Yesssss finally got to draw the feisty dragonsss
So happy to have finished this one, whoo! This is a very experimental sketchy pmv, and it took more than a week to complete. I had the idea for a bit longer, and have even worked on the same pmv but with the human au. Since the story has changed a bit I decided to do it again but with the original dragon au, since I needed some practice with drawing dragons.

This PMV is about Skylah finding her self identity and coming to terms with her brother’s tragic end.
She desperately tried not to be like her brother, Solomon, but despite her efforts she had become just like him: an arrogant, naive fool. She let her whole life be centered around other people and their actions, and never herself. That way, she swore vengeance on Solomon’s murderer, Kaari, and went into extreme lengths to do so.
On the way she met Kynance, a charming earth guardian. They became good friends and after a while mates. He was different than most dragons she knew; someone who spoke lightly of his life and never let it take over his identity. Little did she know that the light-hearted tale of his sorrowful past wasn’t the complete truth, but the doubts she did have she put aside nontheless. Through him she learnt that she has to let go of her past to finally find herself in her present, which would take years to do.
Once she finally has the chance to take revenge for her brother’s sudden passing, she learns that she didn’t know her brother truly after all. He was worse than she thought, and his death was caused by his own evil deeds. Still, she ends Kaari’s life, in an effort to justify both Solomon’s passing and the pain he caused others. Finally she learns to live on her own, and comes to terms with her past.

- What programs did you use?
I use ProCreate for drawing and Sony Vegas Pro 14 for editing
- Who are these characters?
They are original characters from a story that WildflowerDeer and I created. It started as a roleplay back in 2016 and nowdays we edit/update it occasionally for fun
- Are they dragons?
Yes, they are dragons. There are more dragon species in this story, but the ones featured here are from Quartzania (a kingdom), and they have fur and fluffy mane. No, they’re not furries. They’re just dragons with too much fur/hair and they don’t know how to trim it down
- What’s the story?
Unless you want a more detailed version (which is in the description), here’s a shorter version:
Skylah (the female dragon in the beginning) finds out her brother is dead. He was killed by Kaari, the buffy male dragon with no hair. She attacks him, in intentions of killing him, but is pulled away. Flash forward to her telling the story to Kynance (Wildflowerdeer’s main oc), who always has a more sarcastic yet somehow “positive” look on life. They become mates some time later. Although, Skylah doesn’t know anything about Kynance’s dark past and the secrets he’s hiding from her. Flash forward yet again, but this time to Kaari trying to flee Quartzania (their kingdom). Skylah takes the opportunity to tackle him and get her revenge, but he reveals the truth; that he killed her brother because her brother was a murderer himself. Skylah was heartbroken, but ended up killing Kaari anyways out of anger and disbelief. She regrets killing Kaari, but is happy to have “justified” her brother’s sudden passing

what colouring? They’re just sketches
not your neptune Yeah, sketches with colour basically lol. If it was a white background with black lines as contoures then it would be classified as “with no colouring” since it’d be just lines lmao. Doesn’t have to be black and white either. If the inner colouring of the character is brighter or darker than the background, it’s still classified as colouring

Before I read the description the story I got outta this was DARK XD. I thought the dragons lived in a society where they have to kill someone close to them to become more powful or something and the someone killed a dragon close to her so she set out for vengen to kill them. Only to find out it was all an elaborate scheme to help her grow stronger in the end and get her to make her first kill. Which she's regretting but they except the death with pride and I was like W O A H.
I was completely wrong and now I feel dumb but your story tells a much better picture than I did XD

They live in a society where the most powerful and respected people are guardians & soldiers. They kill a lot (since it’s basically a part of their job), and it’s a rarity to find a guardian that’s never killed someone. Skylah, by killing Kaari, ensured her state as a guardian and got overall more respect, since only then did people realize that she’s “worth the small portion of her title”. It is a really nasty society tho

I love drawing and I am fascinated by telling stories through song. Heck, I have an entire species based off a few songs (Owls, they aren't literal owls). And you have inspired me to work towards this, and start trying to show how much more songs can mean when applied to the correct character. The symbolism of songs differs when it comes to characters and it amazes me. Your character is so much more unique with a song with deep symbolism.
