keep from making so many mistakes. Back to basics is not just for newbies, some of us oldies find your basic videos really helpful as well. Thanks and regards from UK 🇬🇧
Hi Brandy, I watched your video on cutting and layering card stock. You stated, we could go to the bottom of the video for pdf for the layering measurements...not there, I even went to your blog. I would appreciate any help you could give me. I see I'm not the only one that can't find it. ❤
Glad i found you. Subscribing, too. Why do my cardstock when I cut them, they don’t come out smooth? It’s fuzzy. I am using Fiskar paper cutter. My white cardstock is 110 lb/300 gsm. Is it my paper cutter or my cardstock being thick? Your paper cutter has a feature to get a nice fold without creating a crease on the card? Pls advise. I am tuning in. Thanks
I've been making Stampin Up cards for years, but I always appreciate your tips and tricks. You have helped me become more proficient and using my supplies without waste or frustration! Thanks Brandy!!

Hello Brandy, I am glade I found this is great TFS because I did a card class for Women’s Ministry Feb. 20th. It was fun we made two cards.😊 Aloha and Mahalo since I am from Hawaii.
I love how you post for beginner card makers how to use the tools.
The brown off-set (3rd version) was my favorite. Interesting technique

First time I've watched your video. Totally impressed. Would like to receive a catalog and order the trimmer. Never made a card before, but after watching how step-by-step you demonstrate, I just may give it a try.

Great video. Being a newbie, I struggle in this area. Thank you.

thank you! You helped alot and explained it very simply.
Outstanding detailed instructions!!
I love your instructions brandy I always go to it thank you
TIP: reduce one step by SCORING first (if cutting first, it requires scoring two times). This will be a great intro series for new crafters!
Great Tip and will for sure share!! Thanks Mary

Thank you for starting this series. I would've loved to see a video like this when I first started making cards. All the terms were so confusing.

Great refresher!
Hi Brandy just caught your video, glad to be here
After decorating the front, what do you do with the inside. Great video 🥰

Even though I have been making cards since 1998 this was very helpful for me!!! Thanks!
Great tips. I made sample cuts too! It's great to see others using the same skills, it means I'm on the right visual track!
What would the measurements be for a 5 X 7? Do you ever make cards t his size.
Hi Brandy! Muncie, IN

BrandysCards does this paper trimmer not ship to Canada?
I'll have to rewatch on replay since I missed most of the live.
What brand is that card paper cutter your using?
Good video, very informative.
the paper trimmer is unavailable is it retired or just out of stock? Thank you for these tips.

Where do I find the PDF? Enjoyed the video!
