I got the word “Leaves” and was thinking of all these nature based powers until my sister brought up how I just tend to remove myself from social situations without telling anyone so now my character just has the ability to leave any situation. Awkward family reunion? Leaves. About to get decked? Leaves. Prison? Leaves. My epithet oc is now fun af.

My niece (age 8) came up with a fun character. Random word choices were "Chicken, Light, Topiary" She looked at them, thinking really hard (possibly trying to think if she knew what Topiary means.) Then confidently chose light. I asked what she would do with it. She thought, then ran off. Initially I thought she got bored as children sometimes do. But she came back 10 minutes later with most of a Vampire halloween costume on, and the remote for the LED light strip we have around the room. "Fear me mortals! For I EVILyn have come to bring darkness!" *presses button on the remote... the lights turn green.* "Oops, wrong button." *presses another, lights off* So one of her powers now has the effect that she attempts to make it dark by stealing the light from a room. But on a failure, the light still changes colors. No idea when any of this will be used, but it was funny. And if you've never heard a tiny child attempt a sinister villain voice, I highly recommend it!

I'm rewatching this after I finished Prison of Plastic. Seriously, buy the book, I have zero regrets, and everything about it is perfect. I reccomend getting the book off Soundbooth Theatre, a lot of jokes wouldn't have hit as hard in text, and you really feel the characters emotions in the scenes because of the fantastic voice acting. You guys are incredible.
I just finished reading the book and thought it was amazing. I also have to say that this book was written in a way that really reinforces that it will never be animated. While many of the scenes would totally work in the old series animation, a lot of them are much more complicated and would require a much more detailed amount of art with many more one-time use images.
yeah, (not really a spoiler since it's on the cover but just to be safe) each character has both normal and transformed variants, and giovanni also has his casual outfit in prologue b, and lori has 3 outfits too, and god that would be so many sprites

Warning: vague spoilers I'm not sure i understand jello's comment about Molly being useless in fights. After hearing what she can do in this book, she seems really powerful defensively. She could already dumb down pain, and now it seems like she'd be really good at unsummoning things and removing effects. She's shown to just be completely immune to anything Lorelei could do, so could it be extended to other epithets? If she used bear paw on Beefton, would he just instantly turn back into a dream instantly? could Molly simplify a pair of eraser cuffs into regular cuffs? could Molly simplify Zora's time bullets into regular bullets before they could affect her? is Molly just immune to epithets?????? Maybe Lorelei's creations are just made of wet paper, but I still think Molly wouldn't be useless in a fight. also, they won't animate more epithet erased.
I believe she TRIED to unsummon Beefton, but he was too strong. So there’s a limit there. But hey, maybe if she had used Bear Paw, it would’ve been strong enough to do it! …Wait, how is Beefton apparently stronger than Graham when it commons to resisting Molly’s epithet??? Maybe Lorelei’s dream bubble summons are just more susceptible to Dumb, or something… Hm.

I think at one point in prologue C it mentions that Lorelei's stuff is made from nothing, which could be different from how we know sylvie makes stuff from dreams, and gio/vince seems to make stuff from his sweat. every epithet could be different.

Yeah, now that you mention it. If Molly really trains her Epithet HARD like Zora did. It could be one of the most powerful epithets in the world just by the fact that it can nullify every other epithet there is. Bliss Ocean would be DROOLING over that kinda power. If Kaleidoscope Eyes ever get news of Molly's power, I believe there's a non-zero chance where they will try to use the epithet on a world-scale so everybody's epithet is dumbed down to nothing (that is if the necklace plan fails which it kinda did)
Molly can’t I summon or negate real objects, it only works on Lori because the idea of her epithet is that it creates fake things and extrapolates on them, so simplifying them turns them to nothing
I finished the Audiobook early Saturday morning. It was AMAZING. I really enjoy your narration style, and the cast was awesome. Currently downloading the PDF so I can look at all of the pretty pictures. Keep up the good work when you can, but take a break, and don't forget to eat food!
I got the book last week and I have to say its so good and I don't mean this in a bad way, but I really like the switch to novel format because the prose is so enjoyable that it personally outweighs the joy of seeing it animated

Just finished the audiobook last night and if anyone still hasnt gotten it yet. You owe it to yourself to do so. Phenominal across the board. Jello thank you so much for what was hands down, the highlight of my vacation. It made me laugh when everything around me seemed to go wrong. I really needed that. You are so talented, the way you weave the story through your word choice and descriptions really made everything stand out compared to other audiobooks Id listened to recently. Best wishes and I hope you can continue this amazing series. :)
Edit because I realized I added more detailed spoilers. Adding space for a read more. That was my first instinct when he said all the connections were cut within a minute of each other. I figured the guards realized they helped with the jailbreak and executed them for it.
Random thought: Molly's epithet is like the spy in Stratego. Not SUPER useful in general, but a very specific counter to some of the most powerful epithets in existence. P.S. They will never animate more Epithet Erased.
Bit late, but just finished the audiobook, absolutely fantastic and put words to a very specific anxiety I didn’t know other people shared, so that’s good. Like, good that people can talk about it.
After backing EE:PoP on kickstarter a year and a half ago, I completely forgot that I had paid for most of the book-related awards. So even though I'm getting the alpha version of the physical book when Jello is done being tortured through that publishing house, I still plan on buying the professionally published book when that releases next year. I've dropped $60 on a Sonic Comic before, I'd be willing to pay the $50 (or more) if the hard cover required that. Paying as much as I can feels like the best solution to make this series/project come out in full (eventually). I'm glad that it seems it won't come to that, but I'm willing to do the bare minimum needed to help push this project along since I'm an "adult" with "money". The humor in the original series never failed to put a smile on my face, and I love so many of the characters that I just have to see how their stories unfold (plus all the secondary content like Anime campaign and the TTRPG book are some exciting bonus stuff that I'm glad I helped hit for stretch goals).

The popularity of the first anime adaptation did a really good job of drawing public attention. But, yeah, at the same time, people have a lot of imagery embedded in it, and the crew, especially Jello, is always going to say, "Oh, hey, I'm not going to animate it. Bye." Probably not because they don't know. I think it's like autopsy. Exciting, but not fulfilled(somehow). Another story that has been erased. It's great news for me that quite a few animators have jumped into big projects recently in 2020-2023, but on the other hand "money", this sad fact hurts me so much...

don't know if you've found an answer since then but poking around it seems that despite the deal being made the month this stream went up, the copies were pushed back by the publisher to september-october, only to then further be pushed back to november (with a worldwide release in march). so the answer is "maybe in a month there will be one! hopefully!"
The original game system was “Anime Campaign”, which you can online if you look, but they’re making a new version that they intend to release commercially at one point
Eh, i'll always secretly hoping for more epithet erased animated series. I know it's obtuse of me, but it really really works! There is something really endearing and hoplessly charming about it. And sadly, even if the book is able to explore way more charachters and plotlines ( i bought prison of plastic btw and fricking LOVED IT ) it doesn't quite captures the manic and erratic energy of the series that makes (for me at least) really special. The book somehow grounds this absurdness, makes this world a bit more real and takes , as a consequence, a bit of the fun out of it. That said, i know that it is incredibly stress inducing for Jello to make it, i understand it perfectly, and maybe even if he somehow magically decided to do it right now it might not even work as well as season 1. So, Jello, i hope that in the future, with a bit more budget, time etc... you could do an animated series without wanting to blow your brains out. Please keep it in the back of your head for the future because that would turn out pretty great, a shining beacon of creativity in a sea of family guy rip-offs and big mouth new seasons. In the meantime, i'll keep buying the books because prison of plastic was pretty fucking great. Hope this reches you Jello, keep up the good work

The popularity of the first anime adaptation did a really good job of drawing public attention.
But, yeah, at the same time, people have a lot of imagery embedded in it, and the crew, especially Jello, is always going to say, "Oh, hey, I'm not going to animate it. Bye."
Probably not because they don't know. I think it's like autopsy. Exciting, but not fulfilled(somehow). Another story that has been erased.

Is there a hardcover copy of Prison of Plastic? Ive searched online but found nothing despite it being said there was going to be one
don't know if you've found an answer since then but poking around it seems that despite the deal being made the month this stream went up, the copies were pushed back by the publisher to september-october, only to then further be pushed back to november (with a worldwide release in march). so the answer is "maybe in a month there will be one! hopefully!"

Eh, i'll always secretly hoping for more epithet erased animated series. I know it's obtuse of me, but it really really works! There is something really endearing and hoplessly charming about it. And sadly, even if the book is able to explore way more charachters and plotlines ( i bought prison of plastic btw and fricking LOVED IT ) it doesn't quite captures the manic and erratic energy of the series that makes (for me at least) really special. The book somehow grounds this absurdness, makes this world a bit more real and takes , as a consequence, a bit of the fun out of it.
That said, i know that it is incredibly stress inducing for Jello to make it, i understand it perfectly, and maybe even if he somehow magically decided to do it right now it might not even work as well as season 1.
So, Jello, i hope that in the future, with a bit more budget, time etc... you could do an animated series without wanting to blow your brains out. Please keep it in the back of your head for the future because that would turn out pretty great, a shining beacon of creativity in a sea of family guy rip-offs and big mouth new seasons.
In the meantime, i'll keep buying the books because prison of plastic was pretty fucking great.
