Use to cook at a country club, if you take your coconut and lightly toast it in the oven it will also bring out more of the sweet flavor of the cocnut.
I would have drained the pineapple into a bowl and put the sliced bananas in the juice. The citric will prevent the bananas from turning brown. Then add bananas to the mix.
She said in the beginning something about soda an cider vin. Too prevent browning of fruit ? She didn't tell measurements either on fruit or how too mix the stuff too prevent browning
It would also be delicious to 'toast' some of the coconut as well as the marshmallows. Another variation to add yet another flavor, would be to stir in a tablespoon or 2 of marmalade. This would allow a subtle citrus flavor. Perhaps graham crackers crumbled and baked/toasted in the oven with some melted butter then add a few white chocolate chips to the crumbs. They will be slightly melted. Crumble along the top of your fruit mixture. This will allow a crunchy topping giving another texture. Just thoughts! I love creating in the kitchen!!! Like you mentioned, no right or wrong and so many combination of options!
I would like to thank you for sharing this, I will try this for sure! For the people who are negative and rude, just don’t watch, keep scrolling! She is sharing something with us and is very happy to do so, leave her alone and move on! Try boosting up each other instead of knocking each other down, it won’t hurt! Just try it and see the outcome for a change!!
I make 2 different salads that are similar. A spring/summer with close 2 the same ingredients only I use strawberry or another flavored jello. I will also add canned mandarin oranges. In late summer/fall, I use pistachio pudding with cottage cheese, pineapple maraschino cherries and marshmallows. Topped with toasted coconut. I always FOLD the dry ingredients into the whipped cream. Have all of my fruits and any liquids mixed in a separate bowl. Then fold them into the whipped cream alternating with the marshmallows.
I make the same thing almost, I actually won $1000 in a magazine for beat new summer recipe in 1998, next time use flavored marshmallows and add toasted slivered almonds and instead of the sliced strawberries try frozen strawberries the juice and all as well. Really this recipe is so universal.
This looks absolutely delicious and I also love to make things for my family and special ways and have something out of the ordinary for them. Definitely going to be making this.
I like my Marshmallows burnt. Wow looks good. I probably will not but almonds with it. I like them but just may keep it fruit. Stay positive it looks good I may try this for the 4th 🎉. Thanks for sharing.
Very cute the way you decorated it, especially with Memorial Day and 4th of July around the corner! I can tell you're probably new to making videos, since you showed every single minute of all the pouring, stirring, etc. I'm sure as you gain more experience doing these, you'll learn to edit out those tedious and time-consuming things. P.S. That was vanilla PUDDING you added, not jello. The BRAND is "Jello", and it is referred to as Jello Brand instant pudding, just as there is also "Jello Brand" instant jello. Just FYI. Anyway, good luck with your future videos. I'm sure that fruit salad was refreshing and delish!❤❤
No thanks, I like the fruit salad the old fashioned way, without that pudding, and burning or toasting the marshmallows, I make this with coconut and peacans, so thanks
Looks good but not the burnt marshmallows should have mix everything in a bowl then poured into dish I feel peaches would have been good too chilled a lil in fridge for about 30 minutes overall looks good
Pudding and pineapple juice should have been mixed together first then cool whip should have been mixed together with pudding then add fruit and marshmallows and yuck for the burnt marshmallows not toasted they are burnt.
Why do people watch stuff, just so they can complain? Kind of a sad way to spend your life, but must be a lot of fun to continually complain about being tortured, right?
Funny! I’ve never put anything cold in cast iron, cause even using it for hot dishes sometimes the metal taste seeps into the food! It must have some kind of casting on it. Otherwise I would adjust the recipe and how it’s made too!
That looks great. A tip tho if making for seniors they are not to eat pineapples in their diet due to certain RX medications they take per my mother. Other than that looks delicious!!!
It looks delicious! I just don't like that she's not wearing gloves while handling the food. It's fresh fruit salad and it will be eaten fresh without cooking it and to think she has nail polish and her nails are a bit long. I work in the food industry that's why I'm cautious
I'm sure her hands are clean. I don't like to use gloves when mixing things together. I do have soap and water to clean my hands. Have you ever heard of that.
I actually thght she was playing in the food for a sec. Lol Mixing the pudding, whipped cream and pineapple juice before adding to fruit it wld be evenly mixed
@@ryanrhodescookingRyan if possible I would love to share my mother's (Cherry-O-Salad)recipe with the both of you if that's okay. By the way this recipe looks delicious.Ryan my mother used 1 can of crushed pineapples (drain the liquid off of the canned crushed pineapples),1 container of regular cool whip,1 half of a bag of mini marshmallows,1 half of a bag of pecan halves,1 can of cherry pie filling. Now Ryan the last ingredient of this recipe is bananas, but my mother never added the bananas because of how quickly they can get dark, and my Aunt Gerri didn't even like bananas so that was a good thing at least for my Aunt Gerri. You take the whip cream and dump it in a bowl. You pour in and mix the pecan halves, cherry pie filling, mini marshmallows, and the can of crushed pineapples. Please be sure to drain all of the liquid off of the can of crushed pineapples so your whip cream won't be watery. After you have mixed, stirred, and combined everything together you have to put it in the refrigerator and let it chill overnight.Don't forget to cover it up.Some people have told us that this recipe reminds them of Ambrosia Salad. The only difference is most Ambrosia Salads I have seen have been green.Ryan you can also double this recipe if you want.My mother doubled it for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. You can actually make this recipe year round if you want to.Ryan I have one more recipe it's called (Holiday Punch).Ryan your going to need 1 two liter of Sunkist Orange Soda or Orange Crush Soda,1 bottle of Cranberry Juice or Cranberry juice cocktail,1 two liter of ginger ale,and 1 bottle of lemon juice the one in the green bottle.I can't think of the brand name, but it is extremely sour. You can also add sliced oranges, and cherries out of the jar to this punch.Ryan it's called lemon concentrate. My sister just told me.Ryan you pour all of the ingredients in a punch bowl.Ryan put the lemon concentrate to the side. After you mix the other ingredients in.Pour in a small amount of lemon concentrate.Start with half a cup and stir it up.Now Ryan the reason why I say start with half of a cup is because if you pour to much lemon concentrate in with the rest of the ingredients it will immediately overpower all of the other flavors of the orange soda, cranberry juice, and the ginger ale.So please, please, please be extra careful with the lemon concentrate and taste it as you go..One cup may be enough but again taste it as you go with half of a cup first.Trust me you will be able to tell when you have added enough lemon concentrate. But please don't overdo it lol.Lastly Ryan many people I know have added red wine to it as well. Not sure how much they added but they say it's delicious.Ryan one of my relatives prepared hers like a Sangria.I myself just leave the punch as it is.You can also add white whine.

I would have drained the pineapple into a bowl and put the sliced bananas in the juice. The citric will prevent the bananas from turning brown. Then add bananas to the mix.
Never tried that, does that really work? Great idea.
She said in the beginning something about soda an cider vin. Too prevent browning of fruit ? She didn't tell measurements either on fruit or how too mix the stuff too prevent browning
Don't look good to me you lost me with the marshmallows and then you burnt them
There was no need to layer everything. Just dump it all in a bowl and mix it all up
@@janicejones3735I think a lot of us said that. Just dump everything in one bowl, and there you have it!
Sweetheart I think you did good despite all the negativity things people say. I can’t wait to try this one out. Bless you sweetie 👍🏾❤️
That's right. These negative people need a hobby.

Your salad looks very yummy! Thanks for sharing your version of fruit salad! My family loves very, very roasted marshmallows too!
Would've been yummy with just the fruit for a fruit salad
I make the same thing almost, I actually won $1000 in a magazine for beat new summer recipe in 1998, next time use flavored marshmallows and add toasted slivered almonds and instead of the sliced strawberries try frozen strawberries the juice and all as well. Really this recipe is so universal.
I don’t care how this is mixed together I will eat the hell outta this… fresh fruit is the best and always best in the summer! 🍉 🍓🍋🟩
It shouldn't have taken this long for her to put this extremely easy simple recipe together.
Taking her sweet time for something so simple,is nerve recking

Artificial, cool whip gag

That's a great idea!
You say it smells good, I'm saying it looks delicious 😋

Lose the peanut gallery, the guy
My thoughts exactly. I HATE it when a guy thinks he MUST intersperce his comments or his opinions and be heard.
Im trying this recipe i love fruit and this looks delicious 😋

Black berries also
Burnt marshmallows just ruined the salad. Should have removed those.

That was Jello BRAND vanilla PUDDING mix. Not jello gelatin mix.
Wish I could afford it❤
Cream cheese is great in that mixture
I agree!

I think it looks good lots of fruit and textures. I would add nuts.
Is the pudding cook n serve or instant.
Instant

Ignore any negative comments. ❤
I think if you had mixed the jello with the juice and added it would have made it mix better. ❤

Love the cool whip . Unfortunately we dont get it in Australia. Wish we did. No bkackened marshmallows though. Way too burnt .
Bananas get too brown i make it with all fruit lemon pudding mix use lemon juice or pineapple ❤

But it looks good
Do you still toast the fruit if you don't use the marshmallows?
You can if you want to.
Don’t be lazy mix in a huge bowl then transfer to your serving container!!!
My thoughts exactly!
I mean really how long does it take to make fruit salad?
Oh boy it just kept getting worse...I'd be embarrassed to put this on youtube but oh well....different strokes for different folks.
You are correct. Different strokes.
Looks so good but have to substitute something for the strawberry! I'm allergic!
Just throw everything in a bowl, stir it and put it in the sheet pan. That was all a waste of time.
Omg! Thank you. I was about to say the same thing!!! Put it all in a big bowl and mix it together!!! Five mins tops!!!
I have a question. Is that instant pudding? I didn't see 'instant' on the box.
Agreed!
@willowyone5695 yes it is! 😋
😂😂😂😂😂 frz
It's called an ambrosia salad
Looks yummy don't worry about people talking neg
Thank you so much!
You didn't think that through very good you should have drained your juice into a bowl and then dumped your pineapple in the rest of the fruit
Some things really should be mixed together in a bowl and then added lol.
Using 2 spoons is good for tossing a big salad like that together.
Great idea!
