It’s kind of like if an f(x) song used Red Velvet harmonies and tried the IGAB or Dalla Dalla concept switch and I ADORE it. but i can definitely see why people can be turned off because it’s so different from their popular songs like Red Flavor and Bad Boy.

Exactly, now kpop is more global so most of the artists have gone for sounds that are kind of popular in the west, however old kpop is like zimzalabim, super experimental and fearless. I love that red velvet are not afraid of changing their music, they really stand out among other kpop artists.

This comeback was juuuust AMAZING!! The song had lots of interesting turns; it's hard not to keep your attention on it. First it had this sound with the percussions leading you into a very exciting part just like in a carnival, then it switches into a melodic upbeat part getting you ready for the dRoP. When it does, you're not even aware of what's happening anymore because it changed once more and it becomes difficult to focus on just one concept, tHEN it goes back to the happy melodic vibe and then everything repeats. Next you've got this energetic dance break that has a completely different sound from what you've heard before aND THEN another completely different mellow sounding bridge building up to the last hook, giving you a total of 5 different sounds. Finally something AMAZING happens and that is the final hook with everything coming together--the dance break part with the "Zimzalabim" chant, and the percussions with the melodic part. . . . . . In conclusion, that was one great rollercoaster ride. 😜

There's so much negativity against this video out there, it's insane. At a basic level people are calling it weird, but it's not even that weird to people who listen to a wide range of music. This track reminds me of music straight out of Rio Carnival. There definitely seems to be a large contingent of people out there who like their music one way and every else must be considered as absolute crap, which this is absolutely not. It's called variety folks, it's a wonderful thing. Glad to see most of the people here get that.

imma be honest, i would usually find a chorus like Zimzalabim's very boring and disappointing..but something just draws me to idk why..plus, the song overall is just delightful💜 it reminds me of IGAB in that sense & i love both songs bc even though the changes are so sudden and drastic, all of their parts are equally catchy and amazing👏🏼👏🏼
i've listened to this song a few times now and it's definitely feeling more familiar and less jarring now - i really like it! that synth bass makes me uncomfortable but everything else about this is amazing (also the little zimzalabiiim~ in the intro feels a little cheesy too but those are really my only complaints) edit: seulgi also looks so good in this!!!

This comeback was juuuust AMAZING!!
The song had lots of interesting turns; it's hard not to keep your attention on it. First it had this sound with the percussions leading you into a very exciting part just like in a carnival, then it switches into a melodic upbeat part getting you ready for the dRoP. When it does, you're not even aware of what's happening anymore because it changed once more and it becomes difficult to focus on just one concept, tHEN it goes back to the happy melodic vibe and then everything repeats. Next you've got this energetic dance break that has a completely different sound from what you've heard before aND THEN another completely different mellow sounding bridge building up to the last hook, giving you a total of 5 different sounds. Finally something AMAZING happens and that is the final hook with everything coming together--the dance break part with the "Zimzalabim" chant, and the percussions with the melodic part.

There's so much negativity against this video out there, it's insane. At a basic level people are calling it weird, but it's not even that weird to people who listen to a wide range of music. This track reminds me of music straight out of Rio Carnival. There definitely seems to be a large contingent of people out there who like their music one way and every else must be considered as absolute crap, which this is absolutely not. It's called variety folks, it's a wonderful thing. Glad to see most of the people here get that.

I love how there's disharmony on the surface but underneath are all these other elements working to keep it on a trajectory that makes sense. Someone critiqued it and compared the video to low brow, pop surrealism art and I have to say, if you could paint music, this is what it would look like. Love listening to your opinions!

imma be honest, i would usually find a chorus like Zimzalabim's very boring and disappointing..but something just draws me to idk why..plus, the song overall is just delightful💜 it reminds me of IGAB in that sense & i love both songs bc even though the changes are so sudden and drastic, all of their parts are equally catchy and amazing👏🏼👏🏼

i've listened to this song a few times now and it's definitely feeling more familiar and less jarring now - i really like it! that synth bass makes me uncomfortable but everything else about this is amazing (also the little zimzalabiiim~ in the intro feels a little cheesy too but those are really my only complaints)
