We drove out of Largs on the same day you arrived, but we are back up Wednesday. A trip up Loch Fyne all the way to Inveraray can be enjoyable and make certain you find the fish shop in Tarbert. You are good at dropping at dropping mid-mooring lines onto cleats and using a winch. If you are still in Largs, look at Dipper on F11 for our mooring system on finger pontoons. On to a hoop that we drop over the end cleat on the finger pontoon, we have a mid rope set so that we will not bump the bow on the walkway, whilst the other rope goes to a winch to pull the stern in. Re your Fair Head experience, I found the book Coastal Turmoil by Ken Endean, really useful to helping me understand, and sometimes predict, what is going on.
We are currently in Millport and it was a bumpy day today so that kept us occupied. We do like Tarbert. Thanks for the book tip. I shall have a look at it👍
Hi Murray. We are going to be in Millport for a while. We cannot afford Largs's daily rate 😄 If you pop round, give us a shout and we will put the kettle on.
We had hoped to do the Hebrides, but something has come up. Perhaps later in the year. For now we are in the Firth of Clyde which has a few hidden gems
Our mainsheet and traveller are mid cockpit so not as much pulling needed. It was changed from original version across transom by previous owner because better for racing.
I can see the advantages but we disliked the potential trip hazard and so avoided boats with a cockpit traveller. It also clutters the cockpit for lazing around like lounge lizards
Ah great sail. I don’t know why youtube chooses to send me notifications 9 hours after the video is up but all good things are worth waiting for. The boat looks like she handles very well. Most channels are watch is the Caribbean are mostly working on repairs on the hard rather than out sailing. I thought you were drinking tea with your biscuits not coffee however, after the four take I thought there might have been a smidgen of whiskey in with the coffee. Only joking. Wonderful video. Be well, be safe. 😊❤️⛵️🙏
Coffee gets drunk in port with dark chocolate, tea & biscuits are out at sea. Gaynor has been known to lace her coffee with Bailey's Irish Cream 😮😮 I am glad to say that the boat handles very well and we are really happy with how our sailing has gone this season. We feel that our boat handling has improved and we are really enjoying what we are doing. Sadly, we will be on the hard and in the yard in a few week's time but we will keep the video of that to a minimum because we want to be back out sailing again. We are planning for 2-3 weeks out, but we will try and keep out to one video if we can.
Well done ladies, it always good to have a plan Bravo, Charlie, Delta and of course Plan Foxtrot which is F #* well stay here. I use plan Foxtrot allot🏴☠️🍺
Wasn't it Glenarm that the dredger was in before ? Need to update binoculars too. Condensation had made 1 glass foggy last season obviously the nitrogen has leaked. Both lenses clear now.
It was Portrush on the north coast that had the dredger, but apparently Carrickfergus is getting a dredge over the summer so we will be happy to miss that. Having a dredger nearby is something we can do without. I find that a lot of optical equipment can fog up, but leaving them somewhere warm, even just in sunshine, often sorts them out.
Great video as usual. Horrible weather here in the South (England). Bring on summer! You said you didn't want to go further North, do you have plans or still making them, given weather....?
Thanks! ☺ It is blowing a gale up here too so we are in sheltering at the moment. We need to be back in Liverpool to take care of "stuff" and so there is no point in getting too far north as we need to start going south soon. After Liverpool, we will have to go along the Welsh coast as there is nowhere else to go from Liverpool (since the IoM is closed). If Ireland has opened up then we may cross the Irish Sea, if not then maybe Wales for a while... We are having to make it up as we go!
@@SailingYachtSaltyLass I’m leaving the Menai Straits on the 7th June for a 3 month trip up to Orkney so my professionally maintained mooring (between Menai Bridge and Beaumaris) will be available if you want to spend some time around Anglesey. Email me privately if interested eebygumcaptain@yahoo.com
OK gave up trying to understand what you are saying but you know what you do. and you enjoy. and we enjoy the actual boat stuff . and in new Hampshire and Maine we have grey and black bushy tailed tree people, cant spell ''squell ''. ............ they make big nest in tippy tree tops and sleep in winter , do come out and dig more nuts , acorns , i can spell ''acorn''
Is our accent that strong? 😄😄 The Grey squirrel is a pest in the UK - an introduced species that attacks and kills the native red squirrel. So if you see greys in an area where they are not supposed to be you report them and (I presume) Pest Control or a Forest Ranger kills them off
Prudence the boat penguin is very wise indeed 😊. Lovey vid . 😊👍🏻
Thank you (and Prudence agrees with you - modesty is not her strong point)

Maybe one day! If ever you are in the UK, get in touch. But it was a great sail. It was one of those that stay in your mind long afterwards.
Nice to see you in Largs this evening! Have to catch up another time, see you around. Murray

Where are you now? 🤣LOL Sail Safe Guys, Ant, Cid & the pooch crew.
Sheltering in Largs, Firth of Clyde. It is blowing a hooley up here. Actually, it is blowing a hooley everywhere in the UK today
Nice explanations of your journey - thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice one, as im sat here with the wind and rain lashing on the cabin top im thinking your probably getting a soaking as well :(
We have scuttled into a marina, the hatches are battened down and the heating is on.
Great vid , thanks :D fun to learn and helpfull too ...
Glad you enjoyed it! The Clyde is a great area to sail if you get the chance
Thanks ladies.. loved the outakes..

@@SailingYachtSaltyLass very true.
Sadly, longing opportunities seem few and far between at the moment
@@SailingYachtSaltyLass at least you have cockpit enclosure for the not so windy days at anchor/ dock

We agree! Plan Foxtrot is a good one to have 😄😄 - especially with today's weather!
Has Gaynor been raiding the rum locker again or did all those plans confuse her?🤣
It was the plans wot did it!!!
Nice one... but we didn't get any bacon sandwich... bummer.. 😉👍
Sorry! But we did have some bacon tonight if that helps 😆😆 Next week's episode features whisky!!!!
