- We just saw if you can beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land without jumping, but now it's time to bring that challenge to the post game as we repair Leongar's soul in the isolated isles: Forgo Dreams.

Lol, you could turn this into a third challenge like you did with the Cat Shines in Bowser's Fury. What's the least amount of jumps required to collect all Leon Souls?

how many jumps does it take to collect all energy spheres in kirby's return to dreamland?
Considering Morpho Knight Sword can in fact expedite this process, you can probably get the number down pretty low.
My current number is 9 jumps (this is assuming you go through Forgo Horns with all soul pieces the first try through), with 2 jumps in Forgo Park (getting the light bulb up the retracting steps), 5 jumps off the boat in Forgo Horns (three for over Gordo Bars, once for the falling platforms, and once to disembark the boat at the end), and two in Forgo Zone (getting the Ring Mouth up the collapsing steps to the hole, though I think you might be able to cheese that one with the Mouthful Mode glitch by calling it near the hole). It's great that you can do this without having any jumps related to things apart from Mouthful Mode (Morpho Knight Sword helps a lot).
5:41 I'm a little disappointed that you didn't show more of this boating section because trying to navigate it without jumping requires very specific use of damage boosting with the boats hitbox being surprisingly finicky and tends to bounce off the Gordo Bars rather than going through them
Damage boosting, aka just ramming through it. it isn't really rocket science. :V

Are you SURE Needle doesn't help with that ladder? Aerial Needle gives a surprising amount of forward momentum.
I think the problem here is that after getting to the other ladder, Needle then has no ability to traverse the rest of the level. Getting to the other ladder doesn’t really help if it can’t progress any farther then that, and there aren’t any other useful abilities to swap it with before it gets stuck again.
'Don't fight Forgo Dedede with Ice'
You're only saying that because you didn't upgrade it into Blizzard Ice aka the only Copy Ability other than Gigant Sword that can make you completely immune to damage when you press the guard button.
Nope normal ice does that too
Apparently he doesn't know the true power of Ice because it is OP (not as much as the main four OP abilities but still very OP)
Does this mean you could technically beat certain bosses with only guarding?

5:47 Ice is a really strong ability for boss fights. The damage dealt by fully freezing stuff is extremely high, and the block animation is completely invincible to everything except standing in lava. When it came to doing the optional Waddle Dee rescues on boss fights, Ice was always my pick for the "no damage" missions. Very easy on all boss fights, though a bit slow on particularly aggressive and/or mobile bosses.
I was wondering if this level would warrant use of the new Hammer super jump glitch that's been found, but I suppose not! Then again, the glitch would cost 2-3 jumps to use, depending on how the semantics worked out, so there'd have to be a REALLY bad section in there to warrant use
If you can get height then yeah it's either one Hover or Two depending on how you want to count it

*You can beat Forgo Horns without jumping OR exiting the boat*
Grabbing the piece of Leon's Soul at the end gives you a checkpoint, and upon dying with this checkpoint you respawn right in the room, on *LAND.*
Even with a second player triggering the fire enemy, they cannot hit you, *BUT* if you time and space a boost perfectly and then hold down, you can get hit by the spike bar before the end of the section to die and respawn at the new checkpoint. (I recommend getting your health low prior to reduce the amount of times you need to get hit)
This does *NOT* save the three pieces of Leon's Soul after respawning (not certain on this since my save file is 100% though I'm fairly confident) but it DOES skip exiting the boat altogether. I only see one other person in this comment section suggesting this, but I can confirm it works, though it's more precise than I expected since the boat loves to bounce off the spikes.
I feel like the Ultimate cup Z would actually be a pretty interesting mini challenge for no jump.
Not really. Almost every attack can be dodged out of, so there's really only 1 single attack you need to watch for; very feasible to just tank that attack if sword can't get the necessary height.
(also not sure if morpho knight's special dodge could just outright dodge through regardless)
Just did it, not too interesting, the hammer just kills most of them before they can do anything, the only things I thought would be difficult were the big swing from final boss and it’s phase 2 but turns out you dodge past the swing and the hammer swing reaches phase two with no problem (I will say it did take me two tries for the final boss)
@@iaboth4727 The only issue is the meteor dash in phase 2 which you've to rising slash-climb the rocks, then do an additional well-timed rising slash with sword to actually avoid damage, but yeah, it's still perfectly possible to just tank those hits and quickly finish off the boss before it can do that move again.

I don’t think that “jumping” out of a boat should count. You classified a jump as the move jump/hover, but when you jump out of a boat, it says “toward land.” Technically not a jump.

I don't even count the boat dismount as a jump. The game doesn't call it that, and someone else who did this challenge for the main game doesn't count it either, so i'd say the challenge for the post game is a "yes".

That ladder spot is actually possible with sword, you just need to aim your spin slash towards the wall. Speed boost might also be necessary
I attempted this myself and although I probably missed a couple of souls pieces myself there are definitely some that you missed I finished with a bit over 270 pieces.
Also 7:17 you made this way more complicated than it needed to be. Sword can actually get past the ladder, you just mid air attack at the right time and you’ll grab the ladder, got it after a couple tries.
9:36 there is a different solution that to use fire. There is a spot with a fire enemy and needle enemy near each other, if you knock the fire enemy a bit you can inhale both at the same time and initiate a copy ability mix, I got sword on my first attempt of that and it made the following section much easier.

To me ice and bomb are the best for me in bosses, I wound why ice isn't recommended for Phantom dedede when it worked well for me in the regular king dedede fight. 🤔
I don't know, for me it just did so little damage. Granted I hadn't upgraded it at all so maybe that was why.
@@CMeeCraftGaming it's a patient game with ice and you have to know the bosses patterns to make your shield very affective.
The phantom battles are generally harder to do; enemies have different attacks, and are often faster than the regular battles. It'll probably be harder to get Ice's freeze effect against those battles.
All phantom bosses are easy once you master the dodge timings. Ice is only good if you can't dodge to save your life.
@@sinteleon they sure are now I'm able to fight everything with homing bomb but for ice you need good reaction time to block and learn distance use the power to its max limit.

For the part that Sword can’t clear, do the “recipe for throwing yourself off the cliff” thing, but DON’T do areal slashes. See if that works.

He does realize that nowhere in the game does it say that you’re jumping when you dismount the boat Meaning that you’re not technically jumping and it doesn’t count
Big brain moment
Nowhere in the game calls 90% of the jumps you do jumps. Also, dismount isn't even triggered by jumping, it's triggered by moving after jumping. You basically cannot trigger dismount without jumping, period.
5:43 The info card on the right corner says "Towards land" not "Jump" or "Hover" so the boats arent jumps ;)
Yes.... too bad it's not the jump button that triggers the dismount, it's the movement AFTER jump that triggers the dismount.
You can jump all day and never trigger the Towards land to complete as long as you never press movment buttons, you can press movement after letting go of the jump button (and you're still in the air) and have it complete.

Hey, you should go back and do the Dedede Tour of Triple Deluxe. Maybe the game will redeem itself, like with Meta Knightmare Returns in Robobot.
I mean, technically dismounting a boat is called “towards land” so I think it’s only half a jump, so it’s still not possible, but it requires half a jump (whatever that is) instead of 1 jump.
Sample didn’t count it as a jump because it doesn’t say jump, so this dude is just being hard on himself :p

1. You are forced to do it to progress and you can't even try to go against it
2. The game calls it "Onto land"

I'd argue that, since it's mote if the only way to get off the boat. You "jumping" there doesn't necessarily count. Otherwise the game is soft locked in a sense
I still don't count getting off the boat as a jump my dude so overall this was very successful

I don’t think the boat should count as a jump because it’s dumb that the game doesn’t let you spit it out. If it did the hop you get from would be enough to get onto land.

No, even if waddle dee could reach it he would just grab and it nothing will happen, Kirby needs to get to it for it to actually activate. And also waddle see gets taped to the boat when you use it and also can’t get off without jumping

I don’t count dismounting as a jump. If you had to beat BOTW without jumping then climbing is impossible, which might make the game impossible.
BotW no jump is impossible anyways, you need to jump to be able to deal the final blow to Pig Ganon

Most boat sections have walls or things you need to boost into to destroy and ice can’t do that

this time, instead of banning any use of the a button outside of menus, only ban bluster sword, the normal jump, and the normal hover. anything that isn't one of these 3 things is allowed. special jumps like ninja's wall jump and special hovers like beetle's hover wing are not counted as jumps since they have distinct names
@@teamawesomeness7137 I would ban hovers and wall jumps because by world 4 with both bluster whip and bluster hammer can get through most levels without jumping, I am just not to sure about the last level of world 3

During the Ring/Boat segment in Forgo Horns, you said that you jumped off the boat, yet the prompt clearly said "Toward Land."
Going off a boat isnt jumping its called towards land and that move is allowed
