Mylène and Seal did not shoot the clip together, it was done in the studio, Mylène in France and after Boutonnat and went to the US to play the part of Seal, that's also why we do not see the head of the man when they are seen together in the clip. Extreme softness. Another side of MF. And then duets, improbable but successful. I recommend "Regrets" (JL Murat), "Stolen Car" (Sting) and "La poupée qui fait non" (Khaled)
The reason I like this song is because the lyrics contrast each-other so well. She sings (translated) “words are our lives” and he sings “you could kill a life with words”. The second verse which she sings is my favourite lyric wise, it’s really good. I suggest the 2006 live version of this song, in my opinion it’s even better. Seal isn’t there but there is someone else who sings his part and I think said person does it better. I don’t want to say who as it’ll ruin the surprise.. though some have no doubt already spoiled it.
Oh I learned something about the reason they didn't made another duet. I don't understand why Seal's Fans didn't like "Les mots" because this song is so fantastic and they are complementary like you said. I always loved that song ♥
