BH and that1guy do jam with eachother...he opened for BH at a concert i saw last year, and they had a 15-20 minute long jam session...awesomest thing ever lol
Mike (That1Guy) came to Ypsilanti last weekend for our Jamboree. I was helping out with security and cash collection. I picked him up from the hotel the next day and took him to the airport. He's a super cool guy that is really down to Earth. It's amazing he packed everything up into three massive suitcases and a couple bags for the control units. Safe travels Mike! I hope we can have you back again next year.
@FluffyLizards more accurately, he starts playing the familiar melody of the song at that point--before that point, he's building the song up with his looping pedals.
I saw him live this past Friday and fell in love with his work. I was front row and even though the bass nearly killed me, I enjoyed it more than any performance I've ever experienced. This song really caught me off guard.
I saw him last night in Saint John, NB, Canada. It was the best thing I ever saw live. I got a photo of he myself and my friend.....AND he signed one of his shirts for me!! Very down to earth guy, very approachable. LOVED HIM!!
"Are you hearing this?" "Yeah, it's fucking amazing!" "I can't believe what's happening right now!" "I know, this is like the coolest thing ever!" "I wish the music was louder so I could hear it over your voice!" "I feel exactly the same way!" ".... So shut the fuck up!"
I saw him open for Kansas, in Kansas, and several festival dates later that year. Amazing. I'd spring for a ticket anytime. Brilliantly talented dude, That1Guy.
I opened for him nearly 10 years ago at Twice Told Coffee House in Louisville, Kentucky. He performed a different version of this unique cover. He is a really cool guy, and he signed my copy of Songs in the Key of Beotch.
I was fortunate enough to catch Mike in 2005 and 2006 at the Edinburgh festival. He's such a nice guy, we paid for one show and he put us on the guest list for another 4!
@epsilon127 at the show I saw, one of our fellow city dwellers stole his bow. A brave few went and took it back from him. EPIC!! I really hope he doesn't hold it against us as a city though. I want to see him again!
wow.. this dude is amaaazing!!!! he is like a One-man -band run amuck.. but in a good way. Love the manipulations of the saw--- very creative. He is doing something really different- and I applaud him for that .
@OceanMinded1024 I talked to him before and after the show in Philly 3/5/11 and he had a clear head and mind. Dont even think he had any drinks. HE's a smart man. This whole get up was partially inspired from when he played the upright bass when he was younger... Genious i tell ya, genious!
@BLACKNO23 He's now got 5 Cd's: Let's Hear That 1 Guy, Songs in the Key of Beotch, The Moon Is Disgusting, Mustaches Remix EP, and just released, Packs a Wallop! Saw him last night 3/5/11 in Philadelphia. We asked for it, and he brought it! Through 1 AM! But ya, he gave me Packs a Wallop for free in trade for the pictures i shot on stage for him... Guess I should go and upload/edit them now... Dont wanna make my man Mike wait, he'll come at me with that saw of is... AHH THAT 1 GUY WITH A SAW!!!!
There once was a musical hobo Who strung four strings on his oboe. Said he, "With these strings, This thing really sings! I both blow and bow on my oboe. no offence! Iike the music very much!
a bow! is he going to play the violin? -12 seconds later- nope, it's an electric saw. A FUCKING ELECTRIC SAW. ...well, it explains all the broken bow hairs.
HAHAHA this guy is in my area. My dad told me he saw him in providence and alwaystried to describe what the instument looked like but then he foun him on youtube. I don't here somewhere over the rainbow though?
He's touring now and actually never stops. The weirdest and coolest show you can see for ten bucks. Seen him five times so far
smoked a bowl listening to him play .,... incredible
What haven't you smoked a bowl to?
I also saw him with Bucketbhead, soooooo trippy!
Me too it was amazing show I’ll never forget

This guy is a real artist. So rare.

You're a grown man, you should know better.
Genuine brilliance

@filmguru welcome to Vancouver, the bane of my existance, people talking at shows. it is truly maddening.
i love how casually he just plugs in a saw.
I opened for him nearly 10 years ago at Twice Told Coffee House in Louisville, Kentucky. He performed a different version of this unique cover. He is a really cool guy, and he signed my copy of Songs in the Key of Beotch.
stuff like this is inspirational.
Been a while. Had a dream and had to come find this again
Yup. He does this at the beginning of the shows. Kinda like his introduction/warm up jam. ;D
I was fortunate enough to catch Mike in 2005 and 2006 at the Edinburgh festival. He's such a nice guy, we paid for one show and he put us on the guest list for another 4!
Part sculptor, part musician, part technician, part innovator, part zen and part WOW!
I have seen him live. He's really awesome. I'm gunna see him live again this year
@epsilon127 at the show I saw, one of our fellow city dwellers stole his bow. A brave few went and took it back from him. EPIC!! I really hope he doesn't hold it against us as a city though. I want to see him again!
how can you not like this
I have seen That One Guy and hung out with him At Astroworld in Houston!! Amazing artist!!!
All i can say is WOW. My mind has sufficiently been blown for a good long while.
I got to see him live in Tulsa at the Cains with Buckethead. Pretty awesome. He is much better live in person with a big sound system.
what is this....i dont even...im seriously about to cry from amazement.
This guy is a f^&king wizard!
yeah that show was awesome
wow.. this dude is amaaazing!!!! he is like a One-man -band run amuck.. but in a good way. Love the manipulations of the saw--- very creative. He is doing something
really different- and I applaud him for that .
The talent is SO real. WOW 1 Guy.
Wonderful!
Can. Not. Like. This. Enough. Seriously, the guy is making some sweet music, and all they wanna do is chat&"mingle"... >_
its scary but amazing at the same time! who knew you could produce something like this with house hold supplies? It is truly amazing!
That 1 Guy is Somewhere Over the Rainbow, real high :D
Best version of this song. (Y)
Thank you so much for uploading this. You have some great footage on your channel! Captures exactly what it's like to see him live.
All I can say is OMG wow. This man really does whatever he wants with sound. Also, electric saw and saw holster FTW.
I shall be your apprentice and you shall teach me your ways, obi wan kanobi....
That One Guy and this Other Guy. He didn't take me up on the offer either
God damn that's some kind of awesome.
@OceanMinded1024 I talked to him before and after the show in Philly 3/5/11 and he had a clear head and mind. Dont even think he had any drinks. HE's a smart man. This whole get up was partially inspired from when he played the upright bass when he was younger... Genious i tell ya, genious!
hes incredible
This is eerily beautiful
pure awesome
wow, very cool!
wow! ....just wow!
This is.... haunting...
oh ok..im going to see him tomorrow in Dallas
@dreampepper I found one at a thrift cd shop called "songs in the key of beotch" which is amazing
Both the sound and the way he plays it reminds me of a theremin.
sei il migliore!

@TheCuboOne I think those things are just to hold the saw in place actually, since his other hand he uses on the arch.
My mind just exploded
He has 2 out as far as I know. Though there might be more since I last checked.
First time I saw him was with Buckethead...and to answer the guy it's The Magic Pipe...
Finest sawmanship I've seen outside of Neutral Milk Hotel.
that rarely happens, but I agree with you.
holy CRAP. this is GOOD. o_o
i saw him when he first started out he was at the rooster roadhouse concord ca
it's his own creation... it's his Magic Pipe.
holy shit, this guy comes straight out of some dr seuss book. rad!
Oh, we sawed the crock pot in half and wired it up to the saw for an electric pipe gargolblaster percussion dream sequence.
I think he also takes some time setup his stuff, while playing. He's got so many props/instruments. lolz
Silverman doesn't rock - he's too good for that - - he rules
any minute now I am expecting Gallagher to come out and smash a watermelon on the crowd..
Curt Marano That would be nice 👍🙏.
He must have a lot of free time to figure all that out! Amazing talent.
Sweet baby Jesus!
é un trip vero oh
@dreampepper YAZ!
I saw him live live yesterday he signed my guitar strap
wow.
I was there with Buckethead
There once was a musical hobo
Who strung four strings on his oboe.
Said he, "With these strings,
This thing really sings!
I both blow and bow on my oboe.
no offence! Iike the music very much!
Me too.
he went through 2 in the 1 show i saw.
If anyone watches Futurama, the beginning of this sounds exactly like the holophoner!
ohh...my...lord...
S W E E T ! ! !
At the end he kinda gets like if Van Helen made Saw Solos
This sounds like the whales of heaven singing as they swim through the vast eternal oceans of the sun, but better.
i bet the doc woulda loved this
the moon is disgusting was released in 2007 and he have another official album named Song in the key of beotch
yes he always does wear two hats..
"i wear two hats, two hats bitches, not three hats, that's getting ridiculous"
somewhere over a rainbow sounds like a bunch of whales in the ocean with a offbeat tempo.
I like this version better than the pale girl with pig tails.
I mean, I can't shit on Judy Garland in one of the most iconic performances of all time. I do think this version is super cool, though.
Wyatt Isrite ya you can't shit on her.
More wood saw!
I wish I could play the pipe like that D':
a bow! is he going to play the violin?
-12 seconds later-
nope, it's an electric saw.
E-Saw with tube-string combination
this is why you can never get a good plumber
@thechronokills Lol, I read that JUST as he put it on.
@muffinsNsausage Brilliant Stuff
WHAT?!?!
he was in vancouver? fuck... if i knew i woulda went :(
OMG

I THINK NOT
@XxGenesisPlaguexX *snrrk!* haaaaaaaahahahahah! I can totally see that happening. XD!!!
i want to see him remix harder better faster stronger, by daft punk.
Lots of folks talking in the back ground. Aw geez
