I ALWAYS say “she is such a soprano” lol I’ve seen her live several times & she doesn’t squeal as much in concert. You should do her tribute to Patti “you are my friend”. I think it’s the best representation of her range!
The pace of these songs seems to get her keyed up which speeds up her vibrato to me. Not only was it church, it was very James Brown in execution! She came & “joined” the audience on Respect, cuz she knew everybody was gone sing it! Lol! Btw, Jaron, those frames are ALL the things! Fun video!

Those are my favorite of hers too. I remember loving her and going crazy in high school for her to win. My mom and I sat and voted forever. She still slays every performance and is truly her. I absolutely love Fantasia. Was able to meet her when she was on American Idol and what a sweet, loving lady. One thing I’ve noticed with her singing would be the “quiver” her mouth has when she’s in-between notes and sometimes she do a “shout” after a note. As someone that sang in choirs for years, she is my favorite singer (along with Fiona Apple and Alice Smith). Her ability to drop down into some of that richness, instinct when to apply cord closure, switch to the grit, the understanding of how to utilize glottal stops, the brightness when she moves up. She’s an unparalleled singer. I’m no authority on it, but I was raised by a pastor and the songs I grew up singing were all gospel. You should listen to the other two I mentioned though cause Fiona and Alice have range and that versatility to move the same was as Tasia.
