First off...Deo you are one of my favorite drummers...I met Joe at his dads church and played with him...amazing bass player...and Ben on keys...proud of my family man...y'all sound AMAZING
No doubt man. You all still seem like early 20's so no where near your peaks. I'm 20 and I've been playing bass for 3 years. This video is crazzzyy inspiration for me!
I don't know why so many people are complaining about the musicians opening up. I never used to understand it before but at this level it all mistakes. The piano player is amazing, some of the tri tones he drops astounds me. Mr. Cleveland your riffs are always on point. Always getting back to the original timing of the song, you absolutely killed Never Again and Here I Am To Worship. Dwayne Bradford, the way i've linked this song to every drum player I know. You kept up with Mr. Rodgers on this!
Lol thanks for the love Fred....feel free to check out my other vids such as Cornell Thigpen's "Sightseeing", as well as me playin for Kim Burrell in my Decatur Concert playlist
BRO!! Joe is one of my classmates at Berklee. He is most definitely a pocket bass player....he is one of the coldest bass players on campus. And he is just entering his sophomore year. Left hand bass players are taking over. I promise you, Joe Cleveland is strictly pocket..........this just him shedding...listen to him on the rest of his videos...as a matter of fact listen to the live arrangements he did with Nick Smith and Delvyn Brumfield
@PJAmbition thank you for your appreciation!! As far as comparisons its all about preference..I love Morgan Turner's playing as well as Joe's playing. Joe hasn't even reached his peak yet. You guys havn't seen nothing yet!
The 1st song is called "Never Again" by James Fortune. The drums were played by Calvin Rodgers on the recording. He is the #1 Gospel drummer in the world.
looks like the keyboard guy caught him off guard at 12:26 and then the spirit got him after that for a second... that was beautiful to see. He coudn't even play.
This dude is tight. However, it appears that he is not very comfortable staying in the pocket. You can tell when the song "No Other Choice" required that he stay right there in the pocket he needed to do a fill. He is what I call a fill bass player. He sounds good though, but I wonder what he sounds like when a song requires you to stay right in the pocket. Can he make it sound great too?
so raw oh my God i live to see bass players play like this!!! I want to be playin like this one day!!
MAN YALL ARE STR8 KILLIN!! appreciate it all!!!
