    I would like to learn this technique ....I was taking shotokan self defense and the last class I took was how to defend yourself if someone comes at you with a knife....ironically, the very next day a crazy lady who had stopped taking her medications stabbed me from behind and punctured my lung with a big Rambo knife on the bus for absolutely no reason. They caught her and she went to a mental hospital for 7 years.

    I tried it with a recently formed group. When they heard of the concept, they laughed and told me "it doesn't work". They humored me anyway.
    After we try it, "it works".

      @DanielRundkvist 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Their egos aren't ready yet. If they had tried it, they would know. Don't let that discourage you though. Get a new group. :)

      Daniel Satari
      They're fine with the concept now. It just took them that little bit of blind faith to try it and see what happens. I doubt they're gonna laugh the next time someone wants to try something completely foreign to them.

      Learn a real martial art instead, try jiu jitsu

      @@kevinloughran4387 why

    • @coresystemacombatives
      @coresystemacombatives 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinloughran4387 Systema is a combat system, jiu jitsu is an art; two complete different things. A combat system teaches you how to deal with fire arms (disarm or retention), knife (offensive or defensive), baton/stick or just hand-to-hand; an art doesn't. Do not compare them as they're totally different in nature. The confusion sits where most people put any fighting discipline under the "Art" umbrella; in reality you can split them all in three groups: Combat, Art and Sport. Best wishes in your art journey Kevin.

      It's the system of getting through life.

    • @tropickman
      @tropickman 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Вадим Артемов Sistema stands for "Hand combat system of Alexei Kadochnikov".
      It was popularly known as "Sistema Kadochnikova" (Kadochnikov's system of hand combat) and later just as "Sistema", after he passed away.
      Kadochnikov, who I believe has passed away, got a group of enthusiasts in early 90'ties to develop a combat system that maximizes the lethality and durability of a human body, by applying knowledge from human anatomy, mathematics, physics, mechanics.
      Ryabko is not the person who started it; but was one of the early contributors.
