Oh. My heart is heavy. I, too, was raised by drug addicts. I was passed around for payment. The autopsy stated she had an std. At ten. As a survivor, it has not, overall, been a beautiful life. Not for me. There are moments I am thankful to still be here but at 49, they do not outweigh the torture and nightmares and guilt and agony I still carry. I have battled prostitution and drug addiction. I have been institutionalized both in facilities and in my own mind.
If we do not share our stories, they die inside of us.
Thank you for sharing Victoria's story.
She did not make it out alive. I believe her to be in a better place, a safer place now.
I made it out alive but so much of it has not been living. God rest her soul.

Also don’t ignore warning signs just because a biological parent is involved. Mothers need to also be aware that even the father is a risk and vice versa. Too often they go unnoticed because everyone trusts them due to the biological relation. Not saying it’s as common as a step parent, but it’s not as rare as people think. Don’t ignore warning signs just because it’s another parent. It’s so important to talk to your child about keeping safe and what’s inappropriate, don’t be too vague that the message is useless either, and make sure you repeat this conversation because kids forget.

When you let someone into your life, and home, it's not only about pedophiles, many kids are abused and die at the hand of the 'new partner ' often left to look after kids while primary carer is at work, and are simply not capable. Don't underestimate the evil power of coercive control that comes after love-bombing.

I once sat in a courtroom in NM, the man before the judge had numerous charges of various sexual assaults on 14 young girls on school buses. The man was an aid on the buses here. The judge said, and I fking quote, "I'm postponing this case for two weeks. When you come back, I expect a plea agreement to have been met, because if I have to listen to 14 little girls tell me what you did, I am NOT going to be happy." Those girls were ready to have their day in court. They wanted him locked up. Instead, he got a plea deal and those girls got a lifetime of trauma and NO justice. Welcome to New Mexico.

I've never ever once had a male around me or my children other than their father, who is a great dad even though we didn't work out. I will never date or even have a single male or anyone else around my kids until theyre at least 18-20. I'm honestly very comfortable being single and don't have any desire to be in a relationship. It's too dangerous and not worth the risks.

  • @SunEater0
    @SunEater0 ปีที่แล้ว +401

The first ~10 minutes of the video made my heart sink. This was the exact situation I went through when I was 15-17; My mom started dating one of her coworkers, and from the very moment I first met him he started treating me like he was dating both my mother AND me. The first thing he did when we were introduced was call me cute, give me an uncomfortably long hug, and put his jacket on me (it was a cold day, and I already had my own jacket, but my mom didn’t- why not give it to her instead?). That was the beginning of 2.5 years of sexual abuse, eventually turning into him drugging and assaulting me. Now, five years later, I’m realizing that he groomed my mom and me. I told her almost every day for the entire 2.5 years he was around that he made me uncomfortable, and that he would inappropriately touch me literally nonstop. He begged me to be intimate with him daily, saying I could put a blanket over him so I didn’t have to look at him. He even started saying he’d “dress like a woman for me” because he thought it would make me find him attractive. I can’t even count the amount of times I had to threaten him with ice picks, hatchets, and anything else I could get ahold of to stay away from me because he’d get high and come after me. I had to keep my door locked at night because he kept trying to come into my room when he thought I was asleep. He noticed, and one day got angry enough at me refusing to kiss/sleep with him he set my house on fire… Right next to my bedroom. I almost couldn’t get out of the room because he did something to the lock that made it really hard to open the door. We lost everything because of him; our home, our mental health, and almost the pets that we have cherished for 12+ years. My mom and I are very different people after everything he did to us, and neither of us will ever be the same. I’m reclusive, untrusting, and paranoid, and my mom is aggressively judgmental, angry, and much more anxious than she used to be. I can’t be comfortable in a room if the door is open, I sleep with multiple weapons within arms reach, and I can’t do simple things like cook or wash dishes if anyone is home because he used to watch me do so and j**k off. If someone stands behind me, I become so paranoid and scared I get physically sick; I’ll start sweating and feel like I’m about to throw up. I can’t go out in public anymore, especially not alone. I haven’t left my home by myself in four years, and I stay hidden in my home/bedroom for months at a time. People like this do not deserve to live. I’m not sorry for saying that- they truly deserve to be put down like the disgusting animals they are. My attacker got away with everything (with no more punishment than being yelled at ONCE) and way too many others can say the same. It’s just… wrong. So, so wrong.
Edit: I’m sorry this is so long/jumbled. My mental state is… not good. It’s hard to think clearly so please forgive the lack of structure.

Police failed to properly apprehend Fabian a long time ago, before he ever met Michelle... seems to happen an awful lot... but there is no transparency regarding how often this happens or stats regarding what type of people tend to get off due to incorrect police procedure and paperwork. I mean the point of trying to get people onto the child sex offender register, is because police are supposed to be able to consistently check that they are not living with children. We BOTH choose the kids come 1st over ourselves every time! &Even if the other 1 wasn't there to vote or give their answer, we KNOW exactly what they'd choose. Example being there's a life threatening situation like a crash or 🏠 on 🔥 &time is running out & may not be able to save everyone. We'd choose the kids 1st over the spouse.
So, I know if I ever dated anyone else, they might have a problem w\the fact that they won't come 1st in my life or my priorities.
Also, I grew up in VERY religious environments & they 🧠 wash u & condition u to believe the man of the household is more important than anyone else &he should come b4 your kids priority wise. Also, that the husband should prioritize the wife over the kids, just NEVER over himself. I always got the impression as a child being taught this, the Geez those guys sure have a puffed up view of themselves & want ppl fawning at their feet peeing themselves in their excitement to serve their master! 🤢 & This is something my hubby &I talked about too! Kids come 1st. My grandpa who was a preacher tried to explain that it's imperative I submit to my hubby & place him far above my kids & then trust that HE wld prioritize the kids too. I asked about what if he doesn't &he said I had to go along w\it anyways bc he's the head of the 🏠 hold! Ummm NO f*ck that!

Hopping on top comment to say ‼️There is no excuse. These parents who allow their children to be abused and who force their children to live in a house with a partner who is showing clear red flags are just as much monsters as a actual predators themselves are. Period. End of story. In fact I would argue these parents are even worse because they have an obligation and a duty to protect and believe their children no matter what and they are failing their children and ignoring clear violations of their children's boundaries. The only way parents will take this seriously is when they start being equally charged. It doesn't matter if they never actually abuse their child they allowed the abuse to happen they forced their child to live with an abuser they deserve the exact same punishment. Something tells me parents will suddenly start looking out more and being more careful on who they allowed the children's lives if they're going to go down for the behavior too.

As a victim of sa by a babysitter when I myself was ages 5-8. He was also a close family friend, our families spent Thanksgiving together etc. Not only did nothing happen to him but my mom made me feel like I was to blame because it happened to my younger brother at the same time. Because of that I never left my kids with a sitter ever. EVER. Both of my parents passed away from 2 different cancers 22 and 14 years ago and my dad would have been the only person I would trust but since he wasn't here I stayed with my kids 24/7. One of the first impressions I had when I first saw one of the more "infamous" widely spread photos of Victoria from the case when was public was that of disbelief. The way she was "heavily" made up made her look in her early twenties from photos showing from the neck up - I really had a hard time initially believing she was a kid until I dug in deeper into the case itself. What I found disgusted me to the point of wanting to commit justifiable homicide, pedos and serial killers are just the worst pieces of shit on the planet.

I agree 100%. And none of this is by accident. Everything is the way it is by design. The very worst ultra wealthy criminals on the planet are those that control the mainstream media and run the system we all live under. It is actually amazing that anyone went out of their way to find the truth in this case.

I think it's often lost in these complex cases where there is a lot of shock and disgust, that a large part of this narrative was ultimately not true and was coerced by police and sensationalized by the media to increase the shock and awe of it. Great job covering the nuance in the details and giving Victoria a voice in what actually happened to her. Her memory doesnt deserve to be conflated with the spectacle. It's only justice if it actually represents the truth. Her short life was filled with unimaginable abuse, but she didnt die at the hands of her mother. Her mother is ultimately responsible for putting her daughter in danger, but her role is what it was and not what it wasnt. The memories she had of her own mother shouldn't be switched with our emotional assumptions. Her mom was an addict who didnt protect or prioritize her child, but she didnt have the intention to kill her baby, and the narrative was altered to the public's bloodlust in the end. I'm glad that ultimately the real truth came out. (To me, it's comparable to satanic panic and pizzagate- type conspiracy theories which allege extreme things with no evidence, while there are real things going on that dont get the attention they deserve because it's looked past for not being as egregious or sensational.) This is the reason you, dreading, are in the top of the field of true crime reporting. The diligence and commitment to the whole truth, and humanizing victims and even their perpetrators, is commendable and appreciated.

If the media can't make any story about anyone or anything the worst thing, the worst person then they don't get people to rush to their channel. The story should always be about the victims and keeping it respectful. Then wait for more information. The fact that a little girl was killed and the shock that puts on families and especially small children that might be watching or hear should be where the tact and sensitivity should matter. The media is evil and the lie or exaggeration of everything that happens is awful. I really do hate the media after my job they are mean and pushy and no better than the detectives that push people. They ruin people's lives.

Pizzagate-type conspiracy theories that allege extreme things with no evidence? I see your point, but you must not know much about the depth that pizzagate goes and the absolutely damning and obvious evidence backing many (not all) claims made within.
It seems to me as a person Who appreciates a "truth" like you, that you should look within if you're still questioning what's right in front of you.
